"Coming out of hyperspace now, sir.", the navigation officer called out.  Without acknowledgement, Zeradias went to the captain's chair and sat.  He wanted to be on the bridge when they came into orbit of Kamino, the capital of an emerging power in this corner of the galaxy.  Word quickly spread of their formation after the subjugation of Kamino, launched from a local lord's holdings on Void Station.

With a subtle nod and blink from Mant, the navigation officer barked his orders to bring the ship into low orbit of Kamino.  Servicemen began firing up the scanners to locate the Imperial Remnant base.  It didn't take long before something was picked up - except it wasn't the imperial base, but rather a ship of theirs on the radar.

"Sir, contact due 38 degrees starboard side, 100 plus kilometers out.  They're closing on our position fast!", the nav officer shouted.  Zeradias stood and descended down the stairs to the workstations where the servicemen and officers performed their duties.

After observing the foreign star destroyer get bigger as it approached, he briskly walked to the communications officer.  "Patch me through."  After a few moments, he was connected to an open channel in which he might hail the other ship.  Not having the IFF of the Imperial Remnant was inconvenient, but tis was the price of surprise diplomacy.

"Unidentified vessel, this is the ISV Retribution, Aegis Initiative, Iron Empire Navy.  Halt your advance and identify.", he said sternly into the comlink.  Turning away with the mic muted, he summoned a young serviceman.  "Lieutenant Forgrin's presence is needed on the bridge, forthwith."  With a 'right away, sir' and nod of acknowledgement, the young man disappeared.

This was not how diplomacy began, but the safety of his ship and all the souls aboard it took priority.  Zeradias doubted the vessel would engage in hostilities - if it belonged to the Remnant as he expected it did, it'd be foolish for them to engage.  Though, the Retribution was in their house now.

The admiral's pale eyes looked into the deep unknown, the star destroyers continuing to close the distance.  His heart beat a little faster, but that's when he functioned best.

Kamino, Wild Space

Tipoca City, the Imperial Capital

When you would've asked Tanomas Graf where he was in five years, he would never had said sitting in a sleek throne as Imperial Emperor, but that was where he was today. The Imperial Remnant was growing at a rather alarming rate, and Graf knew that the Triumvirate would be too divided with their own agendas to pursue their inevitable reformation into the Galactic Empire. The old man had an entire holoprojector displaying Imperial activities as he dispatched orders to his fleets and armies, until an Imperial technician that was working in the throne room spoke "Your excellency, Director Caalgen requests an audience. And just now the local defense fleet is reporting that a star destroyer from the Iron Empire has appeared in the system".

Graf was confused, why would the Iron Empire be here? So far away from their holdings in the Unknown Regions. Nevertheless, they had a reason for coming, and he was determined to find this out. "Tell the Director to come immediately. What is the Iron Empire destroyer doing?" He asked, the reply was short "Apparently they are requesting that the defense force cease their approach.". The Emperor chuckled "Alert the defense force to leave them be, we will entertain them for now. Contact their ship and request an audience here with their commanders. Summon Director Kalast and Baron Morcus." He ordered, sitting back into the throne and returning to his holo display and by extension the Remnant itself.

An Empire without an Emperor is nothing.

"Director Caalgen, your audience has been accepted" An Imperial stormtrooper announced as he opened the blast door for the soaked Director of Advanced Weapons Research. With the whip of a cape, he quickly entered, intent on seeing the Emperor as soon as possibly. He strode through the corridors of the Imperial complex until he was met by a door guarded by robed Imperial Guards, who were not fazed by his presence instead they nodded at him. Caalgen returned the nod before entering the throne room, where he walked forward until he was in front of the Emperor before giving a respectful bow.

"My lord, I come here today representing the Advanced Weapons Research division of the Military, I have completed a design that I believe you will appreciate." The man said in a calm, accented voice, completely devoid of any fear but instead full of respect. His gloved hand pulled a small holoprojector from his pocket and activated it, causing a hologram to jump out. It was like an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, but the fore section was split in half, instead replaced with a concave dish.

