DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES

CFE-G2MK7 built upon the inspiration and designs of the CFE-G1 works to do what the first generation did but better. This time the engine works on ships to up 880m as opposed to 200m now that PVS has more considerable funding to devote to the project. It works to improve overall engine efficiency by utilizing permafrost crystals (a readily available resource on Hoth). These crystals are then put into a crystal fusion chamber and allowed to have their properties utilized by the engine. These permafrost crystals act as a heatsink, drawing heat away from critical components and enable turbolaser systems to fire at a higher rate and with improved cutting power.

 

In short: CFE-G2MK7 is an improved design over the CFE-G1, and works to promote a healthier, cooler engine. Permafrost crystals work as a heat sink, drawing heat away from critical components enabling the engine to perform more efficiently.

 

Strengths:

  • Efficiency: Just as its predecessor the Crystal Fused Engine works to improve overall efficiency. This translates into over improved ship power as the crystal fused chamber works to keep the engine cool, so too are the ship’s critical components also able to keep cooler. As there is less heat within the ship’s overall infrastructure.

Weaknesses:

  • Frozen: The CFE-G2MK7 suffers from the same fatal flaws as its predecessor, something the PVS Engineers tried to correct but at the moment. It seems they may have exacerbated the problem. As stress increases on the engine (units) the chances of it blow back, causing a system wide shutdown increases.

DESCRIPTION

Primo Victorian Shipwright engineers studied the first generation in action and with a swath of reports available to them. They began to make improvements and the first of which would be to create a new type of fusion chamber. This new fusion chamber subjected the permafrost crystals to a type of high frequency to create an electromagnetic field. When placed with hypermatter, the fused reaction created a type of plasma. PVS Engineers then called this “Frost Plasma.” As the color of the plasma reminded them of Hoth’s permafrost environment. FP was then channeled through specially made conduits through a FPS or a Frost Plasma System this system leads to injectors that regulate the flow of FP throughout the engine. The injected FP pulled heat away from critical components of the engine itself.

 

Several of these engines or “units” as referred to by PVS Engineers can be installed together on a wide array of ships from the smaller attack craft to mid-sized cruisers. Only up to 1000m and the reason being that after 1000m right between this and 1001m, it did not seem to matter what kind of tweaking the engineers did. It would result in catastrophe. And so it is recommended that the engine be installed on ships no larger than 880m to allow a ‘cushion’ of breathing room for any engineer that has to handle this unit.
