Prison Block

Pirate Cruiser, Sins of the Era

The lights are dim in the prison block. The fact that the pirates who were standing guard were awake was something of a miracle. They could blame the holo screen in front of them and the fact that most of the pirates on this vessel were hyped up on stims. It kept them awake, even if they were super jittery sitting at the desk. It didn’t matter mostly. After all there were two banks of cells, on separate floors. Both floors were having one guard at a desk, with two walking the halls. Cameras were found watching most angles to the cell block, but the cameras were up and away from the main floor, and the guards were watching the blind spots.

There was a turbolift at the end of the cell bank, and it would be able to connect the four cell banks, being used as either a hallway or a lift, to connect the cellbanks and to connect to the rest of the ship. The various cells had one or two people in it, and as they were starting to come to, the sounds of the holoscreen being watched was drowning out the hum and bang-and-clank of work being done elsewhere in the starship.

For any of the prisoners who were familiar, the ship had a distinctly Imperial feel to it. Sure, the mission that most, if not all of the prisoners were on was an operation that was sponsored in part by the so-called Alliance Bloc in the Great Galactic War, to gather intelligence on the random hit-and-run strikes plaguing supply lines. People were hired for a number of reasons and a number of tasks, but one thing was for certain when everyone was waking up, that something went terribly wrong. Ships captured, prisoners transferred, weapons and obvious gear was removed.

The thing that the pirates weren’t aware of, was the type of people that they collected in this ship. And it looked like one of those patrolling guards may have a keycard. The biggest trick was it was out there and everyone was behind the closed door. There was a terminal attached to the wall, and of course, the ysalamiri were held near the prison block.

There are a few options open, trying to convince the guard, or trying to slice the door controls. Its clear that most of the cells are full on all the banks.

Goal? Escape.

OOC:
So I decided this morning that we’ll be using the dice roll system for this. What the goal is will be posted in red at the end of each of my posts. I will be posting every 2 days, as long as there is interest to DM this.

Rules: In order to make this more fair, and give a set of randomness to it we’ll be using some dice rolls. Hop on the SWRP server, go to the dice roll channel and roll a 1D6 against the objectives. If you roll higher than the posted roll, you’ll be able to get your desired outcome, if not, well, then that’ll change things.

Aeron Tosh, one of the first few to wake up in his prison cell, was a little bit hazy on what brought him here in the first place. Weird lapses in his memory tell him it has something to do with him & his crew's failed mission. Regardless his first instinct was to try and make his escape before the guards do "who knows what" to him and his other currently unidentifiable cellmate.

Aeron noted all his weapons and gear have been striped from him, but the guards couldn't take away his cybernetic enhancements. Thankfully. Aeron proceeded swiftly, and tried to slice the door controls.

OOC:

Ronin opened his eyes and yawned, stretching his arms as he did so. Then he remembered that he was imprisoned, and quickly pretended to go back to sleep. He seriously considered actually going back to sleep, and was rather grateful to his captors for letting him do so in the first place, but then decided against it. Once he got out of here, he could sleep all he wanted. Ronin discretely looked around. The cell's controls were on the wall, but Ronin wasn't that good at getting the more subtle electronic systems to do what he wanted them to do. People on the other hand...

Ronin crawled towards the cell's opening, so that could hear the pirates talk to each other. As soon as he learned all of their names, he would be able to execute his plan. Pirates did not survive by being stupid, and most of them weren't. But these guards weren't pirates. They were sleep deprived space jocks, high on every drug in the cargo hold, and then some. Those were the type of people drunk enough do something as dumb as locking a friend in the cell block as a joke, and hopefully the kind of people high enough that they could be convinced that that friend was him. So Ronin waited, pretending to sleep. Once their 'friend' woke up, he would want to get out as quickly as possible, not sit in the cell doing nothing. Patience was a virtue. So Ronin waited.

Vam slowly came to, shaking his head to clear the fog. What hap-...

He looked around, taking in his surroundings.