"I present the Conqueror-class Star Destroyer, armed with a massive concave dish that exhibits a powerful proton beam, capable of obliterating capital-sized vessels with multiple blasts." The man said proudly, expecting a grand response from the Emperor.

Edric was on Kamino for business with Tanomas Graf, but due to the recent arrival he would have to wait for now, his form standing out on the rain covered deck while he watched the sky for any indication as to what might appear over head. He wasn't sure the danger of the new arrival but considering the entire planet's defenses were not going crazy, he assumed the arrival was not hostile yet. He had been told to wait by Graf upon the arrival of the ship so for now he waited with his guard Nida Vaal and his Assistant Eve.

That was until an Imperial officer exited through a door and spoke up against the rain that fell. "Commander Vanyan, If you require the Emperor's attention, he will meet you now." Edric's head turned just enough to look at the man before nodding to him, his feet shifting and bringing him inside where he was much dryer now. He didn't mind the rain at all, made him feel more at home and those two beside him knew that well. Eve, though a computer, was more of a sister to him after their both being around his predecessor so often and causing the man trouble. As for the Guard, she was the person that Edric trusted among anyone else, knowing she would never abandon him if it came to it.

Reaching the office of the man who Edric served under didn't take long and he brushed back his hair, still wet from the rain and sighed before moving through the doors with a straight back and focused stare. The other two followed him through but Nida knew to stand off to the side of the room once inside, and Eve remained with her datapad, working on it while Edric talked with Tanomas Graf.

"Sire, I do hope this will not take long. I just wanted to make sure that your signature and permission on the use of Keshiri Driveworks as a producer for our arms and weapons. One of them at the very least." He looked off to the side, checking to make sure no one else was inside that he needed to greet with words or a salute, careful not to interrupt anything and more than ready to be silenced if Graf was in the middle of something.

''I'm already here, my liege.'', the Baron said politely as he arrived in the throne room of Emperor Graf, escorted by a pair of the Emperor's newly formed Shadow Guard. He moved to stand beside Director Caalgen, gazing curiously at the new Conqueror design. ''An impressive vessel indeed. I may have to acquire one for the Inquisitorius, when it begins production.'', the Baron said with a smile, before moving to kneel before the Emperor. ''I have good news for you, my lord. After a time of repair, all of our available cloning facilities are up and operational. The Fett DNA specimen is proving perfect for our needs.....onto the business at hand though, my liege. You required my presence?'', he said, lowering his head respectfully.

"Sir, the ship appears to have halted and reversed course."

Zeradias breathed a sigh of relief.  While violence was something he excelled at, he sought to avoid it when possible.  Needless death irked him to no end.  "Take us down.", Zera ordered.  With a ship of the Retribution's size, it was unlikely they'd land the entire vessel on the surface.  Even more risky was landing their only insurance policy and rendering it to attack.  While he trusted the Remnant would pull nothing underhanded, it wasn't like him to abandon caution for trust.  Looking around, Staff Lieutenant Forgrin was still nowhere to be found.  It was a big ship after all, though he did wonder.

As the star destroyer continued to lower, structures looming over the water became more visible.  Tipoca City, the home of the Imperial Remnant.  Here is where Zeradias would forge a future for the Aegis Initiative, Iron Empire, and Imperial Remnant alike.

"Belay Lieutenant Forgrin's summons.  Inform the marines to prepare for landing.", he ordered a corporal on the bridge.  With a resounding acknowledgement, he went to pass on the order.  As the ship decreased in elevation, he looked out the bridge windows to look at the darkening skies - all thanks due to thick clouds of precipitation on the oceanic world.  They would have to take the shuttles down - luckily the BV-47As fit the task perfectly.  He'd expect the shuttles and marine detachment to be ready to roll the second he set foot in the hangar.

