ROTHANA SYSTEM, QUIBERON SECTOR

851 ABY - THE EXPANSION

"Transmission sent, Admiral."

Cardan was glad to hear these words, the message he sent would've given the Imperial Starfleet some semblance of what was about to happen. The Vong vessel was approaching at remarkable speeds, but it was still a couple hundred kilometres away from the Vice Admiral's armada. "Contact the agents on that ship in any way. Get them to get off of it before or while the fleet engages this monstrosity." Gromm fumed, straightening up from his slouched position and bringing up several displays around his throne.

His ears quivered as the chief gunnery officer's voice came over the bridge intercom, informing them that the vessel had closed to ninety kilometres. Cardan's composure had returned by now, no matter what damage this unknown threat might cause, the Empire would always prevail in the end. "Commence long-range fire at fifty kilometres, it won't destroy the ship but it'll act as a suitable distraction for our comrades to escape." He strategized, steepling his fingers together as he formulated battle tactics in his head.

The admiral's head snapped to an overview of the ship's firing arcs, watching as the long-range batteries installed on the Providence lined up for their shot at the object moving towards them. The ship was at sixty kilometres now, soon enough the fleet would go up in a spectacular light show, but the moment still hadn't come yet.

Fifty.

"FIRE!"

ROTHANA SYSTEM, QUIBERON SECTOR

The Yuuzhan Vong Starship that the Bounty Hunters, Inquisitor, Prisoner, Death Troopers and Inferno Squad found themselves on rocked violently once the Imperial Fleet began to engage it. The man equipped in Mandalorian Armour stood inside the gargantuan vessels bridge, the fleshy interior remaining a constant as the green turbo lasers began impacting with it. All of this witnessed from the bridge's viewport. Surely they wouldn't destroy with them inside it, now would they? Wrong, they certainly would, this ship posed a significant threat and if not treated as one plenty of damage could be sustained.

The only thought that came to Koda Fett was that of escape, but how, he didn't know how anything on this ship worked and it was hardly the time to begin learning. As for the Death Troopers, well, they were on their own. The Bounty Hunter couldn't care less for their lives and would much rather see them dead than himself. No help from him would come today. Was he a coward? No, he just knew what it takes to survive. For now, Koda kept his stare focused on the Imperial Fleet ahead of him; thinking, scheming, devising, planning. Whatever it was that would get him off of this cursed vessel.

Perhaps if he could blow a hole in this viewport he would be sucked out, and then from there he could be picked up by the Concord Spear, then the tricky part was that of avoiding the turbo laser fire. But still, maybe he could escape with the Death Troopers. It would all depend on how their armour held up in the vacuum of space, and if they could even make it aboard. Without a jetpack they would only have one shot, but surely they could get it done.

"Plant explosives on that viewport."

Fett ordered after turning to face them, keeping his right arm somewhat behind him as he pointed at the viewport in question. By the way in which it sounded it appeared as if he was in charge. At least C'artyom had made it sound as such, with any luck, they would do as he said.

Desmond received a transmission shortly before the Imperial fleet engaged. He glanced antsly about the fleshy reactor room. There was only one way in and one way out, and Desmond could hear the muffled sound of several footsteps approaching. They were not going to make it off the ship in time. Desmond looked quickly to Ghoul

“Are those explosives ready?” He asked the clone

“Was it red red green or red red blue…” Came Ghouls reply to which Desmond merely sighed.

“All teams, head back to the stealth ship!” Desmond growled into a open comm channel.

“Done!” Ghoul cried out triumphantly

“Activate stealth now!” Desmond hissed into his comms.

Suddenly he and squad would disappear from the naked eye. They meandered towards the fleshy door way and stacked up on either side. Hopefully the bounty hunter was smart enough to hide. Five Vong entered the room and the door slid open for a moment. Inferno One slipped through just as the Vong began inspecting the reactor. Blow it. Desmond thought to his comrades and immediately afterwards ghoul raised a detonator. He pressed the big red button and it was followed by a muffled boom from the other room.

Inferno One made their way through the fleshy ship halls and back into the hangar. They found Skobra’s mercs waiting around the shuttle and deactivated stealth.

“Everyone back aboard your shuttles,” Desmond ordered.

Then the Yuuzhan Vong ship began to quake violently. The Imperial fleet had engaged. Desmond cursed and with a twirl of his fingers ordered his squad to set up defensive positions around the ship. Hopefully they wouldn't have to wait for the others long...

Location: Yuuzhan Vong Battlecruiser, Rothana System

Status: Retrieving Data, Exfiltrating Vessel

"Exfiltration from vessel is highly recommended, sir.", barked one of Skobra's clone mercenary-soldiers, like an audible machine. "The Imperial Navy is engaging."