Right. The job went sideways, and they'd been tossed in the brig. Perfect. The freelancer stepped up to the bars in an attempt to get the lay of the land. More prisoners, guards... twitchy guards. Interesting. He let out a sharp whistle at the patrolling sentry.

"Hey, buddy. C'mere."

He leaned heavily against the bars, feigning weakness as he waited for the guard to approach.

"Let's say that, hypothetically, someone had information of a military nature. Perhaps that information could be exchanged for a release. You know, hypothetically."

The whole time he spoke, his left hand moved toward the guard's keycard.

The air stank, humid and warm. At first Koenrad thought that he was on a desert planet, waking up from another round of bad decisions. Then his forehead slammed into the wall, curled as he was against it, and with a groan to accompany the dull metallic thud he realized he wasn't in some luxurious apartment with spiced up bureaucrats and kingpins. As he became more aware of his location details began to flood back... the job, the crew, the contract, and... what this place was. He swore under his breath, straightened out and sat up. The familiar weight at his hip was gone, and so was the one in his boot. His armour had been taken, and so had the credits he normally kept on hand. Unhappy would be perhaps the tamest way to describe how Kunz felt at that moment.

His cellmate, Ronin Naara , was watching quietly out the cell opening. The two spacers outside, he noted, were emanating the stench he'd woken to. He knew that smell, and well. He'd known it almost his whole life, after all. Spice. By the thickness of how it hung in the air, and the raw burning feeling he got when he took a deeper breath, he knew these guys were high out of their minds and on the cheap stuff too. They'd done so much that you could see spice particles floating through the air near some of the lights. Sighing, and in the process agitating the floating spice-dust, he slumped against the cell wall.

Koenrad extended a leg and nudged Naara. He raised a single eyebrow and silently mouthed, "Plan?"

Thump.

Thump.

D'vok slammed his head against the wall for the 600th time, before falling to the floor. He had caused a noticeable dent in the dark steel, reaching about a half inch into the next cell. Maybe he had a cellmate. He wasn't paying attention. He stared out the thick metal bars that kept him from freedom. He didn't remember how long he had been in here. He felt the cold, hard ground of the spaceship press against the side of his head. It was just about the complete opposite of comfortable. The spacers who had imprisoned him had taken everything except the clothes on his back. He glared at the young rodian pirate walking slowly along the hallway. He eyed up his blaster carbine. When he looked at him, D'vok smiled, and pushed himself off the ground.

"Hey Friend. Wanna talk?"

The rodian started to answer but D'vok cut him off.

"Actually don't answer that. Just listen. You saw your friends take all my stuff, right?"

The rodian nodded slowly, skeptical.

"What if I told you there's an item there. Something worth a lot of money. None of that chump change spice run money either. I'm talking big bucks here."

He had caught the pirate's attention.

"But there's one problem. In it's current state, It's broken. But I know how to fix it. If I were to be... released... I might be inclined to fix it and give it to you. Hypothetically of course."

Consciousness returned to Mathas before his vision did. Blindly groping for context, his hands found purchase on the cold, hard floor. Moments later, his sight was clarified by the dim lighting, though it took a couple of further blinks, twists and soft groans before he as able to rise as normal. Mathas could hardly remember the last time a smuggling operation had gone so wrong, and it was clear he had made a grave mistake, though in this state his memory did not permit him to recall what that was. Fortunately, the people who had captured him had reciprocated that mistake by letting him live, and all he needed to do now was break out and remind them why they had just committed a grave error...

As his hands searched his body for the gear he had grown so familiar with, Mathas felt several voids in his clothing. The damn bastards! These pirates had only done their job well, but that fact only empowered his resolve to get out. By no means was this situation unprecedented, but of course just because he had gotten out of a situation before didn't mean he could take for granted that he could do it again.

