Description: The original Ravenous-class, erroneously referred to as a corvette, was a frigate that suffered from a lack of focus. This led to the craft being relegated to backwater worlds. Modernization efforts were made to correct these flaws. The ship's armament was stripped and rebranded. Heavy ion cannons were put in place to deter enemy capital ships while quad laser and flak cannon batteries were optimally placed around the ship's hull to offer maximum forward firepower. Approaching a Ravenous-class head-on in a starfighter is nigh suicidal for this reason. While the ship is fast, this focused weapons grouping means the ship is significantly vulnerable to attacks from the rear.