"I'm well aware.", spoke Skobra, tapping away on the terminal of the electronic warfare that housed the information that was deemed valuable for the mission, as the robustly disciplined soldier continued to stare at the behind of Skobra absentmindedly; "Quit looking at me like that like some I'm some kind of goddamn alien. Maintain perimeter; I'm almost finished.", barked back Skobra, as the clone-soldier turned his back to maintain the already established perimeter among the rest of the fireteam.

Skobra continued to navigate throught the terminal, it wasn't long before he came across both the logs of automated and unautomated ship communications, maintenance, and operations that he'd been sent to retrieve for Imperial Intelligence. Kirk didn't exactly know why Imperial Intelligence wanted the information. He left it merely to speculation that wandered idly in the back of his mind, as Kirk knew especially well, with his experience, that it wasn't his responsibility to ask those kinds of questions. "Got it.", spoke Skobra finally, as he ejected a thumb drive from one of the ports on the exterior of the terminal, and tucked it into one of his pockets of his assault vest. "Let's move, Aurek.", Kirk placed a hand to his earpiece; "Besh Team, what's your status?", inquired Skobra, through the comm channel, as Aurek Team rushed through the manifold corridors to eventually find themselves back in the hangar from whence they landed.

"We're all green.", reported back one of the clone henchmen; "The external team located us; they ordered for all teams back inside their shuttles."

"Disregard.", ordered Kirk, of his men, "Prep pilots for takeoff, but stand-by and hold positions. Aurek Team is making there way back as we speak. This might end up being a tight fit.", spoke Kirk in an annoyed tone of voice, as he detested anyone getting involved in his professional business, as he saw it as an insult to his experience and personal nerve. It would be something a little less than a minute, before Aurek Team would return to their transport for extract.

"Besh Team copies loud and clear, Aurek Actual.", retorted back one of the clone-soldiers in a nigh robotic tone of voice, "Standing-by."

DT-2417
Call-sign Pestilence Actual
Post One
Objective: Exfiltration through unconventional means.

Naturally, the Bounty Hunter who saw himself as the leader of the team on the bridge began barking his orders to Pestilence as soon as the Imperial Fleet started firing upon the Vong vessel. In truth, he could have easily saved his breath, knowing that their shuttle was within the Imperial Fleet that was now raining fire upon them and with the Chiss Agent probably taking his shuttle and getting out of harms way as quickly as possible, there was only one way out which coincidentally the Bounty Hunter had already pointed out. Whilst assumptions could be made on who was in command of the team, as far as DT-2417 was concerned, he had no express orders to ensure the safety of the Bounty Hunter and whilst servitude was a high priority on his list, when it came to a split between saving the life of an eventually expendable asset or his men, the choice was quite obvious. Extending his hand and emitting the garbled transmission, Pestilence got to work setting up the charges upon the viewport whilst the Captain himself got on his communicator, making contact with the fleet. Whilst the Bounty Hunter had his own ship, there was no guarantee that he would allow Pestilence aboard. Whilst his time in proximity of the Bounty Hunter had been limited at best, DT-2417 had observed how he acted, twisting situations for his benefit and survival rather than that of the Empire and that was the difference between them; Pestilence was willing to die in the service of the Empire in order to achieve its objectives whilst the Bounty Hunter? Would probably find his first chance to flee.

Emotions weren't part of it and DT-2417 rarely shared his opinion even with his own men, most mission parameters didn't call for it. It made for dull off-duty conversations but Pestilence's skill and capabilities on task couldn't be disputed. Zealous will and indoctrination of service till the bitter end, even when everything was turned against them, that was what made up the core of Pestilence's doctrine. And on that right day, the Death Troopers would fight to the very end to defend the territories and the people of the Galactic Empire in the name of their Emperor.

Today, however, was not that day. The Empire did not need their dead among the organic wreckage of the Vong ship and DT-2417 shared that sentiment.

With the charges set, Pestilence stacked up and prepared themselves in quite a unique manner. They seemed to group together and link, as if to create a ladder once they inevitably blasted into the black void of space once the order was given to detonate. From the viewport, a Lambda-Class Shuttle was seen coming into view in front of the bridge. Whilst the weapons on the hostile ship were no doubt going to be occupied with the larger targets, the shuttle would easily slip up and catch Pestilence and carry them back to the Imperial Fleet to await further orders. Garbled transmissions between the Death Troopers were followed by the detonation of the charges, making their opening and access to the shuttle a simple slingshot, which is where the unique ladder came in handy. Throwing the chain of troopers to the shuttle, so began the process of quickly getting everyone aboard.

The Bounty Hunter, who probably had a plan of sitting in space and waiting for his ship to pick him up, would soon find the Captain moving to grab him and bring him inside the shuttle alongside the rest. Probably not the solitude the Hunter desperately wanted and thrived upon and the fact that he was saved rather than saving himself would more likely than not leave a sting deep down under the Mandalorian armor. Differences aside, DT-2417 had a core belief, something that he kept as a core part of his doctrine on every mission he and Pestilence undertook. Fett and Pestilence worked together to achieve their objectives and when it came to exfiltration, this belief came into play.

