Lights flickered as power drew for the hyperdrive, a bit of a chug...then nothing. Dells looked around the cockpit as if something else was supposed to happen. Nothing.
Unbuckling herself from the chair behind Xin, Skreech skittered around as she did so, knowing they would be going nowhere fast.
"Well...that's more than it was doing. Small progress."
Now there was a crossroad.
"Do we deploy a distress signal and drift closer to a space lane? Sub-light still works. Realistically we could work on the hyperdrive and also drift closer to a spacelane."
Another pause.
"Do we need to go back to the creepy station and harvest more metals and things?"
