The Battle of Ciutric IV

Weeks had passed since the withdrawal of the Silver Jedi civil government from the regions once under their influence, leaving countless systems to fend for themselves against a universe of darkness. Unwilling to roll over and submit to the Dark Side’s advances, a movement began sweeping through several former Silver systems called the League of Voss, a confederation of former military personnel, shipwrights, and even errant Jedi who ignored the Silver’s call to relocate on Kashyyyk.

Though Ciutric IV was beyond the extent of their territorial influence, it possessed immense potential to act as a staging ground for retaliatory strikes into the growing Sith Empire as well as cutting off trade via the Hydian Way. Already a League Vanguard has established a military presence in the system, and is in the process of commandeering the shipyards above Ciutric IV for themselves.

Imperial Spies have alerted High Command of this threat, and a battle group has been dispatched to dislodge the trespassers and claim the planet for the Empire.

Military Objectives -
  • Engage the League fleet above Ciutric IV
    • Dogfight League starfighters
    • Destroy support corvettes and frigates
    • Disable the Liberation-class Mon Cal Star Cruiser’s shields
  • Establish Air Superiority
  • Eliminate the League Militiamen onboard the Ciutric shipyard
    • Secure the Control Tower
    • Raise the hangar blast doors
    • Turn the shipyard’s defenses on the League fleet
  • BYOO
Other Objectives -
  • Dispatch an Imperial reconnaissance party to Toprawa
    • Capture the Imperial Research Station
    • Repair the Toprawa Relay Station
  • BYOO

It was a plan that had been formulated with great care and consideration.

From the shipyards of Dac they struck out, venturing far from their defensive holdings to the distant, yet strategically important, world of Ciutric IV. The planet laid just off the Hydian Way, the crucial lifeline that fed galactic trade directly into the villainous Sith Empire. Squaring up against the Empire was a suicidal move, the Silver Jedi had been unable to match them blow-for-blow -- so what hope would they have against this growing threat?

But whereas the Silver Jedi had conceded the task impossible, the League of Voss had been forced to resort to less than honorable means to stem the tide of growing Imperialism. Hit and runs have become the norm, sneak attacks and ambushes of Imperial convoys became necessary. Ruthlessness replaced compassion, the position of the League growing more and more dire with each world that willingly bowed to the Sith Emperor.

Cowards.

Just as the Silver Jedi were cowards for abandoning the war. Admiral Oottall angrily tapped his webbed fingers on the arms of his command chair aboard the bridge of the Liberation-class Star Cruiser, Endeavor. He had been an extremely vocal advocate for a preemptive war against the Sith Empire, himself having suffered under the First Empire's rule nearly thirty years ago. His hopes were raised and then subsequently dashed when the Silver Jedi failed to follow up their defeat at Mirial with a renewed aggressive strike, and he lost all semblance of respect for the Silver Jedi when they picked up and left.

He would rather die fighting injustice then scurry away, tail firmly affixed between his legs.

And now he was poised to carry out what the Silver Jedi were too afraid to do.

The Endeavor materialized back into realspace alongside an assault fleet consisting of his flagship, six Nebulon-T Escort Frigates, and six Raxun Blockade Runners. Immediately a swarm of varied League starfighters reverted with them, and after a swift squadron roll call they launched their attack on a small local garrison and fleet stationed above the planet's orbital shipyards.

They wouldn't have long before the Empire caught wind of their plan, so speed was of the essence.

"Show this league the price of resistance Braxus, wipe them out." - Darth Carnifex

Resistance.

Even after the Silver Jedi Order had hastily fled before the might of the Sith Empire their presence was still felt. The League of Voss was born of men and women who simply could not accept defeat, would not flee in the face of darkness. Perhaps these were the true warriors of the Silver Jedi who stuck around after the rest of the cowards had turned tail and ran. This plan was bold and incredibly risky but no doubt formulated with great care. What they didn't consider however was that this news didn't just make it to High Command, it made it right to the desk of the Sith Emperor himself. The Dark Lord had been made aware of the resistance this league had put up. A decision had been made then in the palace on Bastion.

The Shadow Hand left that day.