Never leave a man behind.

The Bounty Hunter watched on as the Death Troopers riddled the viewport with explosives that would soon allow their escape. During the process a button was pressed on his gauntlet, and doing so caused the Concord Spear to start up once again, departing from the hangar of the organic Yuuzhan Vong Vessel and up towards the bridge in which they were present. As the process neared completion those that were finished began linking together, it seemed as if they had their own plan, and just before the explosives were set off the Captain of them reached out towards Fett, only to be quite literally slapped away.

The life of a Bounty Hunter wasn't as glamorous as it seemed, it was an isolated existence in which there was no trust, there was no compassion, and there was always money to be made. Perhaps the Death Trooper was exhibiting some sort of compassion by attempting to bring Koda with them, but of course it was dismissed, nobody could help him but himself. The assumptions of said Death Trooper were also correct, he was not loyal to the Empire and instead only their credits, and as he saw Fett as an expendable asset the same sentiment was shared by the Mandalorian but instead it were the Death Troopers that were expendable. Perhaps that is why he was so successful, he valued nobody's life more than his own.

As the charges detonated pieces of glass and metal as well as the Death Troopers and Bounty Hunter were sucked out into space. Their linked arms allowed them safely aboard, but the Concord Spear came for Fett. Swinging it's way past with it's ramp lowered and door opened. Objects that weren't bolted down had come sailing out, but there weren't many, he wasn't one for possessions. His jetpack was activated, correcting any mistakes in his course that would ultimately prove successful. Landing within the interior of the Firespray as sparks flew from his boots when he landed feet first, skidding across the ground.

The door was closed as Koda spoke to the on-board AI that could perform menial tasks. Clambering his way up towards the cockpit, assuming control of the vessel and flying it in the direction of the Imperial Fleet, but instead flying below the fire for he hardly trusted them to watch their fire and not blow him away.

Varik Ice

Equipment: Lightsaber - Inquisitor Robes

Location: Mysterious Ship

OouWALC.jpg

U9O1E36.png

Varik had never felt more alone, and quiet, than he did now. As he marched through the fleshy corridor of the ship, he couldn't feel a thing from any of the seemingly alive architecture around him. It was similar to the feeling of having his hands over his ears; he could still hear, but there was nothing he could make out. Varik kept his lightsaber deactivated, but still in his hand as he approached a corner, peeking around a wall. He furrowed his brow, seeing what he would have to deal with. There were two Vong standing near a door, further down. A resounding hum came from the behind the door, and it had to be some kind of generator; Varik figured that was as close as he was going to get to an engine.

He considered his options - the way ahead was too open to get the drop on the two, and this was their environment. He could see it shifting beneath his feet, and knew they would be accustomed to such an issue; he wasn't. With that, and being outnumbered if he were to move in, he didn't fancy his chances. The prisoner and droid could be of help, but he couldn't assume their abilities; and he was not about to rely on them, not here. He considered a technique he'd been working on, and figured it may be his best option. Raising the hilt, he activated his saber as he turned the corner.

The white blade ignited and lit up the space as he suddenly threw the weapon forward; it didn't spin, as many force users did with their sabers, but went straight forward, holding position perfectly as it careened towards the two Vong, who only noticed seconds too late what was happening. The blade carved a whole straight through the foreheads of both soldiers, Varik reaching out with the force to bring the weapon shooting back into his open and waiting hand. The two guards collapsed dead on the floor, and Varik kept the ignited weapon low as he approached the fetid doorway. It seemed to leak odd grime and an almost effluvial smell that continued through the entire corridor.

Varik decided not to waste any more time admiring the scenery, stepping in through the doorway and towards the large engine. He glanced back to Nadia and the droid, motioning to them. "Clear the way to the shuttle." They only needed one to plant the bomb, after all. He looked further into the room, and the stench and sights were only worse. Trying to focus, he approached the large, fleshy engine and placed the device onto it, tapping on a few choice buttons. Red, green, red. He remembered it quite easily, though he wondered who could really forget it.

The Inquisitor rushed out of the room, his saber still ignited as he heard the sound of boots running his way farther down the corridor. He knew he couldn't waste time fighting them, and he only thought it more as he heard Desmond's voice over comms. Though he thought he would be there soon, he was unfortunately mistaken. As he travelled into one of the rooms not far from the shuttle bay, he stared towards four warriors, dressed in armour like those of the guards he'd killed earlier. They fiddled with their weapons as they approached him, and Varik spoke into his communicator. "Give me a moment." With luck, that would be all he needed.

Rear Admiral Jotham Noktis

Rothana System

851 ABY

Rear Admiral Noktis stood at the helm of the bridge of the INV Deliberation Praetor Star Battlecruiser. He pensively – albeit anxiously – kept his arms folded together, with a clenched fist placed under his chin for support, in a sophisticated fashion. He had obviously not planned for an entire expeditionary force to emerge as the offspring of a battlecruiser from just a mere nebula, no man could’ve – not even Jotham – who possessed the insatiable desire to prove himself at all levels, almost to a narcissistic extent. It was the same primal drive that had shoved him forward in producing a successful career in the academic world, and it was the same drive that was pushing him forward on the battlefield as well.