After walking authoritatively through the countless corridors and a couple elevators, Zeradias reached the hangar.  All was as it should be.  Boarding the nearest shuttle, he took a seat towards the holo-comm in the rear.  With a whir of the engines, the ships elevated and took off.  No fighters escorted the ships, at the behest of his executive officer.

"Control, Overlord Actual.", the pilot called to the local authority using Mant's personal callsign.  "Four shuttle craft requesting permission to land, please advise how to proceed.  Break.  Be advised, armed personnel are aboard as escorts for a dignitary of the Aegis Initiative and Iron Empire."

"Orders received, Actual." Kad bluntly replied over the com channel and transmitted the orders over to the rest of the platoon's feed on their HUD.

"Boy, we the damn circus or something ? Go up, go down, now shake it. Sheesh"

"You need to stop complainin', Zulu." Came Kad's quick reply to cut down complaints before they spread throughout the unit. He was as tired of escort missions as was everybody else but he had learned the hard way that a leader had to project only positive thoughts and discipline rather than his actual thoughts sometimes. Especially when you had overdue retirement sergeants such as Zulu.

At least that's what Kad believed in.

The armored men of Kad's platoon stood up straight besides each of the shuttles meant to go to the surface of Kamino. They awaited Overlord Actual to board before they could board as well. Standard military procedure and another boring day of escort duty. Beneath his helmet, the lieutenant rolled his eyes.

“Don’t mistake power for invulnerability Caalgen.” The voice was harsh, almost broken and came from the shadows near the rear of the throne room like a phantom in the mist. The body that moved with the announcement was almost just as broken, yet hid no pride or shame. Clad in the dark greys of Imperial Office, the man made himself known to the gathered.

The side of his face, torn and scared, a once piercing blue eye now stared out in a milky white mess. Burns had taken his flesh, grown back only with the expert hands of the Kamino doctors they now held under their sway. An arm, his left was missing from the shoulder, the uniform pinned to allow for a professional measure to still be taken by those who saw him. A limp, heavy yet supported by the cane in his still present hand did not hinder his approach towards the Emperor or his weapon specialists. Time would be given to the others as it allowed itself to be taken, but he had been summoned here, and to summon him was to be seriously invested in his time.

“My Emperor.” He tilted his head slightly, the one blue eye he had allowing the determination on his face to be known. “I would apologise for my lateness, however I have been…” He gave the Emperor a knowing look. “Busy.”

He then stood. Quiet and still, a shadow of his former self yet more focused, more in touch with what he needed to do.

The Galaxy was still his for the taking, even if it had thrown him away and not given him a second thought.

You’d need to try harder then an exploding ship to rid the galaxy of Aram Kalast.

The Emperor's eyes looked over the design that Director Caalgen had brought to him excitedly "Excellent, Director. The resources will be diverted for you to construct a prototype so I may see a demonstration of its power. Only th-" Graf started before being interrupted by multiple people. He was extremely pleased to see High Colonel and Grand Inquisitor Morcus as well as Intelligence Director Kalast, but was confused to see naval Commander Vanyan. The old man deactivated the massive holoprojector and sat back, relaxing into his dark throne, it was simple but commanded respect, not extravagant like other emperors before him. He nodded to Directors Caalgen, Kalast, and Inquisitor Morcus, silently telling them to mingle amongst themselves while he dealt with the trio.

A glint of malice appeared in the Emperor's eyes for a moment as he examined Commander Vanyan, a hologram, and what appeared to be a guard. "And why would I sign over the production of our armaments over to Kesh, we already have hundreds of thousands of DC-15ABs from our very own shipyards, as well as many more being produced at Void Station. Unless...you are proposing a change...Commander..." The Emperor said calmly.

-----

An Imperial officer appeared over the command console that engineers were working at as communications came in from the Iron Empire delegates. "This is the Imperial Control Tower, permission to land granted at Platform 4, please disembark, enter, and await your audience with his excellency, the Emperor." He reported in an authoritive voice. Meanwhile, An engineering team ran out onto the platform in the rain, preparing to refuel the shuttles as bright, blinking lights would direct the shuttlecrafts to their designated landing sight.

