~The Sith Battle Arena~

"Many came to see the battles, many joined to join the trials, few survived the flames, but those who did, rose as legends!~"

Introduction:

Welcome to the Dueling Arena, a relatively new addition to the home base of the Sith Assassins, as one would enter the arena they would be greeted with steel on stone walls garnished with long red banners bearing the insignia of both the One Sith and the Assassins respectively interchanged around the room. The room itself is a veritable amphitheater which descends into a large sand covered basin which bears peppered debris, boulders and other terrain at the competitors' will for cover and diversity. The arena itself is walled with Durasteel, bearing the gashes, claw-marks and burns from light-sabers blasters and all manner of things which have been smashed against the walls from fights gone by. Spectators are able to sit on the sidelines or in rooms bordering the higher walls of the pit so that they may watch the matches and duels from above, though, at the head of which, sits a pagoda in which VIP's are able to spectate high profile matches. The only entrances while in the pit, are a service elevator which descends the combatants into the ring, and the blast door which leads to the menagerie, where creatures for the arena are bred and held until their matches.

Purpose:

The Dueling Arena was created to provide a location for players to spar, observe or engage in single, or even multiple combat, essentially, the Arena is a resource to be used at leisure, for whatever the combatants wish. The vast arena able to support grand duels and even small skirmishes against even large to monstrous sized opponents like Rancor, large Sith-spawn, packs of enemies or many other dangers. The menagerie out the back is a prime place for alchemists to practice their arts and put their creations to the tests against unknowing and willing opponents alike as all wish to prove their mettle in the arena. It is here that tournaments are held within the Sith assassins and duels for position, pride and power take place. Special events known as 'Arena-Challenges' are also held within the arena, where grand prizes and even titles can be attained by those who compete in them and claim victory.

Summary:
  • PC's can create Open invitation threads to invite combatants or create their own pairings for training / sparring etc.
  • Arena Challenges are tough match-ups against high odds. Though the prizes for winning can be equally great.
  • Alchemists/ Players can perform threads to introduce creatures into the arena to be fought or even 'become' Arena Challenges.
  • Combat events such as Tournaments and others are held in this area, so keep an eye open!

Rules:

While there are not many rules for the Dueling Arena, there are a couple. First and foremost this area is there for your enjoyment, so, have fun! That being said, the dueling arena is a canon location, so, duels in this area are canon, thus wounds, maiming experience gained and the rivalries made are also canon. When in combat, disputes can arise, it is highly recommended that these disputes ate attempted to be resolved between combatants, in either an OOC thread or through PM's, though, as is sometimes the case, if they cannot be resolved, please contact [member="Darth Ferus"] or other Sith Assassins Leadership or consult a role-play judge to help you resolve the dilemma... The final and one of the more important rules however, is that lethal force against PC's is not permitted in the Dueling ring unless it is expressly stated in the premise of the thread or agreed on by all participants, so not to incur the wrath of the Assassin leadership. However, in some threads such as certain tournaments and 'all' Arena Challenges, lethality is always allotted.

Summary:
  • Enjoy yourself!
  • All threads in the Dueling Ring are Canon.
  • If you have problems, and cannot resolve them, please see your local Assassins council, or consult an Roleplay-Judge.
  • Roleplays in the Arena are 'non-kill' unless specified otherwise. Arena challenges are always kill-enabled, due to their difficult nature.

Ranks of the Dueling Ring

Summary:
The dueling ring is a place for those to test their mettle against some of the greatest foes the assassins have bred, captured or created. From colossal creatures and abominations, to the strongest members of their own ranks. As such, an honour system was developed for use in the Dueling ring, where prestige can be gathered and victory can be displayed with a title like a badge of pride among the assassins and among the Sith as a whole. Progress towards the titles displayed here do not necessarily have to be fought within the confines of the arenas themselves, but must adhere to the prerequisite conditions in order to be valid.

Namely; the combat must be an un-interrupted duel on a neutral field between yourself, or the opponent.

The only exemption to this, is in the case of Grand Hunts.

Titles

Duelists:
Those who ascend through the ranks of Sith Chevalier, Sith Dirvish and Immortal, gain in notoriety and prestige by battling against other player characters in the arena. Wins accumulated against other characters of equal or higher rank in the Sith. though, naturally, defeating opponents of lower ranks earns little in the way of renown.