Likewise, to say that he had planned for this disastrous of a situation would be a blatant lie. The Yuuzhon Vong force of this size was completely anomalous in the grand scheme of things. Noktis was out of his element, and he knew it too. The thought of possibly losing this engagement due to Jotham’s lack of preparedness itched in the back of his mind like a rash itself – he was getting anxious. Although his cool and calm exterior masked his underlying emotions, it was especially unlike him. The fleshy appearance of the battle-cruiser didn't bother him, but it was the fear of failure that captivated him the most in his heart. However, at the forefront of his thoughts, were him formulating a variety of flexible tactics that would allow for him to adapt on-the-fly to the Yuuzhon Vong Battlecruiser, along with any possibility of escape. It was the best he could do, and that was a phrase Jotham disliked using, as it implied uncertainty of performing a task to its requirements.

Jotham held his posture. It wouldn’t be long before the distance between the Vong Battlecruiser and the Imperial fleet would erupt into a spectacle of light. His bridge crew sat at the inch of their seats, anxiously awaiting the oncoming cruiser, “Proceed with engaging the enemy battle-cruiser at fifty kilometers. Remain flexible and vigilant.”, ordered Noktis, of his men and women, in a precise manner of speech, as the firing systems began to line up their shots on the battlecruiser. In synchronization with the rest of the fleet, the Deliberation inched forward in the line. Eighty kilometers were spun quickly into seventy kilometers, and soon to sixty, and finally – to fifty.

It was then the proverbial dogs of were let loose, in an infernal display of light and violence.

Every second of silence that passed made the already tense room tenser. Blips on the consoles occasionally broke the silence as Max and others in the room peered over, observing the mission aboard the Yuuzhan Vong ship.

Turning on a lighter, he lit a Shento Cigar. The exhaled smoke floated to the roof before being sucked away by the air scrubbers.

A louder alert was followed by a slight shuddering aboard the ship. The first turbolasers had been fired. Max glanced over to another officer "Any notable reports from Imperial sectors?"

"Nothing to report, Sir."

Remembering to check up on the homefront every once in a while whilst at the battlefront was something he tried to keep in mind. Previous history had shown that it was all too easy to being narrowly focused.

I.N.V. VENGEANCE, DEEP SPACE

851 ABY

Looks of uncertainty were cast around the bridge as the sound of choking filled the air. Two black-uniformed Imperial navy troopers flanked an individual on his knees, clawing at his throat desperately as an invisible Force grasped it. Before the individual stood a man in dark, billowing robes with an outstretched hand that was almost entirely curled into a fist. "So it would seem a remnant of the old Rebellion still persists in Wild Space. The Bothawui theatre was not as decisive as the Moff Council would've thought." Drakar spoke in a sinister tone.

The high inquisitor bent over, his face mere inches away from that of the rebel he was currently choking. "I must extend my sincere recognition of your efforts. If you hadn't allowed your pitiful self to be caught, the Rebellion would remain in the Empire like the plague it is." He informed maliciously, running his tongue over his upper lip. In a swift movement, his occupied hand snapped into a fist and a sickening crunch rang out as the rebel's throat was crushed.

The faces of his crewmen were unabashed, this was a regular occurrence for the Inquisitorius and even then a rebel always deserved it, Inquisitor Drakar was never stupid enough to harm his own men purposely. "Admiral," Drakar began, straightening up and motioning for the navy troopers to dispose of the body, "Prepare the Vengeance for hyperspace and inform the Emperor of our destination."

"And what would that be, my Lord?" Rear Admiral Jantsk queried, standing idly behind the inquisitor.

"Dressel."

Acclamator Transport A/C-1337

Deep Warp

The shimmering grey hull of a newly retrofitted Acclamator thundered through hyperspace passing the blue swirl at a true rate of speed towards the new site of conquest yet the once great class of warship is now less likely to see a battle than administrator droids. For the A/C-1337 that was almost certain of its assignment for this mission, yet for its highest ranking officer, the odds were very much the other way around.

A young supply officer of no more than 20 years of age spoke in a high tone and irregularly rushed speaking pattern. His grey uniform attaching him to the imperial navy yet the man who listens intently upon the bridge stands in an olive drab of the Imperial Ground forces in full dress accompanied to his left breast was the rank pin of captain.

"All ammunition checks come back complete sir. Cargo bays one and two have been loaded for surface deployment of Rapier Company. The rest of the bays are being loaded with Infantry vehicles and supply equipment."

"Thank you, ensign. Please inform the platoon leaders of this information and have it uploaded to the ships data banks. You have been of great use to me these past few days and I look forward to working with you again, you can be sure that I will pass along my considerations to your commanding officer."