Max was outside on a landing platform, getting something from his ship. He had copied some data from the Imperial archives back on Bastion, and brought over some delicacies that he thought would bring a sense of...Comfort to Kamino.

Stepping out of the ship, the all familiar rain of Kamino flowed down his Imperial Knight armour. Taking long strides, he made his way to his office and placed down the items with a thud. "Sir, a meeting is beginning with the Emperor" a secretary informed him. Max quickly went to open a container of liquor and poured a glass, downing it. Looking outside, it seemed they had some visitors.

Arriving outside the Emperor's room, he greeted the guards with a raised hand as they opened the door. Entering, he saw the group of high profile figures mingling. Certainly this would be a more important meeting than usual.

Caalgen smirked as the Emperor praised his design for the Conqueror-class Star Destroyer, but that smirk devolved into scowled once the other director appeared "Don't mistake 'invulnerability' for superiority, Kalast." He growled nodding to the latter's disfigured face, a sign of his supposed death caused by Kathol Outback agents. His attention turned away from his grizzled comrade, as Baron Morcus and some unknown Imperial soon after. The director quickly deactivated his holoprojector and placed it in his pocket, under the confines of his cape. He returned the nod from his Emperor, and moved away from the throne next to the window overlooking the planet-wise ocean.

His thoughts turned away from the events unfolding in the throne room as he observed the Iron Empire ship coming into the atmosphere, thinking of twenty different designs that could obliterate it. His job after all, as Director of Advanced Weapons Research, was to find creative but powerful ways for the Remnant to destroy its enemies, it didn't help that Imperial Intelligence was breathing down his neck about the security of these designs. They were as safe as could be, stored in the vaults of the floating city.

It wasn't like those rebel scum could get it anyway.

Receiving the appropriate clearance for landing, the BV-47A shuttles proceeded to their mark.  Between the sounds of the heavy rainfall pelting the hull and the pounding of his heart, Zeradias looked forward to what would transpire.  It was time for the Iron Empire to enter the galactic stage truly, and it was a perfect opportunity to push his initiative forward.

He could feel the speed of the shuttle come to a slow as it descended onto a landing platform.  The rain continued to fall hard, and it became loudly apparent as the shuttle doors opened to reveal dark clouds plastering the skies.  It was difficult to even discern the time of day, at least at this hour.  Making haste to stay dry, he exited the shuttle and walked speedily to the interior of one of Tipoca City's many structures.  It was a sudden shift from the dreary outdoors to the bright white corridors that took Zera a solid few seconds to adjust.

Soon after his entry, his small entourage of officers and marine security detail entered.  Only a few remained at the shuttles to stand guard.  They'd probably appreciate staying on the shuttles, provided the dry shelter.

With a long corridor stretching ahead and several closed doors, Zera wondered where their guests were.  The cautious part of him said wait, but the adventurous part said set forth and explore.  That's exactly what he did.  Roaming forward followed by his PSD, he looked curiously at the architecture of the building, as well as for anyone who might be associated with the Imperial Remnant.  After a short while, a pair of white armor clad stormtroopers met them in the hall to escort them to where they would meet the emperor.  Splendid.

Mahan watched the almost hypnotizing process of the early clone development on Kamino. It was almost endless, seeing all those babies, moving back and forth, being prepared to serve their Empire. It was a beautiful sight, but Mahan had his own reservations about the clones. He was a purist on recruitment for his Naval troopers, knowing some of the disadvantages and defects of low tier clone soldiers, but after some fierce debate, he had eventually compromised on allowing his own crack division of Naval Commandos, the only SOF units of the Imperial Navy, to be comprised of clone elites, with a few exemplary recruited soldiers in the mix. But those very soldiers were not being created before him, no, these were to be the grunts of the Remnant, the Stormtrooper Corps, at least the enlists. Emperor Graf had been stalwart on the use of clones in his prized corps, and once he had his mind set on something, it would take a sun crusher to change his mind. This was one of the many reasons Mahan liked Graf, a stubborn man knew what he wanted, and that was better than any kind of inconclusive leader.