Looking around, Mathas noticed he had a Zabrak companion (Darren Torran) in his cell, who had yet to awaken. Probably in a similarly unfortunate situation, but only worth helping if he woke up soon. Mathas wasn't going to drag his unconscious body around. After a couple of seconds, the smuggler allowed his eyes to settle on something a bit more attractive: a wall terminal that could probably get him out of here if he sliced it correctly. But as these pirates had taken precautions in disarming him, it was only fair that he take precautions as well and keep his back clear. Mathas crept up to the cell bars and peered outside: a guard stood next to the security desk, enthralled by some fight on a holo screen.

"Pffhh..." An awful smell emanated from him... spice. It had to be spice. Two more guards were in the room; one was patrolling while another was conversing with someone else in another cell. Even from here, Mathas could see the prisoner trying to work his hand around to the guard's keycard. Mathas scoffed at the subtle effort. Good luck. At least it kept another guard distracted. Which meant only one was actually patrolling, though he took fairly frequent breaks to watch the holo screen as well.

Allowing himself a slight smile as he retreated into his cell, Mathas began working on the terminal. It didn't seem that complex; he was sure he had sliced more difficult things before, but then again, he wasn't in his best state of mind at the moment. Every few seconds, he looked out to see check the lone patrolling guard's actions; he pulled himself away from the terminal whenever the guard looked or moved his way. The last thing he needed now was to be caught a second time...

Kerx opened his eyes and he instantly regretted breathing. The air smelled of bantha poodoo and all he could see was dim orange-yellow. He gave a couple of gagging coughs sat up. His head was banging. Somebody must have hit him out cold with something. He could feel a long, searing pain along the left side of his forehead. He put his hand over his holster, but no blaster. He tried getting out anything he could use as a weapon, but came empty. He banged on the floor with an angered fist. He stood up and noticed something petrifying.

His mask was off.

He panicked. What if someone saw his face? It would show up everywhere on the holonet if a captive or someone else knew he was Kerx Zyron. The Hutts would have a lot of an easier time catching him then. He had to keep quiet. He had to strategize. He saw a Weequay walk down the hallway.

Alright. Guards. So there has to be a guy in charge.

He observed his surroundings and noticed someone else was in the cell! It was an unknown girl that the bounty hunter didn't know and he was not going to wake her up. Not yet. First he had to come up with a plan. He saw the Weequay guard walk back. They must be in a pretty tight space. Alright, that's a start. He noticed that the Weequay held a blaster rifle. What if he could steal it somehow? The alien did look a bit drunk, so Kerx would not find it too difficult to complete the task.

"Hey, you. The dirty little festering kark spawn. Get over here."

The Weequay did not look a bit insulted. The alien looked and him and came over to him.

"Quiet down. I am trying to guard!"

But it was already too late. Kerx reached past the bars with his hands and started to try to steal the rifle away from the guard. He had his normal hand on the gun and his cybernetic hand on the Weequay's throat. It was killed or be killed at this point. Let's not hope that more guards come or Kerx will be in some deep trouble.

Ay lies motionless on her poorly arrange bed, un-moving to and disconnected to the world around her, but no asleep, merely trying to figure out how she got into this predicament in the first place. Her old crew a man Called Gatz and along with a woman named Drexia had run into trouble at some point, the ship long being worse for ware, not stacking up to enemy blaster fire. Everything from then on was blank, most likely the ship crash landing and knocking Ay out in the process, why they had only taken her she could only theories, had her former owner tracked the rouge super solider down? Possible, but Ay did not want to stick around to find out.

Turing to her right she noted her cell mate had finally woken up taking no time to lure a guard over and brash their head against the bars with ease, it seemed that is insult worked to some degree, not that she would understand why. But what sparked some sense of curiosity in the young assassin was the man's arms as it clapped around the pirates throat, it was cybernetic, not like her cybernetics which were more of an exo-suit to enhance her abilities, but a cybernetic being never the least. If she was to try and get out of this place alive something with similar abilities to her would hypnotically be easier to work with, "Question, do you need assistance in getting the door open"?