His voice was not loud however its depth of pitch let it carry across the quiet working bridge akin to how a bird might glide off a mountainside. The smooth authority it carried within the core world accent held every breath feeling cold and calculated yet the vowel pronunciation resonated with that of a less prestigious upbringing. Either way, the ensign that listened dare not criticise of such a fact nor had it even crossed his mind with the talk of positive feedback being uttered, a smile on his face becoming visibly repressed.

Ah the untainted youth, yet to see a battle. So easily corrupted. One should never overlook the usefulness of junior officers.

Captain Athan Kain smiled at the end of his sentence the thoughts of how he could use this asset crossing his mind for a moment as the ensign showed his respects before marching away with a spring in his step, no doubt expecting Kain to have some sort of sway. How blind he was to Imperial politics.

"What is our estimated time of arrival at the Dressel system Flight Seargent?" Athan said inquisitively to the grey-clad officer sat on the ships primary navigational computer. His own face at a wince of disgust for the alien sat in his transport ship's navigators seat. However, Kain held a sense of respect in his mind for the Alien to rise much against the odds through the ranks to his current position but that is where he would likely stay. In his position, where he belonged.

The unchanged face of the Mon Calamari navigator responded "We are ten minutes away from releasing out of hyperspace now sir"

"Good, high inquisitor Drakar is not a man we want to keep waiting..."

Aboard the Vengeance

“Get set and ready for combat drop,”

Chief said solemnly as he hefted his DC-17 into the air. He slapped in a fresh clip and eyed his brothers warily. They were in various stages of prepping one another's armor. DC-17s lay strewn about the locker room benches prepped and ready for the kill. Arson finished helping Hacks get his pack on and strutted over to the bench. He hoisted one of the guns over his shoulder.

“Sir, I was born ready,” The clone said as he began to head towards the door.

Chief stifled a chuckle and simply nodded “Enigma set and ready,”

“CT-1104 copies Enigma, move to hangar Alpha. Prepare to move ahead of fleet,”

“You heard him, let's move out,”

U9_O1_E36_1.png

Dressel Orbit...

The drop bay of the FC-115 shook vehemently as it passed through the upper atmosphere of Dressel, still Enigma swayed with the quaking ship easily. They had been through multiple combat drop simulations, a little turbulence was nothing to them. Still chief hoped it didn't turn into something more… Explosive. His hand gripped the safety rail tightly as he looked around the drop bay. His brothers did the same and Chief nodded to each of them. As they drew near the planet's lower atmosphere the cabin became anew with light as a hologram took up the center of the ship, it was the blue form of CT-1104.

“Alright commandos. Your objective is simple, we’ve identified a key leader to the rebellions efforts on Dressel. His name is Halsey Yame. He is the head General leading operations here. Infiltrate his command structure and eliminate him. Get it done troopers,” The clone spoke briefly and then the ghostly blue image disappeared.

Shortly afterwards the ship seemed to slow and the bottom drop doors opened, but this time instead of delivering ion bombs the FC-115 was delivering a far more deadly package. Chief stared out the drop doors at the darkened forest below. Under the cover of night the commandos would make it to the Rebels base and destroy their high command. The ship stopped and Chief clipped a rope to the safety rail. He and squad repelled to the ground. The wind whistled through the open air, but otherwise all was quiet on this night. The Commandos touched ground and with a wave of Chief’s hand the squad began to make their way forward.

I.N.V. VENGEANCE, HIGH ORBIT OVER DRESSEL

PHASE I - NEGOTIATIONS

Inquisitor Drakar's fleet whipped into existence over the 'neutral' planet of Dressel, the dagger-shaped hulls of the battlecruiser Vengeance and its star destroyer brethren looming dangerously near the world's many shipyards. "The rebels are alerted to our presence, I can sense their fear." The high inquisitor hissed "No doubt they will attempt to counteract our efforts to secure an occupation of Dressel."

The Dark Jedi paced in front of the viewports, deep in thought. "General Darkrose," Drakar turned on the spot, addressing a female Imperial army officer, "Prepare your forces for occupation, but do not launch them until I give the order."

With that, the man left the bridge to head for the hangar bay. Inside, his own Delta-class shuttle awaited him, he proceeded by striding up the boarding ramp following by a squad of death troopers. After receiving coerced clearance from starship traffic control, it would land at the Dressellian senate building, which was considered to be the most important building on the planet.

Standing before the ramp again, Drakar hid his lightsaber beneath his robes as to conceal his true position on the Imperial hierarchy. Once disembarked, he and his death troopers were met with the site of the Dressellian chancellor and his aides approaching rather meekly towards the high inquisitor, obviously stressed by his sudden and unexpected arrival.

"Ah, yes. Chancellor Teerah, I am Moff Sonter, a representative from both the Imperial Diplomatic Corps and the Moff Council itself." Drakar lied eloquently, bowing respectfully as the alien man hobbled up to him.