A force from War Fleet Leviathan led by the Sith Lords flagship Hammer of Bastion made its way to Ciutric IV. Deep inside the flagship within the modified command center that allowed the Shadow Hand to conduct his duties as second on the move sat the man himself, in a throne of dark steel. The visage of Admiral Thaddeus Krell appeared on a viewscreen directly in front of Prazutis, the Admiral was far too busy to walk down to his masters command center and it was easier this way. "Our exit from hyperspace is imminent my lord. All ships are at the ready." Krell said respectfully, hands clenched behind his back.

"Excellent. Make sure Skull Squadron is on standby and have my fighter prepared, I want to be ready to launch when battle begins." Darth Prazutis ordered. Skull Squadron was the only asset Kaine specifically insisted he bring for the mission. The Dark Lord had no intention of leaving the Imperial Palace anytime soon, meetings briefings, he had much to handle at the empire's capital, it Skull Squadron would do the most good blasting enemy fighters in battle alongside the Shadow Hand than sitting on Bastion.

"At once my lord." Krell replied. The hand gesture of the Shadow Hand cut the vid conversation off, his eyes redirected to the screens all around watching as the fleet dropped out of hyperspace.

Battle would soon be joined.

Fleet:

1x Pluton-class Battleship - Ablution

3x Cyracuse-class Drone CarrierThermaeEisenwaldActinite, each with 30 Scrapmetal-class drones

The Ablution was worn out. Systems had long since been strained near the breaking point, and attrition had taken its toll on the technologically advanced ship that seemed to have no interest, no buyer. Rejected by the Confederacy, unused by the original Sith Empire - scarcely used by the Republic, even, and here it was in the service of the Sith Empire reborn. The Cyracuse-class drone carriers had been easy enough to maintain - the Pluton, however, had only recently been restored from mothballs after Vanessa's return to the Sith Empire. Now she sat in the battleship's command chair - this was no Star Destroyer, nor was it ever designed to emulate such a ship. it was designed for one purpose - to camp at relatively long range with its LRHHVels and open fire on cruisers and battlecruisers from afar.

"Angle us for adequate long-range fire." She said, brushing a cobweb off the side of the chair as the tremendous vessel turned in preparation to assail the hostile vessel. "Arm main turrets and prepare to fire a full barrage when ready. Arm long range mass driver batteries and heavy energy torpedoes. We're going to unload on them with everything we've got, then if their shields are still standing, we'll fire again. Tell the Cyracuses to begin offloading their drones. They'll be far more effective once we get those shields down.

The guns readied themselves for firing, cold barrels warming with hellish life as they prepared for a bombardment.

Rolls for hit:

LRHHVels(4 aimed): 18/6/6/15 (2 damaging hits, shields down 20%, 2 misses)

Mass Drivers(10 aimed): 12/9/9/8/14/20/5/5/14/18 (1 critical hit, sensor array, 4 hits, hull down 4%, 3 near misses, 2 misses)

Energy Torpedoes(15 aimed): 17/1/14/6/16/17/12/5/10/2/16/3/1/4/20 (1 critical hit, double shield damage, 7 hits, shields down 14%, 5 misses, 2 malfunctions)

Enemy Star Cruiser Status:

Shields: 71% and recharging

Hull: 96%

Subsystem damage: Sensors

Location: Descending upon Toprawa Headed to Research Station.

Objective: Take over, capture Research Station, and any information it may hold.

Companions: Lucem, Caleo Imura

My right arm was gripping onto the railing above my head. The jostling of the dropship was shaking everyone up. Troopers were standing along side myself and Caleo. Lucem was hovering right next to my head. Due to his floating, he seemed to be shaking more so than we were. This was an illusion of his body floating in air, and ours being connected to the ship that was being shook due to AA batteries that were firing upon us. I almost smacked my face into the hatch that would open up for us. Cursing as I prevented myself from falling into the door, I righted myself. Upon my shoulder was the hand of my sister Caleo. She was righting herself as well. Attempting to do so, then fixing the dress she wore. It always confused me as to why she had to wear a dress. Even in battle, or for instance, taking over a research station. Various silks were worn for her dresses. It just seemed unnecessary. This coming from a guy who has more tattoos than scars.

Despite this, I simply shook my head. The look given to me from her could melt steel. It was one of the few looks that could do that if she actually tried in fact. To keep my mind off of it, I looked over to Lucem once more to see his body "shrug" as much as it could. My thoughts were then taken from me as I could hear through my ear piece that we were landing. The captain was throwing words out at me.

