The Reconstruction and Relief branch of Alderaan Engineering designed the RR1 Emergency Habitat to be three things. Cheap, Simple, and Usable.
Its construction is very easy, using a rubberized insulated exterior around a liquid Duracrete layer. The duracrete layer had several alusteel collapsable support rods within it to aid with maintaining its shape in harsh conditions such as high wind and heavy rain. With the use of a pull cord, the habitat inflates, mixing the liquid duracrete and allowing it to set into a solid structure.
Inside the habitat, it is fitted with basic light fixtures, all the pipes required for basic plumbing made from a flexible material, a sonic-clean refresher, electric heating element, and basic climate control (basic heating and air conditioning) all powered by Photo-Absorbent solar paneling on the roof or can be connected to a generator. There is enough living space for four individuals to sleep comfortably, and space for eight in cramped conditions.
The habitats are made so that they can be built in rows, stacked atop one another, and configured as necessary to provide appropriate housing for short or long term reconstruction projects. When torn down, the walls can be cut and used as concrete slabs for more permanent facilities. Some models are two bedroom modules instead of single communal bedroom.
- Instant Apartment: With just the pull of a cord the Hab module can inflate, and within 15 minutes the liquid duracrete has set inside the insulated exterior lining, providing enough living space for 4 individuals that can be constructed into make-shift apartment buildings very quickly.
- Non-Military Grade: The Liquid Duracrete isn’t designed to be a bunker or pillbox. Its designed to be basic living area.
- Instant House