"I must say, your presence is quite...unnatural here on Dressel, especially with what you've brought." The chancellor spoke, eyeing him and his bodyguards suspiciously, "I wasn't aware that the Moff Council was so interested in this planet, enough so to send one of its governors unannounced."

Drakar smiled at this, hiding a more insidious smirk behind the kind gesture "His Majesty has been worried lately of Dressel's current status, as well as the rumours that it had been suffering from certain unsavoury characters recently. He wished me to extend an offer that would be beneficial for both the Empire and Dressel."

The chancellor looked visibly shaken, the true meaning of veiled words obviously taking effect on him. "Very well," He managed, gathering his composure, "We will receive you in one of our officers, my droid here will guide you there while I prepare myself."

The 'moff' nodded, allowing himself to be lead by the droid to one of the offices. The plan was already in motion: once the chancellor had said his piece or given bumbling excuses as to why they should leave, the Imperial occupation would begin immediately.

The Plains, Dressel, Noolian Sector, Inner Rim Territories

A speeder made it's way across the plains, a civilian one. It had no armaments, but the two inside appeared like shady characters with a look of desperation expressed across their faces. One wore it's seatbelt whereas the other did not, so when an explosion rocked the two man speeder the man clad in blue clothing was flung forwards, skidding across the dirt and potentially breaking a bone or two whilst giving off a yelp of pain. The crimson clothed man appeared dazed and confused within the speeder, still strapped in but barely alive or so it seemed.

"Ugh, who...?" The man down in the dirt barely managed to get out, questioning on who had done this despite knowing it was inevitable. "You." He finalised, spotting the individual that stood before him. Speaking in a low and contemptuous tone that spilled hate.

Fett stood before him, looking down at him from five metres away with his blaster carbine in hand. "Of course." He replied, watching as the one in blue reached for his blaster pistol down in his holster. "I'd leave that where it was if I were you." Taking steps closer, eyeing him down, almost daring him to attack. The smoke from the crashed speeder still ascending into the air from not too far away, where the driver remain in a near unconscious state.

In rapid motion the wounded individual stood up, snatching at the blaster pistol and aiming it towards Koda, "Good thing you're not me." He exclaimed aggressively, but received a kick in the knee from the Bounty Hunter, causing him to crumble slightly before being bashed over the head with he butt of the carbine. Falling backwards, slumped against the speeder, hissing from the pain. "So this is how it is? We do the hard work of stealing that thing and you come along and just take it from us?"

A satchel nearby sat alone, and Koda moved towards it - grabbing at it's strap and lifting it up from the ground. "Something like that." Fett replied calmly, opening up the satchel by moving it over in a flicking manner and looping the strap up over his shoulder, only to have the other man bark back, "It's not yours to take, Fett. Vigo and I need it."

""Need" has nothing to do with it, Orlan. Now go pull your friend out of that crash." Flashing a pair of cuffs that Vigo would stand to snatch from his grip, placing them down on the crashed speeder before hauling Vigo out of the vehicle or whatever was left. Leaving him against the side of the speeder as the two become tied to it, effectively trapped. "You can't just leave us here!" Vigo yelled as he watched his attacker walk away.

"Maybe the Imperials will catch up to you before that fire does." His strides stepping into the plains once more, looking towards the hills in the distance as an explosion blasts from behind him, leaving Fett to comment once more, "Or not." Now the Imperial Documents he retrieved were in his hands, but with the diplomatic talks nothing too drastic could be done. And the people of Dressel's Government and Law Enforcement would no doubt be suspicious if a known Bounty Hunter's Vessel, especially that of one who worked frequently for the Empire had come and gone so quickly. So into town is where he was needed next, the very place his next stop was.

Acclamator Transport A/C-1337

Upper Dressel atmosphere

The stutter of warp dropped them instantly into a scene Athan had not experienced quite a while. A full imperial task force clad with capital ships and heavy cruisers alike. His own transport paled in comparison. Yet it had its purpose just like the rest to get his company on the ground.

"Sir landing procedures should take an estimated further five minutes before we are given clearance."

The information was hailed for all the bridge to hear from the chief communications officer.

"Acknowledged" Kain said turning away from the fore viewscreen to make eye contact with the first officer. "Senior Lieutenant the bridge is yours bring us in at the Delta designated landing zone and hold the deployment bays until you receive further word from the High Inquisitor."

He strode through the humming and busied corridors of the dropship. Droids and enlisted personal patrolling through the corridors each with a task to complete to allow the fine-tuned and slick war machine to work at maximum efficiency. His own quarters were no larger than any other officers. He had made sure that the extra space that would have been devoted to his own quarters had been put to good use as an upper deck security office, allowing for the Stormtrooper and ISB attaches a place of work during their stay aboard the ship, increasing their own work efficiency of course.

The plates slid into place as if tailor-made to his body the chest piece and helmet readied for an extended ground combat deployment, he just hoped that is what they would get out of this desolate scum-filled world. A chance to prove himself, to prove his new strategies and gain enough support to throw out the old. The old inefficient tactics used by an old and outdated empire full of corruption and cowardice. Well, not this empire and not this army. Dressel is where Kain would show his hand.