"Landing in less than twenty seconds. Prepare yourselves for a rough landing, and to be fighting as soon as those doors open."

I simply prepared myself as the captain spoke. While I had not forgotten any of my gear, I did check it one last time to make sure I had them, and to mentally prepare myself for this fight. Caleo then grabbed my hand, indicating our rings. I nodded my thanks to her. Pulling said ring from my pocket, and putting it on my right index finger. I then reapplied my leather gauntlet and as I was done, I grabbed the rung only for us to come to a slow stop and then slam into the ground. The doors opened to a hail of blaster fire.

As fast as my hands could, I threw up a telekinetic shield preventing the blasts of plasma from reaching us. They impacted the shield and then fell into sparks upon the ground. However, Caleo drew her katana, then held up a shield for herself, Allowing me to drop a portion of the shield around her so that I could draw my own Oathkeeper. Instantly, I could feel the weight of the blade in my hand become natural to me. Yet it still felt light. Almost as if I were holding a mere stick in my grasp. Dropping the shield, I then used the flat of my blade to defend myself from any blaster fire as we moved forward.

The main assualt was just trying to prevent us from moving forward. With the aid of Telekinesis and Caleo, I thrusted up a portion of the ground in front of us into a barricade for the troops to hide behind and gather their forces. Hunkering down behind it, I was already breathing quite heavily. Taking a second to relax, Lucem already floated over to me. Being so small of a target, he had no real worry of being hit.

"Most of their fortifications are rudimentary. At best, the forces seem to be the local militia that have allied themselves with the Voss league. Pushing up shouldn't be to hard in theory."

"In theory. They are allied with Jedi. I am more than sure that there will be a few behind their walls. I can feel them already."

"Then it's time for you to go hunting."

"Not hunting."

"You kill Jedi right?"

"Only when necessary."

Caleo and Lucem looked at me quite confused. Shaking my head, I simply wrote them off as not being in mind with my ideals. For that, and because I was the heir to the Imura family line, I was thus in charge of them.

"Just move forward."

They did as I commanded.

LOCATION: Hanger One
OBJECTIVE: Fit in a TIE
Enemies: Size discrimination
Allies: Lightsaber and sucking it in.

He stood determined as other pilots ran to their ships. His green eyes like glowing green fire as he stared at the tiny hatch of the TIE fighter. He reached out a heavy paw and pulled the hatch open and tried to step in but he hit his head on the overhead railing that held the fighter in the rack.

His heavy body tumbled back down the steps and landed with a hefty thud on the catwalk. Slowly he pushed back up to his feet and stomped loudly back to the fighter. He walked up to the top hatch and pulled out his greatsaber. The shard crystal screamed as it snap-hissed alive and he began cutting a semicircle in the overhead for better clearance. That done, he appraised his work, nodded and tried to fit into the fighter again.

His feet fit...his waist did not. Bo made angry pandyn noises.

The simian watched impassively as the panda tried to get himself into the undersized TIE fighter.

Then blinked.

It was not an expert when it came to tech, TIE fighters or space, but somehow Kaz did not think it was likely that the panda would survive once the fighter dropped into the cold void of space. Something about... head tilted more as Bo squeezed himself in feet first and then got... stuck. Kaz sighed, taking another bite from this new fruit he had been given by some of the engineers.

The skin was yellow and ick, but the strange meat within was sweet.

Strangely sweet.

He liked it and took another bite. Munching on the meat the simian pushed himself off the heavy crate supporting his weight and stepped towards the struggling Pandyn.

"You seem to be in a bit of a... bind, friend." Kaz mentioned carefully, while studying the pickle. "Do you need a paw?" Goddess preserve him. Something told him that this wasn't going to be an easy mission at all.

Bo looked down ready to violently stare at one of those hairless pink people and was pleasantly surprised to see a being with proper fur to body mass ratio. He motioned to the TIE with his huge paws and shook his head.

"Oroo gaaarrwwwarrgh orrogh warru arrrgh." He said with a disappointed tone.

He reached down and began to push himself up but to no avail. He shook his big head and closed his eyes for a moment before he reached for his greatsaber and pointed the blade emitter at the ship's hatch.