But Mahan had not joined the IR for that reason alone. He had joined the Remnant because he knew it was going somewhere, somewhere where he could hold a lot of power, and truly bring order and an end to anarchism. He had joined only a short time ago, convincing the Emperor to appoint him Grand Admiral of the Imperial Fleets, his very successor, using his thirty five years of experience leading planetary defense forces and system union fleets, and his authoritative leadership style. Now, he was a High Moff, part of the Command Triumvirate, and the Grand Admiral, overseer of the entire Imperial Navy. More power than he had ever wielded for the various planetary governments, and it felt good.

Mahan was approached by his aide, a Lieutenant Jak'in, "Grand Admiral, shuttles with Iron Empire transponders are landing at Platform Four." Mahan mulled over the information for a moment, "Why was I not informed there were Iron Empire vessels that had entered the orbit?" The Lieutenant began to stutter, "S-sir, the E-emperor had already handled the matter, I t-thought-" Mahan took a tight grip of Jak'in's throat with his rather long fingers, "As Grand Admiral of the entire Imperial Fleet, wouldn't you care to assume that I would like to know whether foreign vessels enter the very system I reside in?" Jak'in only gaped for breath, no audible sound could be heard. Mahan freed the Lieutenant's throat form his grip, brushing his hand off on his uniform breast, Mahan strode towards the exit as Jak'in fell to his knees, drawing deep breathes. Jak'in looked up, "Sir, I will not fail you again." Mahan sneered, "Of course you won't." Unholstering his side arm, he squeezed to blasts into Jak'in before he could react. Two fleet troopers, Mahan's personal escort, walked in and began to carry out the body to where it would be disposed of properly. "Hapless fool."  Mahan muttered under his breath.

Another officer approached, Mahan giving him orders before passing the ensign by, "Prepare a shuttle for the spaceport, inform local traffic services of my immediate arrival." The ensign saluted, "Yes sir," Before attending to what he was ordered, noticing the limp body of Lieutenant Jak'in. None avoided Mahan's wrath.

Kalast approached Caalgen as he missed his retort, a twisted grimace malforming his face even further then it already appeared. Aram did not suffer rivals. He waited until he was shoulder to shoulder with the weapons Director before pausing his advance. “Oh I assure you Caalgen, my superiority was established the moment I stepped into the room.” He would continue onwards leaving Travis with his words.

His attention would be taken up by the skyline of Kamino, the heavy storms almost a constant on the planet. It made a sombre atmosphere for the events of the Remnants resurgence. He had contemplated in the founding years of the First Order upon taking this planet and forcing an army out of the scientist natives, yet they had not had the chance and settled on the youth training methodds instead. It had shown such promise, now that ambition was a dead fish, the First Order a rotting corpse on the backwaters of the galaxy requesting peoples cooperation. They would never realise like Aram did, the people of the galaxy did not want to be asked, they wanted to be told, to be forced and to be ruled.

The Remnant understood that far more then their predecessor.

Now wasn’t the time for thoughts, nor was it time for rivalry. He had a job to do and so did Director Caalgen, which made them allies under the Emperor’s command.

“I have read the reports on the early Conqueror tests.” Aram opened the conversation as the two of them stared out over the waves. “It is impressive to say the least. However while I have issued orders for weapons tests to take place of immediate effect I have had some thoughts on the particular methods of this test.”

Aram handed a small data chip across to the Director.

“While we have already determined that the weapon is effective within the fields tested we wish to see more numbers in the uses of the weapon against built up insurgent areas. I have put all the requested material on that chip along with the co-ordinates to a small mining colony within Rishi. We have already established a tibanna gas mining company there that employs a couple of thousand families. Nothing to elaborate, however we strive to see the results.” He paused, waiting for objection. “Gas explosions can be devastating for such small communities.”