He entered the staging area to see the lines of looming war machines being checked and loaded by his hand-selected crew. The great cannons that took pride of place on top of each repulsor tank dwarfed any of the men around it. The once black imperial paint job had been resprayed to match the climate of the Dresselian homeworld. Greens and tans of endothermic paints covering the curving hull only the viewpoints and weapons still held the original patterning of black and white.

Kain's commlink light up and a voice came through as the ship jolted to a halt nearly sending a group of crewmen tumbling to the metallic floor. "Sir we have touched down"

Excellent, now the wait can begin.

"Ok gentlemen this is the hour for which Rapier company has been awaiting. Do not mess it up. Godspeed to you all. Load up!"

Chief and squad spread out through the thick forest fauna, the darkened moon light glinting off their matte black Katarn-Class commando armor. They were ghost in the night and they moved without making a sound despite the thick green brush. As the Commandos neared the edge of the forest Chief raised a fist. The commandos held fast as he brought his HUD’s ocular zoom up. He scanned the base of the mountain’s perimeter. There was an entrance to a cave amidst the rock formations and outside of it stood an armed guard.

“Location of rebel base confirmed half a klick from our position,” Chief spoke into his comms. “Permission to engage hostiles and begin elimination of HVTs,”

“Engage, but remember this is a covert operation. We aren't even suppose to be here yet,” CT-1104 spoke “Once the rebel high command is out of the picture we can launch the main occupational force with little resistance,” He finished.

Chief nodded and then regarded his comrades “You heard the man, activate stealth and let’s move,”

Suddenly the commandos would become invisible to the naked eye while photoreactive fibers mimicked their surroundings. Chief took point as the clones made their way forward through the rocky terrain that formed the bed of the mountain. They approached the cave cautiously and Chief shook his head. The guard was leaning on his rifle sound asleep.

“Sleeping on the job is gonna cost you,” Rev said into his external comms.

The rebel awoke with a start just as the commando placed a hand over his mouth and slid the knuckle plate dagger into his neck vertebrae. Rev guided the body to the ground and dragged it behind a rock outcropping. There was a slick dark smear where Rev had dragged the body.

“Rev next time, cut the chatter,” Chief said into his squad comms.

Rev simply nodded. The commandos made their way into the cave and their helmets HUD immediately adjusted to the even darker enclosure. As they traversed the damp cave Chief found his minimap malfunctioning. Then he and squad received a shotty transmission over their comms.

“Commandos… Losing signal. You’re… Own,” CT-1104 attempted to say more, but it was lost above the mountain.

“Alright Commandos we’re solo from here on out,” Chief said shortly after the failed message.

He took point again and they continued onwards. The cave was lined with moss and it squished beneath the commandos boots, Stalactites hung from the ceiling, and as they went deeper every once in awhile a torch lit the way. They found the cave branched off into multiple rooms and Chief motioned towards the first one with his hand. It was relatively empty aside from a few crates and some large webs. Not even a torch lit the chamber. They exited and walked to the second one. The Commandos entered with Verpine Shatter pistols raised. Deathly silent and extremely accurate weapons. They found nothing in the area but sleeping rebels. Chief backtracked out of the barracks den and nearly bumped into a patrol of two. He hefted his pistol into the air and took aim center mass while his squad filed out of the room behind him.

“Wait for my signal. Arson, Rev target the one on the right. Hacks and I will take the one on the left,” Chief spoke into his squad comms.

“Let them have it,” He whispered as he squeezed the trigger.

Shortly after both rebels dropped to the mossy floors and the commandos walked towards the corpses. Rev and hacks squeezed a couple more shots into the bodies and then they dragged the cadavers to the empty room. Chief and Arson stood outside as the other pair hid the bodies, making sure they’d receive no more unwelcome surprises. They emerged and this time chief ordered Arson to take point with a signal of the hand.

'Sonter' patiently waited, secretly meditating, in one of the receiving offices in Dressel's Senate building. In the centre of the room was an expensive-looking circular table that was surrounded by several luxurious, and rather comfortable, seats and was crowned by a holoprojector. Around the circumference of the room were statues that the inquisitor presumed to be made of solid bronzium. He was just beginning to wonder why it was taking the chancellor so long to see to him when a hissing sound suddenly emanated from all of the walls.

Drakar watched as a gas with a slightly greenish hue began to fill the room, coming from small grates distributed evening on the lower and upper parts of the walls. The high inquisitor allowed the Force to flow over him, to cast its protection over him when the dioxis converged on his position, obscuring his 'vision' but failing to deteriorate his health. "This is Drakar, the Dressellians have betrayed me. Begin the occupation immediately, I will wipe out their pitiful excuse for a government." He snarled, only to be met with static. Apparently, the rebels, those that had infiltrated the building, were smart enough to jam his communications.