"Gerooo Orree?" He asked the other Sith. He felt cutting out seemed reasonable.

Kaz focused on the guttural sounds made by the large, walking panda.

It sounded familiar.

Shift the tones a few ways here, few ways there and you might approach Ma'alkerritian. It still took him a few minutes, before the simian could translate it in his brain, but eventually he got there. A helpless shrug was the first response Bo received. << Humanoids selfish and useless. >> His own voice contorted into the dialect Lin had been speaking in a few moments ago. Difficult, but he was starting to get into it. << Fighter ruined now, so might as well, brother. >>

That TIE wasn't going to see action anytime soon.

Already engineers were approaching. Oh, they looked angry, the pink squishy being's heavy brows (like little caterpillars dancing on their faces) furrowing hard. But they did not seem eager to start a conflict with the two huge hulking animals that were wearing lightsabers and big hammers. << Come with. My crew will bring us planet-side, you may join. >> He eyed the human engineer and smiled. Big, big, sharp predatory teeth starting to shine. It immediately made the human back away. << Be among yours rather than... these. >>

If there was one thing Kaz was protective of, it was sentients like him.

Not fitting seemingly anywhere. No pun intended.

Bo wasted no time. His greatsaber screamed as the shard inside was bombarded with energy and the blade came alive, power born of pain, and he sliced his way out of the TIE. He dropped to the deck and rolled a few feet before he stood and glared at the little pink things. He pointed two thick fingers at his eyes and then turned his hand and pointed the fingers at the engineers before he walked over to the being that actually spoke something other than the weird chirping hoomin languages.

<<These creatures are weak even in mind.>> he said before he pulled a large zelosian pineapple from his pack and held it by the leaves as he took a big bite. <<They think rapid breeding makes them superior. And they smell funny. I'll follow you.>>

He put his saber back on his belt and prepared to follow. He hoped they had big seats and snacks.

Kogra sat within the confines of the large shuttle that was meant to carry him and the other being on board to the planet below. It was odd to see such an assortment of species in one craft within the Empire. The vast majority of forces, like in most factions, were human or close enough for Kogra to not care.

But these were individuals Kogra could get along with, different shapes and sizes, all of which gave them advantages the puny humans couldn't dream of, a perfect fighting force in Kogra's eyes.

In reality the over-sized transport shuttle was more of a small corvette.

Retrofitted to feth and back to accommodate aliens of extreme sizes- smol tunnels lined throughout the ship to help a handful of Nezumi avoid being trampled by the Too Bigs and extra large seats, controls for the bigger sentients. << Welcome to the Broken. >> Head titled as he looked at the corvette. It didn't really look like much, but that was where looks deceived.

Reinforced shields, extra durable hull, it was made specifically to survive beatings.

<< Named that during the christening- we didn't know what to call it... so the bottle we broke seemed as fine as any. >> Heavy shrug, before the Simian gestured for Bo to follow him up the ramp.

He exchanged greetings here and there. Voice contorting from basic to guttural simian to Bo's dialect here and there.

Passing Kogra Kaz eyed him for a moment. The new recruit was... new. It was obvious the humans hadn't been sure what to do with him, probably a problem child in their own ranks, so assigning him here they hoped that he would be at least remotely useful. They would see. "Alright," going back to Basic. It was the one language they universally understood, so that's what they got.

"I got us out of fighter mop-up duty so we can do what we do best. We are breaching the shipyard- it will be tough, corridor to corridor, those Voss fethers have had all the time in the world to reinforce themselves. Anyone who wants out, can stay here. Takers?"

By the time the Imperial counter fleet had arrived in system, the League had already made preparations by holding itself close to the orbital dockyard in a defensive formation. Militiamen had already stormed the station's control tower, killing or incapacitating the crew and commandeering the dock's defenses for themselves. The League's commanders had no qualms on how many non-combatants they put in harm's way to achieve their goal, their ideology had become so skewed and mired in the black-&-white, us-or-them, mentality that if your heart didn't bleed their colors then you were obviously set against them in one way or another.