He knew that Caalgen would object in some way, but he also knew that the weapon’s director wouldn’t hesitate at a chance to show of his tools destructive power for the Emperor’s personal observation.

Edric waited silently while the others in the room talked or showed themselves, his hand touching at the corner of his pants as a signal for the AI in human skin to approach him, handing him a datapad and for him to bring it up to his eyes where he could read it more clearly. Once addressed he would begin to speak with his voice being more than clear and having more than enough confidence behind it. The Empire was not a place for weakness and while he was clear with his words, he would not interchange confidence with disrespect.

"I have no intention of suggesting that you should move production of your weapons or ships of fame to Kesh, as I would never suggest such considering it would mean for those on the outside to view it as your attempting a coup of the far closer galactic powers. What I am suggesting is future production and a contract which would allow for non-imperial and second generation designs to be easily manufactured and sold to the Imperial Remnants." He made sure to make the word sold sound formal but it was clear that he meant for the Imperial Remnants to receive the ships at much cheaper than he would suggest to the outside universe.

"Imperial ships are markers of power and influence, but not always the most efficient in their abilities. With that said, my engineers have been working on two projects in good faith of a contract being signed. The first is a second generation model of the former Ark Hammer project, one that would split the production among three ships with stealth technology to compensate for the errors in the original Ark Hammer's design. Secondly, we are working on a third generation Pellaeon, one that would provide the Remnants with a main battle line star destroyer able to take down the toughest of enemies in prolonged slugging matches. Along with this, all former Keshiri drive works droids, ships and vehicles would be available to your people, ships I have been integrating into my own force as you very well know and a multitude of designs and purposes that man cannot complete as easily."

His voice cut out while he reach back to give the echani girl the datapad back and then returned to his position looking at the Emperor. "A fresh supply chain, protected by the strongest governments in the Kathol region, with impartialness on the outside of things. Able to produce craft at levels which you will not be able to, considering your current population and abilities even with void station and Kamino. Both of which are in need of more complete securing and rebuilding to provide the Remnants with the power it can achieve through them. I am not suggesting you revert all production to Kesh, and instead merely expand your options for production and design."

The Emperor gave the naval commander a smile "Excellent, Commander. If Kesh is willing to produce for the Imperial Remnant, then it would be foolish of me to decline. You may proceed, but please make sure to inform our Grand Admiral beforehand, I believe he should have a say in the ships that serve in 'his' Navy." He mentioned "But, now, if you will excuse me. I sense that our guests have arrived."

And with that, the Emperor motioned towards the door as stormtroopers escorted the Iron Empire delegates into his throne room. Graf rose from the seat "Welcome to the seat of the Imperial Remnant, gentlemen. I am Emperor Tanomas Graf, to what do we owe this unexpected pleasure?" He queried, as his senior officers would gather around him.

Empires could work together, Graf would make sure of it.

After being escorted by the pair of stormtroopers, they entered a large throne room.  Anything less for a new empire would be disappointing.  As he was greeted by the Emperor of the Imperial Remnant itself, Zeradias continued forward to the foot of the throne where he'd meet the emperor in the flesh up and close.

It appeared though that his visit was a bit of a surprise, which almost surprised Zeradias.  Having subjugated Kamino and sponsoring a military movement on Christophsis certainly raised eyebrows throughout the galaxy.  The Aegis Initiative noted promise in this group-turned-empire and sought to inquire about the prospect of a relationship moving forward.  What kind - that would be determined in the minutes that ensue.

With a brief bow of respect, he brought his icy gaze into the eyes of the emperor as he greeted him.  "Emperor Tanomas, a pleasure.  Rear Admiral Zeradias Mant of the Aegis Initiative, Iron Empire Navy.", he introduced, citing all his relevant affliations.  "We've been watching your empire for a good while now.  Now that things seem to be more...stable, we thought it was a good time to reach out."

He smiled subtly, mostly a courtesy.  He knew nothing of the people he visited, save for their imperial nature.  That would change soon, however.
