The Dominion of Bespin

The Dominion of Bespin.

So once Skye has fallen we will be redirecting our forces to the cloud world where we can establish mines and pull the ever necessary Tibana gas for use in our weapons.

Please discuss here, objective ideas etc?

Bespin is primarily floating cities and gas clouds. There are multiple cities there, but only Cloud City has any particular development. We have wiggle room, but any politics should probably take place in the area that actually has backstory and environment. Plus, I don't believe our delicate ambassadors really want to deal with an entire cavalcade of Ugnaughts.

A couple of suggestions, for each possible sphere of interest.

Military
- The local Ugnaughts, opposed to rule from a humanocentric, Fascist power, stage an uprising in Ugnorgrad. This gives them home field advantage and makes them a challenge to take down. Plus, "the Massacre of Ugnorgrad" looks really cool on our resume.

- Since there's not a lot of physical ground on Bespin, the infantry detachment we sent was intended to be more of a show of force, rather than a conquering army. During a dress parade to properly intimidate the locals into submission, they weren't terribly intimidated. Suddenly bombs. Suddenly crossfire. A resistance force catches us by surprise, and we have to whip up an immediate and decisive counterattack.

Political
- Contract negotiations seem like the obvious direction to go. Bespin is the single largest tibanna manufacturer in the galaxy. They sell to a lot of people. Taking over the planet might very well be as simple as buying off their contracts...while generously undercutting their asking price, of course.

- I think it would be hilarious to see our diplomats attempt to negotiate with Ugnaughts. They're short, ugly, smelly, blue-collar workers who are heavily resistant to change and prone to paranoia mildly excessive caution. They are, however, the primary workforce of Bespin. If they cave, the planet has to go with them.

Espionage
- No one gives up their most valuable secrets willingly. Once your employers know how to do your job, they can replace you. As such, the Bespin authorities have decided not to explain their more advanced gas processing techniques to ensure they have an ace up their sleeve. It'd be a shame if we were to inexplicably find out anyway, robbing them of that advantage.

- Bespin does a ton of very legal business with everyone in the galaxy, but there isn't a corporation that has ever existed ever that hasn't bent the rules to make a bit more money. Uncovering an illicit deal with a high-profile client would give us major blackmail potential to either ensure their immediate compliance or their future loyalty.

Naval
- Man, it sure would suck if all of the satellites orbiting Bespin, and thus allowing them to contact the rest of the galaxy for trade agreements and/or assistance with resisting a military occupation. It'd be a shame if we happened to them.

- Establishing a blockade is easy. Holding one is significantly more interesting. The First Order blockade is being faced with a boatload of smugglers. Zerg rush tactics means that it's impossible to keep them all from getting through. Unless, of course, you're a PC.

An idea for a PVE Combat objective, perhaps a space station above Bespin which controls the flow of all Tibanna Gas shipments passing off-world needs to be boarded and captured?

[member="Aram Kalast"] perhaps a few GA could be present, acting as advisers and such to the resistance but not as the primary opposition.

I believe a bunch of people just started a heist on Bespin, too. We might be able to incorporate that into our storyline. Might be a biiit much to try to get them into the thead, but even just mentioning what's happened in theirs will give ours an awesome feeling of continuity.

If you want some help with the dominion, I can bring in one of my characters to be either direct opposition or help organize resistance/evacuation.

Only with your permission, though.

So I came up with these.

Objective List for the First Order dominion of Bespin

Objective 1: (PvP Element)
This objective is shared with those within the Galactic Alliance who are joining this thread.
The Massacre of Ugnorgrad
When the First Order landed peacefully on Bespin, small garrisons were established on the Floating Cities in order to maintain an element of control and intimidation over the populace. Most didn’t seem to mind at all, in fact most embraced the Stromtroopers patrolling the streets.
However this all changed when on particular Garrison was bombed during it’s morning assembly resulting in the death of two Stormtroopers and damage to a flight of TIE-Fighters.
The bombs were linked to a Ugnaught movement known as the Renegades and their leader Ugnakaaraar was a rumoured contact of the Resistance.

The First Order have dispatched a small strike force of Stormtroopers, the 501st included to the underbelly of Ugnorgrad were in the confined tunnels and maintenance passage ways the Ugnaught’s make their home. Orders are simple, remove the Renegade threat and search for any links to the rumoured Resistance cell operating in the area. To make things more interesting the innocent Ugnaughts have aligned themselves with the First Order and are not to be harmed.

Note that this objective takes place in close quarters and vehicles, space ships and anything larger than a rifle is not permitted. Also not that Tibanna gas is rampant in this area of the city, any explosives would rip through large areas and probably kill everyone there as such items like grenades and bombs will be permitted only if absolutely necessary and use of which may require an edit post request.

Objective 2: PvE Social
Cement our hold on the Tibanna Trade
The First Order know that to hold Bespin they need to hold the Tibanna Gas. In order to do this the Gas Baron’s that possess control of the planet have all been measured into categories of importance and the First Order are working to befriend those of higher status by offering them titles beyond their initial reach. Those who do not comply are being replaced by those who do and it is up to the politicians of the First Order to oversee the necessity of these changes.

Objective 3: PvE Social
Re-establish the Bespin Wing Guard under our rule
Recently the Bank of Aargau was broken into and a substantial amount of credits were removed from the accounts of Bespin’s wealthy. A large amount of mistrust and blame was placed onto the Bespin Wing Guard and the current Baron-Administrator who was removed from office by the pressure placed on him by the surrounding Barons.
The First Order will use this to their advantage as they reinstate [member="Ileris Sonn"] as Baron-Administrator of Cloud City and establish control of the Bespin Wing Guard to act as a friendly source of pollce from outside the ranks of the Stormtroopers.

Objective 4: Bring Your Own Objective
What ever you want to do
Says it all. Hit the Casinos, do some nasty stuff or just sit around looking at the view. Your call, your posts.

Sounds logical to me! I'm in agreement with the available objectives to follow, 4 means I can carry out that space station raid with a few friends of mine. :D