As the enemy fleet unleashed their TIE swarms, the League's starfighters and blockade runners had already accelerated ahead to meet them head-on. Years of war against Imperial remnants and attempted Sith successor states had forced Admiral Oottall to develop more hit & run-centric tactics against the larger Imperial warships. As the two swarms of fighters met in the middle amidst a swirl of laser fire and explosion, the Raxun Corvettes would push forward through the storm, weaving through the dogfight as their anti-starfighter cannons unleashed volley after volley at any enemy fighter they could get in their sights.

Meanwhile several squadrons of B-Wings and Y-Wings would have pushed on past the tangled engagement, angling themselves on an attack vector towards the Harrowers and the Pluton-class Battleship, a volley of proton torpedos and ion charges erupting forth from the various starfighter's weapon systems. Admiral Oottall directed all of this from the command chair of the Endeavor. His ship was already taking long-range fire from the enemy vessels, which was reciprocated in kind by his warship's own turbolasers. All they had to do was hold off the enemy fleet for as long as they could, and hope that they took the bait and drew themselves in closer.

One League pilot's life was worth about a hundred of these vile Imperials, and Oottall intended to balance out the difference one way or another.

On the Bridge...

As soon as the fleet entered the system Admiral Thaddeus Krell was on his feet at the back of the bridge. There was a small room behind the command chair between two sets of blast doors currently open, in the center a large state of the art holotable that projected a complete view of the battlefield and all assets in play right down to the fighters that flew about. The Sith Empire were symbolized in red while the League of Voss in blue. Already in the center of the two opposing forces there was a swarm of red and blue fighters like angry hornets. The entire bridge exploded in a hub of activity as crew and officers alike moved about in and out of the pits.

Where others just saw ships he saw tactics, intentions, strategy. The enemy commander was very smart, skilled, no doubt a veteran of countless battles with the Sith already. The League fleet was hopelessly outgunned by the Imperials and they knew it, in a straight up engagement they'd be easily annihilated. But this commander had adapted guerilla hit and run tactics they'd never stay in the fray for very long. In this particular battle the enemy were tucked close to the large shipyard. The defenses should've been firing at them by now but they fell silent even as the League ships moved by. A careless eye might've missed the minute detail and focused on bringing the full firepower of the fleet down on their enemy, not Krell.

Whoever their admiral was he wasn't the first to try and bait Thaddeus Krell and wouldn't play the part of the fool and deliver his forces into the jaws of death. The various ship commanders of the vessels under him were already on the line with the Admiral, he quickly cut in "All ships are to stop pursuit immediately! They're trying to lure us closer to the shipyard I suspect they've taken control of its defenses. Engage them from this distance make them come to us we hold the firepower advantage." Admiral Krell ordered the commanders chiming in to confirm the orders. The entire fleet suddenly stopped in its tracks not long after.

As bombers came in to deliver their payloads the ships countermeasures took effect firing back in turn, some torpedoes and bombs taken out through the various ships systems but more hit their mark in brilliant plumes of blue and orange. There was four velox fast frigates that quickly moved to target the more vulnerable Nebulon frigates. They were outgunned by the Rakun that emerged to fight but just perfect to take on the Nebulon and any fighters that swept down on them. The two harrowers dipped down just slightly a tactic used by many dagger shaped star destroyers and opened fire their massive armament exploding in green laser fire, ion cannon blasts and missiles flying through the sky. Their full strength was directed at shredding the stronger Rakun frigates targeting the fighters. Meanwhile.

The Hammer of Bastion opened fire.

The full might of the Grand Battlecruiser exploded like the wrath of a vengeful god bearing down entirely on the Liberation-Class. Everything that wasn't shorter ranged weaponry descended in a hellstorm on the command ship.

Meanwhile...

The Shadow Hand made his way through the ship to the hangar where his fighter was prepared and ready to launch. In addition to Skull Squadron they would be joined by Scipio Alta and Stiletto Company, who they would escort to the shipyard. Then when their escort was done they'd join the dogfight.

Blood would be shed.

