Genius, Billionairess, Playgirl, Fighter Pilot
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Kayla Luspark is a striking woman at any age. While only average in height she is anything but average in looks. A career soldier, built like a fitness model, she possesses the body of a woman who engages in frequent vigorous exercise in a mix of cardio via running and swimming, as well as an intensive weight training or resistance program. Priding herself on being fit to fight, fit to fly she keeps herself ready for the rigors of aerospace combat. The body is a machine after all, and a fit body promotes a fit mind. She's heavier than she looks because of this, having packed on muscle rather than being skinny-fat.
Long dark chocolate hair that often spills in loose waves and curls once let down from the tight bun or braids she keeps them in. Eyes that change color from money green to steel gray depending on lighting and mood. Full lips, strong jawline, and prominent cheek bones contribute to classical looks.
Typically wears the hell out of her flight suit or military uniform, but outside of work she dresses for the occasion, whether simple and casual, or for something more upscale, dressed to the nines. Knows how to make a statement when she walks into the room. With decades facing life-or-death situations, leading egotistical wildcard fighter pilots, cantankerous crew chiefs, degenerate droids, and nascent naval personnel this smoke show has "command presence" wherever she goes.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Major Kayla "Sparky" Luspark is a high-performance combat pilot and commander defined by discipline, competence, and quiet intensity. A product of Corellian privilege turned career soldier, she channels her need for control and purpose into precision flying and decisive leadership. Kayla thrives under pressure and has a near-instinctive grasp of tactics, mechanics, and human behavior, earning her a reputation as both a consummate professional and a pilot's pilot. Beneath the confident exterior, however, lies a deep dependence on adrenaline and responsibility. She feels most alive in motion, and struggles with stillness or loss.
Years of combat have left her marked but not broken; she carries ghosts quietly and works through them in the only way she knows how: action. When the mission goes bad, she flies harder, pushing herself and her starfighter past the redline until the storm inside burns out. Then she refuels, rebuilds, and carries on, steel-willed and smudged with grease, because that's how she stays steady. Kayla is driven by mastery, loyalty, and the need to make her survival mean something. She is a soldier who hides her heart behind the canopy glass, but never stops fighting to keep others alive.
Squadron Scuttlebutt: "Sparky" Luspark
"You can tell when the Major's hurting. She won't talk about it — not to anyone. She just takes her bird out and flies like she's trying to outrun whatever's chasing her. When she comes back, the ship's hot enough to fry a ration pack on the hull and her eyes are red, but the hangar's quiet. We all just make sure there's fuel in the tank and a clean towel waiting. You don't ask 'what happened.' You just make sure she's got something to fix, and a little space to breathe."
— Crew Chief Arianna Talien, Red Squadron
Pilot's Note
"Major Luspark? She's Corellian through and through. Stubborn, fast, and twice as dangerous when she's quiet. Doesn't need to shout to make the squadron move. You hear her voice over comms, and suddenly you remember how to fly straight. And Force help you if you scratch her ship? She'll know, and you'll wish you didn't."
— Lt. Renn Talos, Red Squadron
Unofficial Log Entry
"They call her 'Sparky' for a reason. She lights up the squadron when things get dark. Doesn't matter if we're outnumbered or running on fumes. If she's in the fight, you believe you're getting home. She doesn't say much about her past, but when you see her with her hands in an engine, you get it. She fixes things. Maybe that's all she's been trying to do her whole life."
— Anonymous Pilot Report
STRENGTHS
Mechanic - Byproduct of her interest in flying, she spent half her time in the innards of various vehicles, fighters, and so on, learning how they worked, how to maintain them, repair, fix, upgrade. This leaves her with a mechanical knowledge and skill to repair most machines and craft, including droids. She's a mechanical and electrical engineer in her own right but earned and learned through experience and hard work rather than from a textbook.
She appreciates craftsmanship and goes the extra mile to do clean, professional work, knowing that the next knucklehead that might have to work on something she took care of might just be herself. Do it right the first time and you don't have to do it again.
Flygirl - Kayla practically grew up in a cockpit. More accurately, the cockpits of multiple aerospace vehicles. From antique A-wings, to more modern versions, as well as some of the best and latest interceptors, racing craft, and civilian aerospace craft put out by Luspark Industries. Test pilot, quality control specialist. Then countless hours in X-wings and other fighters. The woman can get small craft to do things their designers never intended, and most people can barely follow or imagine. If it's a small craft, within minutes she flies it like an extension of her body and will.
Leadership - Decades of leading other pilots, and then squadrons has honed her leadership skills and instincts. With a can-do, take-charge attitude, she is not afraid to delegate, or take radical accountability and ownership. Given to decision when others struggle with indecision and direction. Accepts that a good but loose plan now is often better than a perfect plan later when it's too late. That said, she's not impatient, but accepts that sometimes, one does not know all the facts and one has to leap on imperfect information. Make a good plan, execute, fill in the gaps, and stay liquid.
Rich Girl - Kayla was born in the lap of luxury and vast corporate wealth, giving her an understanding of the upper crust of society, allowing her to operate in those circles sometimes as second nature, whether with C-Suite corpo types and upper management, military officers across the ranks, government officials, and foreign dignitaries. More than this, she still has access to a fair amount of credits, partially because of "allowance," her own investments, trust funds, stipends, and slush funds.
WEAKNESSES
Rocket Fuel - Kayla is an adrenaline junky wit rocket fuel in her blood. Has a tendency to go from zero to one hundred in a hurry, should the situation warrant. Age, experience, and responsibility has tempered this some with time as she must be the example rather than an example or liability
Rich Girl - Poverty is something Kayla understands mostly as a concept and having seen it in the galaxy but never directly touched by it. More than that she is always being dragged back into corporate and family drama with Spark Industries and the Luspark family in a constant push/pull between the corporate and family trying to exert influence over her or the military where she is concerned, and her having to push back.
HISTORY
Kayla grew up on Corellia, and is the youngest of two siblings. The Luspark family owns and operate major manufacturing company, Spark Industries. The company traces it's roots back to the Galactic Civil War, when the family manufactured A-wing starfighters from kits to push to the Alliance against the Empire, and continued on into a legitimate business during the New Republic era. Securing themselves during this time, focusing on preparedness, and sizeable assets, they'd weathered through the dark times. When things began to clear up, the Lusparks were poised to flood the market with fighters, shuttles, airspeeders, landspeeders, and transports. Over the centuries the name has become synonymous with utility and craftsmanship, especially for their custom line of vessels.
Growing up in this environment, Kayla learned to fly at a young age, and it became a hobby over the years. When she was old enough, she enlisted to join the GA military. There she easily passed Basic Flight, and moved on to Advanced Flight. There she joined one of the squadrons of their defense force, becoming a lieutenant and a flight leader for her unit's second flight. After a stint with the GA, she returned home and brought the expertise and experience as a military pilot to the company. There she began working on a new starfighter project designed with the wants and needs she'd had while flying for the G.A.
That all changed in more recent types as the Bryn'adul have been rampaging across the outer rim and clashing with the SJC. So it was that she sought inroads to join their military as they were standing in between the Bryn and the GA, and surely conflict would come to their borders first. When the call went out for volunteers and pilots, she was among the first to step up, and with prior combat experience from a friendly, if not allied nation, they were quick to shift her into the active front.