Defeating an opponent of equal rank constitutes as one victory, though, defeating opponents whom are of a higher rank. (eg. an Acolyte defeating a knight.) would constitute as 2, due to the notable difficulty. (Tournaments won must have 3 rounds...)

Hunters:
Unlike duelists, those whom choose to fight opponents not limited to sentient races and border on the inhuman, raise through the ranks of Sith Neophyte, Sith Paragon and Venator, gaining renown through the slaying of creatures in the arena whom could be considered far greater than any singular human opponent. Opponents can fight a great range of creatures within the arena, from Rancor, to Terentatek, to Tukata, Hssis, Rak'ghoul and many more. However creatures here are split into 2 categories, large, and small.

Defeating a single large monster, is considered a victory for progression towards a title. Though, small monsters, such as Rak'ghoul or Hssiss, in order to gain enough notoriety to progress towards a title, must be fought in groups of at least 10.

Great Hunts:
Great hunts are little more or less than group ventures against far more devastating targets such as Krayt Dragons or Leviathan. The targets for Great Hunts must first be captured in order to be fought in the arena. Each Great hunt accomplished is a momentous occasion, where people come from planets far and wide to witness the event. Each Hunt is highly dangerous, but often, they herald grand rewards for those whom are able to best a great beast within the neutral fighting ground of an enclosed arena.

Duelist Titles.

The first among the notable titles and namely one of the easiest to attain, the Sith Chevalier is a mark of a fledgling duelist among those whom frequent the Dueling Arena. Though their skill levels often differ wildly, it is considered that a sith owning this title has a firm grip on at least the basics of one on one combat. Though the title in of itself holds little prestige, it's a necessarily beginning and a gate-way to those before it.

Achieved After: Winning 4 PvP Duels
OR
Winning 1 Tournament.

The Dervish among the sith, unlike the Chevalier, are seasoned fighters, skilled one on one combatants and deadly opponents. Recognized immediately for their skill, be it with a blade, pistol, or through the force, its Sith Dervishes whom make up the vast majority of prestigious fighters in the arena, however, their numbers should not cloud the unavoidable fact that, each of these warriors excel in single combat, and should not be tested lightly.

Achieved After: Winning 8 PvP Duels
OR
Winning 3 Tournaments.

However, those whom manage to climb the ladder and attain the title are almost known to become famous overnight from their achievements. Known to be some of the greatest duelists in the one sith, Immortals are Sith who have refined their combative skill to an art-form. Many Sith Masters and Even Jedi masters revel or even fear combat with those who receive this title due to the sheer implications of their achievements.

Achieved After: Winning 15 PvP Duels
OR
Winning 5 Tournaments

Hunter Titles.

Unlike the notable duelist titles, the Neophyte title is granted to those sith who have developed a taste for fighting against more inhuman in the ring. Though the title is considered base, and holds little achievement in of itself, it is a gate-way toward the two more grandiose titles and ranks to come. Battles between Neophytes are often towards the beginnings of grand presentations and it is widely accepted that Neophytes have some experience in fighting creatures larger than themselves or with unique biological traits.

Achieved After: Defeating 3 Monstrous Opponents in the Arena and at least 1 'Great Hunt.'

The Paragon of the Arena is a seasoned monster hunter, known for being able to bring down creatures considered much greater than themselves. Sith Paragons are spectacles to behold in the arena and have often developed an affinity for fighting against monstrous or inhuman opponents to a significant degree, be it through sheer combative skill, or the use of swift ingenuity and cruel resourcefulness. Few manage to ascend past the rank of Sith Paragon in the grand arena.

Achieved After: Defeating 10 Monstrous Opponents in the Arena and at least 3 'Great Hunts.'

For the stark few whom manage to live long enough to ascend the ladder to achieve the Title of Sith Venator, are immortalized in the grand arena. Sith Venators are known as masters of dimorphic combat, each of them famous for their ability to defeat and affinity against opponents many times their own size in most cases which greatly outclass a human being in multiple categories. Being awarded with the title of Venator is one of the highest prestigious among the assassins beneath the factions' core venerated titles.

Achieved After: Defeating 20 Monstrous Opponents in the Arena and at least 5 'Great Hunts.'