Qmjg6JV.png

The Bastion Class Personal Transport slid in under the stars, it's contents that of a one, Orion Darkstar. The tiny compartment he stood in reminded him just how tedious spacial warfare really was. He wasn't a stranger to the shifting powers at work within the confines of the endless pools of space, but he also preferred to be on ground. However, he was a sith and like all great sith, he dealt with it his own way. The transport had been dislodged from a larger craft, a true vessel compared to the rattling junk he resided. Luckily he was alone. The constant trooper jitters that he dealt with in previous excursions caused more frustrations than it was worth. Maybe Orion just didn't understand them, or maybe in truth, it was the underlined fact that most troopers were disposable. The art of war was a calculating stone cold mistress, that without strategic casualties would falter. Everyone had their day, today it was the Leauge of Voss. They hunkered down, thinking consequences were far from their decisons. They, fortunately for Orion, thought wrong.

The personal transport bucked, forcing Orion to regain his footing as he stood. The hatch twisted and latched into place as the ship shifted closer to the station. The sith had many capable ways of bypassing boarding protocols, but this was too easy. as the hangar latch twisted Orion stared. His calm, looming figure stroked by the only light within the tiny square box he was thrown in. The red lingering strip that lit the left side of his mask gave an eerie presence to the motionless sith. He was in deep thought the voices in his mind arguing with the best possible approach. There were several ways to breach the hallways of the space station, but the main goal was reaching the Control Tower. The blueprints he examined prior to being transported for such a mission were ripe in his mind. The twist and elongated turns to the hallways, meant lots of resistance. It would be futile.

The sudden hiss and clear smoke that erupted into the dimly red lit chamber forced Orion's forest eyes to snap open. Tapping his hands together he stepped forward and then again. He would always start slow, almost as if counting the seconds before the slaughter. As the final signal came from the durasteel plates, the door magnetically opened, a blazing stream of blaster fire greeted him. As quickly as they came, Orion lifted his head. A new stretch of red light erupting from the core of his right hand. A scarlet letter shifting back and forth to reflect the blaster bolts back from which they came. Orion's steps still remained slow, the timing in his head finally churning into numbers.

Bo followed, watching the other large beings. It was good he wasn't alone, he was still much prettier but you can't have it all they say. He suffed another pineapple in his mouth and followed it with five apples, a mango, and one of those little orange peppers from near Bastion someplace.

He slowly started to feel a strange burning sensation that he endured at first but it kept building and he felt the need for a drink, any drink. He looked around silently as the Large primate Sith talked about his ship. He looked left and began waving a hand infront of his maw. He looked left as tears began. Soon he saw a large water container, likely for extended trips and scooted over.

He didn't have the patience to twist the cap off so he bit it and began chugging the water while the taskforce leader gave a briefing. He belched loudly and tossed the canister aside. The primate turned in time to see Bo standing at attention slowly chewing a potato.

<<I'll go>> he said. Where he didn't know but he would go.

The tremendous warship held for now. Antimatter reactors fluctuated as the shields absorbed the ion charges and the proton torpedoes - they had only recently been primed after years emptied in the vacuum of space. Vanessa grimaced as the bridge shuddered from the impact. "Damn it, scramble the fighters and get those flak guns operational!" The Pluton continued to remain at range from the Star Cruiser - it had long-range weaponry, so why not keep the enemies at a distance? Squadrons of fighters were launched - Alpha wing, comprised of Aeseth-class space superiority fighters, Beta wing, comprised of Angel-class interceptors, and Gamma wing, comprising Eightgun-class assault fighters, their paint schemes faded but their weapons primed as they immediately engaged the B-Wings and Y-Wings to buy more time for more wings to be launched - only one of its four fighter squadrons had been launched. The Eightguns attempted to focus on the Y-Wings, their eight laser cannons spraying at the hostile bombers as the more maneuverable Aeseths and Angels engaged the B-Wings - their targets were selected almost exclusively based on the maneuverability of the craft in question.

The Cyracuse drone carriers were opening up with their flak on the fighters as well while the Scrapmetal swarm began its own journey towards the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser. The drones were fitted with antimatter charges, proton charges... whatever high explosives could be packed in them, they were packed in there as the drones started their kamikaze run - avoidance programming kicking in as they 'readied' themselves for a potential attack by defending fighters.

"Gods, I hope we don't have any issues... Focus fire on the rear shield quadrant. Perhaps we can damage the engines of the vessel at range." If such were the case, then that would make this battle a good bit easier.

The black could be a lonely place, desolate, silent and infinite, but she felt at home here. Her sharp eyes scanned the pin point stars as they shone like pin pricks in a back lit canopy and nodded to her executive officer. Her uniform was old by current standards and still bore the One Sith rank insignias.