His lightsaber flew into his hand and sprung to life with its signature snap-hiss, a crimson blade protruding from the emitter shroud. If they were half as intelligent as they wished to be perceived, they would send soldiers to make sure that the 'Imperial representative' was deceased. As he approached the only exit to the room, it flung open and he could sense the presence of several rebels through the smoke using the Force. The high inquisitor swung his saber once and decapitated the first of them, allowing the body to crumble down before he brought his saber back around and slashed another on the chest.

"Raagh!" He roared, thrusting his arm forth and impaling a body on the blood red blade. The rebels had expected to find a dead Imperial moff, only to meet face to face with a Dark Jedi master. The survivors hadn't even fully raised their blasters before they were relieved of their arms by the blind man. Satisfied with his work, Drakar moved into the corridor outside and turned at the spot when he sensed more enemies. He raised his hand and sent a shockwave out in front of him, impacting against the squad of troopers when they turned the corner and sending them through a wide glass window to their deaths.

The Acclamator's huge cargo doors flattened the grassland that they held domain over. The sheer size of the ramp took close to a minute to fully deploy its huge grey hull pushing deep into the mud and gaining grip with its mechanical pylons locking in place only to be flooded with imperial personal seconds later. The class of white stormtroopers and black officer uniforms slowly infected the lands that surrounded them.

"A full landing force would be more than enough to find out what has happened to our dear and honored grand Moff."

Kain's temperament had grown to distaste after the initial party had failed their third communication check-in. The protocol put in place stated that his company and the garrison of troopers he had aboard would be the first in after special forces as a relief force in order to take the initiative and crush the alien scum under the boot of the grand empire. Yet still, Athan preferred the open field than a built-up area. His tanks lacked in the ability to maneuver. Alas if he had to flatten a few cities then so be it.

He snatched up his comm-link and spat out the orders with a vicious tone "Troop Commanders, deploy the garrison!"

He went about ensuring his own company had loaded into their own vehicles when he spotted a figure out of place with the rest of his crew. She walked with a swagger unlike that of any imperial officer or government official, nor did she look like one. Her hair a burning bright red akin to that of laser fire and skin not unlike that of snow one might find on Hoth. A youthful exuberance of energy emitted from her appearance yet as he found himself staring a surge of power and darkness was swirling through his mind.

As she came within no more than five meters of him he managed to break the trance-like vision her presence had garnered around him and the other men.

"Excuse me but I don't believe we have met, I'm guessing the inquisitors sent you? They tend to like interfering in military operations."

Vacation was amazing, but the drums of war beated a tune that called her away again, her husband has disappeared leaving her the house Malvern to her control....and of course still under the imperial command. A great way was brewing unlike anything she saw before and anya Malvern was ready to become a warrior, a legend! Among those in the Empire.

She glanced along the men on the field seeing the troopers lined up nice and neat in their white armor, a mix of aliens and humans all ready to fight and die for the Empire they served. A voice caught her attention as she turned towards the man and crossed her hands behind her back as she didn't look down on him but as a equal as she smiled

high inquisitor Malvern at your service captain, you'll find I won't be interesting merely assuring in finding my fellow inquisitor. Think of me as another troop...ill be helping is all

Her voice was smooth and calm like a fire held back but ready to spring up and burn anything in her path. She looked around his tanks and gave a impressed look as chuckled

A high inquisitor! He really must watch his tongue more often, the high command already had it in for him enough.

His tone of voice had shifted back to the more pronounced galactic standard. He did his best to place a smile on his face and nod acceptingly to the unexpected guest.

"Yes, if you say so, Ma'am, there is space in the troop transport areas within my command vehicle unless you wish to bring your own speeder though I would much advise against it due to the little intel we have on this location."

He gestured to the back of the camoed metallic goliath and pushed himself up onto the side. Clambering arms and legs to the top hatch where one could slide into the commander's seat atop the main weapons system allowing for total battlefield management from his own array of consoles and cameras all linked down through to the heads-up display within. It reminded him of his earlier deployments using the AT-ATs for scanning and thermal enlargement equipment.

He waited for the all-clear from ship crew before giving the order to his driver and the arrow-shaped formation glided down the ramp all sixteen in a tight formation just daring the Dressellians to make a move and give any one of them an excuse to blow this arid countryside into the dirt.

Kain pushed his PTT and spoke calmly through the mouthpiece attached to the front of his helmet and transmitting to all the tank crews within his command.

"This is Rapier 1-1 to all units, move to grid coordinates as designated as Alpha zone on your vehicle HUD's. Godspeed ladies and gentlemen, long live the empire!"

Barely had he finished speaking before a surge of power hit the S-2 Repulsortanks engines and they had accelerated at speeds of close to 150 kilometers per hour in looser assault formation leaving a trail of dust and dirt in the wake as the armoured company set their sites on the metropolis soon to be overrun by the glory of the imperial grand army.
