Titles
Know your motive

The Hutt Cartel follows a loose set of hierarchy where the obvious leadership derives from the Hutt Elders but in their turn also recognise the need for a structure in the Cartel.

You can find yours and other members current rank in the Cartel roster.
If you wish to make a career in the cartel here are the general guidelines.

Title - Role

Cartel Enemy - This is an OOC role for characters whose writer want o support the cartel OOC but it does not fit their character. Enemies are just as important as allies in a good story so naturally you are welcome to be part of our planning and community. Just make sure people understand where your character stands IC.
Cartel slave - The slaves of the Hutt are numerous. Their roles vary and there are even position amongst the slaves themselves. With a few exceptions the slaves are the lowest standing of any in the Hutt Cartel

Hutt Associate - A Hutt who has invited a guest or a business partner to the Cartel has declared that this person is to be trusted inside the Hutt Palaces. It is generally assumed that these people are here to profit on their own and the Hutts see no reason why not to aid them, as long as due respect and payback is beneficial. It is considered extremely ill behaviour to kill or harm such a person without the acceptance of the Hutts, although there are not guaranties and it does happen that competitive associates kill one another without the Hutts interfering, all depending on how the outcome would affect the Cartels own business..

Cartel contractor - a general term for the vast number of people on the Hutt payroll. Often Bounty hunters or smugglers do one time jobs now and then and are a common sight among the Hutts. They are important to most Hutt court and Hutts in general trust that true loyalty only comes from cash. Contractors are free to come and go and as long as they dont work for enemies of the Hutts they can pick up any outside job on the side.

Hutt Enforcer - these are hutt Soldiers or enforcers, trusted with the Hutt security and are exclusively working for the Cartel. Hutt Enforcers are not supposed to work outside the Hutt Cartel, and their presence and availability is counted on by the Hutts. While being more bound to the Cartel then a contractor enforcers also carry benefits. Succesful Enforcers are known to become important pieces to special parts of a hutt organisation and if your character is an enforcer he/she hold sway over minor NPCs in the faction. Thus you are free to RP that your character can bring a NPC gang with him/her when appropriate.

Made man
To be made is to be brought into the Besadii crime family and made a sister or brother of the cartel. A made man is someone untouchable. To lay a hand on a made man is very dangerous and many of the cartel consider it an honorary duty to protect those made. While this title is not a position it carries a heavy air of power since the made men more or less are protected by the supreme mogul himself.

Cartel boss- Hutt Enforcers who are climbing the ladder eventually turn bosses in their own right. They are the generals and leaders of the Cartel forces and their influence is strong only surpassed by the major domo or the Hutts themselves and although the Hutt elders are the top dogs in the Cartel some bosses can hold greater power then a single Hutt. In fact many Hutts can be found on this level as well. The boss might for example act as supervisors of a certain facility, leader over a gang or otherwise have carved a place of influence where their power holds clear dominance. As a cartel boss you have the right to employ and decide over a large group of NPCs in the cartel. They know you have the backing of the Hutts and you can assume that you have access to cartel thugs when making associated posts.

Mogul - The Mogul is a member bestowed with the responsibility to lead and operate a vital sector of the cartels operations. This may include planetary government, fleet control, financial market management or any other area of larger the scope. At their position they hold high influence in their own rights and only answer to the supreme mogul.

Major Domo - Major Domos are appointed for individual Hutts or the cartel as a whole. These are never of the Hutt race themselves but a person of another species that is as close a non-Hutt can come to the Hutts. Resting on an advisory role individual major Domos are of different status, from the most lowly Hutt to the ruler of the Hutt cartel. The Major Domo is the voice of the Hutt and is often just as feared as the Hutt himself.

Hutt specific roles

Hutt - the race in itself is a role to lead in the Cartel. Hutts are simply put "mini-bosses" in their own right. However, to be a hutt does not automatically grant influence. Hutts can be anything from contractors to enforcers or above. But normally members of the Hutt species are given alot more respect then others merely because they were born as Hutts.

Hutt Elder - An esteemed member of a Kajidic is declared Elder and as such may hold a position in the Hutt Ruling Council and represent their Kajidic there. The Hutt Elder is not a title for the Hutt cartel but a mark of a Hutt who leads an entire kajidic and as such holds great influence over their entire Hutt species and is by default highly respected in the cartel.

Archon - an honorary title bestowed to individuals who work tirelessly to uphold and further the Hutt traditions of old.

Supreme Mogul - The supreme mogul is the ruler of the entire Cartel. Only Hutts may rise to this position and everyone in the cartel is a subject one way or the other to the will of the Supreme Mogul.

Currently the position has been split into three figures, voting and dictating the fate of the Cartel, and their subjects, voted in by the Hutts they represent the interests of unknown Huttian groups, whether puppet leaders or tyrants by their own power one thing is certain don't say it to their face, a face full of slugs is the least of your worries if you do.

Hutt Emperor - the one Hutt impersonating all the Power of the Hutt Empire. This role is currently vacant and has been for some time.