They had picked up transmissions on their long range comms and knew they had finally found the fleet after all this time. Their ships were old but in excellent condition and she was confident that her training was superior to whatever rag tag opposition they could face from this League of Voss, as she had heard them called.

The clutch of five Ordo-class frigates dropped out of hyperspace already in formation with her ship in the center of an 'X' formation. She lifted a hand in silence and motioned to the comm officer, her brother and genetic twin like the whole crew was, and the officer opened a hail to the League flagship, a Mon Cal cruiser.

"This is Commander Ordo Zero Three," she began her soft voice holding as much inflection as that of a droid for all it gave away, " To the commanding officer of the League of Voss. You have thirty seconds to lower your shields or consent to your own destruction. Your time begins now."

She motioned for the transmission to be cut and waited by the sensor station for the shields to go down.

"Five kilometer, spread. Vertical Ex pattern." She said to the executive officer, "If the shields go down, full ion cannon salvos target the bridge and engines. Scramble fighters, and make ready to board. If the shields don't drop lethal force. Pincer maneuver. Don't let the cruiser escape."

She waited. 10 seconds.

Revocation-class Missle Frigate

Ciutric IV

852 ABY

Post: One

Jyn Cvetkovic wasn't a fan of small, tight spaces. He wasn't exactly claustraphobic but small spaces made him uneasy. Many things made him uneasy since he had accepted his role in The Sith Empire. He hated turing a corner and not knowing if an angry dragon by the name of Ao'Xian was about to eat his face off. He hated not knowing if he was going to wake up with a rifle butt in his face from some angry invading force who The Sith Empire had made enemies of. He especially hated the lack of decent food, the lack of good food. He was starting to become accostomed to life however, Ao'Xian had began to ready him for her teachings. He was finally readying himself to learn and gain power beyond his wildest dreams.

He had to beat the small spaces first. He was quite content with space travel, it didn't really bother him. What he didn't like was the fact that he had been stationed aboard what appears to be the galaxies smallest and most uncomfortable frigate. It got the job done, of course but that didn't mean it was designed for confort and luxury. It was the type of ship where a person even as small as he was had to duck to get under a doorway into a room. Jyn had, a number of times, fell victim to this and had returned to his master with bruises covering his forehead where he had underestimated the height of a doorframe on the frigate.

If he was uncomfortable then he knew that Ao'Xian hated the ship. She wasn't exactly the most technological of people anyway and that mixed with the small spaces would be her worst nightmare. She was overly egotistical but Jyn didn't allow himself the chance to care about that. He was aware she was egotistical and it was just one of the many things he had accepted since joining her and in turn joining the ranks of the absolutely terrifying Sith Empire. He had met a few people during hia short weeks within The Sith Empire and many of them seemed interested in pushing him, they seemed interested in when he would break.

He refused to break.

Ao'Xian was testing him. That was her reasoning for bringing him along to what the crew of their frigate were calling "The Battle of Ciutric IV". She wanted to test him and see if he could handle watching a real battle where hundreds upon hundreds of people would die. She wanted to test him, to see if he could keep his mental state stable while he watched friendly forces fall dead as ships fell from the sky like stones. She wanted to see if his mental state would snap as he gave the order to execute enemies of The Sith Empire. She wanted to see if a true, real battle with real threat would make or break him.

He decided it would make him.

Location: Headed to Research Station.

Objective: Take over, capture Research Station, and any information it may hold.

Companions: LucemCaleo Imura

Moving out from the barricade that I had created, all three of us as well as the various troopers beside us were charging at various intervles to keep the enemies on their toes. Even from this distance, I could feel the force flowing deeply within the enemy fortifications. I could feel the resolve of the troops that we were facing. No fear. Nervousness yes, fear? None. it was as if the people we fought against were being influenced in some shape or form. I smiled brightly. Making another barricade to take a second to breathe. My thoughts racing to Caleo as I inhaled.

"I can feel the force through the troops. They are being influenced. Do you know if you can fight this?"

"No, I don't think I can."

"Do you think we can cause them to fear us?"

"How?"

Taking a second more, my mind raced through thoughts once more. Troopers around us were providing covering fire for their allies and using the various terrain around us to their advantage to stay in cover. Colored blurs of light flew from both sides. It was when I had found what could help us.

"Back on Oricon. Did you learn anything about fear there?"

"It spreads like wild fire."

"Alright, here's the plan."

--------------------------------------------------------------------

"One.... two..... three."

Counting out loud to myself as my body was suddenly flung over the distance between the enemy front lines and my own forces. Wielding my "Oathkeeper" like a mad man with a fiery fist in the other. Slamming my hand into the helmets of men and women so hard, their helmets would cave in. Slashing and cutting through their ranks like a lawnmower in the middle of summer on Kro Var. One after the other fell. Behind me the troops were advancing with my rapidly climbing death count. Focusing my body to become harder than Beskar itself, I felt the burning and the impact of blaster bolts hitting me. However, none broke my skin. I was getting burns over my body left and right as I had no clue how to prevent those as of this moment.

Caleo had come up along side me and in my fit of pure and unadulterated slaughter of these troops, She reached out through the force. Attempting to search through their minds as the fear crept into them. Slowly she worked. I could hear her thoughts as she was getting closer and closer to the source. Smiling she then spoke once more through our minds.

"Battle Meditation. The source should be just a few blocks north of here. They are likely moving back. I knew they could feel us."

"Good, try and keep a hold of them. Try and keep their location."

The troops had now taken over. Successfully taking the first line of defenses into the city seemed easier than it should have been. Something wasn't right. The burns from the dozens of blaster bolts to hit me were everywhere along my body. Parts of my clothes were singed and burnt. Some holes were in my chest and pants from being hit with rifle rounds instead of pistol rounds. It hurt like hell. Not as much as almost falling into a volcano, but damn near it. I sat down behind the barricade and took a second to rest. To gather my spent energies as I had created a fear within the troops that I was a one man army. Pretty close to it with how advanced my studies were of the Matukai and their adaptations of their bodies.

"We need to put some salve on your burns before they become infected."

"Job comes first shard."

"If you die during this job like you almost did last mission...."

".... Fine."

I never liked accepting that I was wrong, but I knew I would be. Pushing myself too far would be dangerous. I needed to have faith that the troopers could do well enough without me for the time being. Lucem haled down a medical officer. He started to take bacta and was about to shoot me up when I pushed his hand away.

"You are going to just have to do without."

"Your wounds are too-"

"Do without."

".... Yes sir."

The man hesitated and wondered why I wasn't taking the bacta shot. Sis looked me over to see if I was alright and kept her mouth shut about my bacta allergy. If that got out, then I could easily have any enemies of mine put just the smallest amount of bacta into a cigarette of mine, or into a drink of mine and I would swell up like a balloon on a four year old's birthday party. Shaking my head, the man applied the salve to my burns. Hurting as the cool gelatin was doing it's job in healing me, and preventing it from getting worse. The problem was, it hurt worse than the burns themselves.

Bo Lin | Kogra | Orion Darkstar

Something told him that Bo hadn't been paying much attention to what he was saying.

But that didn't matter to Kazmai. The ursine creature was prepared to walk into the fire with him, wasn't asking too many questions and seemed at least moderately competent with that greatsaber of his. "Then we fight." When no other voice piped up to offer an alternative to this plan of action. It actually made the simian proud, knowing that these sentients were of one mind.

That they weren't cowards.

That death did not faze them all that much.

That they would fight no matter the odds.

Kazmai didn't kid himself. As he walked out of the bay and joined the Neti pilot at the cockpit he had seen the flashes of fear on some of their expressions. Fear was good, fear kept beings smart and unlikely to get themselves killed for no reason whatsoever. "Braveness is not the absence of fear, brother." Kaz shared with Bo quietly as the corvette detached itself from the command ship and started to head for the shipyards. Other detachments of ships were joining their flight. Rows of turbolasers and point-laser emplacements starting to blink into existence, some to defend the shipyards, others to demolish its defenses.

"Its action in spite of it."

The moment they entered in the range of the shipyards' defensive emplacements the corvette began to be hammered. Its super-structure started to groan against the pressure of kinetic force being transferred from metal to metal.

But it held.

"Ram us in, Tix." The Neti simply nodded and focused on the journey ahead. They would move in hard and without giving these squishy humans a chance to survive.