OOC:

Ronin flicked his eyes towards Koenrad Neistov, who had apparently just awoken. He slowly moved backwards top where his cellmate was, and then began to talk to him in a hushed voice. "I was going to try and learn their names, so I could convince them that I was a crew member and they had locked me in this cell as a joke. Figured they were on enough stuff for that to work." Ronin let out a quite sigh. "Unfortunately, they aren't talking much at all, probably for that same reason..." Ronin narrowed his eyes, a rather impressive feat since he was currently pretending that they were closed. "Either that or the galaxy hates me. Which it does for the record. Not the people in it, I mean the actual galaxy." Ronin turned to his cellmate, now fully opening his eyes.

"If you have an idea to get us out of this cell, go for it. Others are doubtless gonna try. We've got to complete this mission if we wanna get paid, plus this is a pretty sweet ship from the looks of it. If you catch my drift."

Ronin looked at the other cells. Many of the other prisoners were acting uncharacteristically nonchalant. They had not been contracted because they were good prisoners. They were contracted because they were good at what they did. And for the most part, what they did was steal, sneak, and spy. This kind of people didn't stay captured for long if they could help it, and from what Ronin saw, they could help it. He had no doubt that a door would be opening soon, and when that happened, most others would probably immediately follow. "We can either wait for someone to open our cell, and be ready to help, or we can find a way to open our cell ourselves, and partake in the liberation and subjugation. Either way, we need to act soon, so if you don't have a plan, let's prepare ourselves. Actually we should probably do that anyways." This entire conversation had been carried out in a very low whisper (Ronin was very good at whispering), because while he had decided it was okay to be awake, openly talking about escaping was still probably a no go. "I'll follow your lead."

Well, she supposed sooner or later she was bound to get caught.

Her eyes opened and in a second Saoirse was alert, fully aware of everything around her. Which, to begin with, wasn't much. But there was enough to make a start on her jailbreak. Saoirse didn't like staying still--one place to the next without ever stopping or looking back--and she certainly didn't plan on starting here.

No time like the present.

The guard glanced her direction, but didn't respond.

"You, over there. Got a minute?"

His look said clear as day that he wasn't getting paid enough for this, but he moved over to her cell and Saoirse smiled a smile that pretended to be friendly.

"What do you want?"

When he awoke there was another in the cell with him, a human male that he guessed to be in his fourties, attempting to slice the controls to the door that kept them within the cell, trapped.

Attempting to gain some sort of balance, the Zabrak pulled himself to his feet and approached the man in the corner.

Koenrad edged closer to the grate that kept them in the cell. Solid pig-iron, and perhaps an inch thick. He wasn't breaking through the grate... but he could break the guards against it. The man farthest from them, on the other side of the room, he had the keycard that would free them. In between him was another patrol - a Sullustan who was so doped that he'd been staring at the same space of wall in-between two of the cells for the last two minutes - and another spacer at a desk, fixed on a holonet soap-opera. He looked as if the newest episode of his program was the gravest of messages, telling of the destruction of worlds and the march of evil. Absolutely captivated.

Koenrad glanced back at Ronin Naara , and said plainly, "Be ready."

He intended to abandon subtlety in a violent and efficient display, so remaining quiet for the next two seconds wasn't really necessary. Turning back to the edge of the cell, he focused on the keycard, the man attached to it, and seized the man with the force. Eyes screwed shut and mouth twisted into a snarl, Kunz released an angry grunt as he pulled at the man through the force. The poor addict couldn't have helped himself if he tried. Flying across the prison-hold, the helmeted card-holder slammed into the pig-iron grate with enough force to crack his visor, and perhaps crush his arm - based on the wince-worthy crack Koenrad heard upon impact, it was probable. He held the spacer there with a vice grip, eyes still shut tight, but he could see everything around them through the force. Already he could feel his grip slipping, loosening, so he snapped at Ronin, barking, "Go! Now! Take the card!"

With luck, Ronin could squeeze enough of his arm through one of the holes in the grate to grab the card off the guard, but if he couldn't... Koenrad might be strong enough still to grab it off the man with the force.

Sins of the Era

The ship was in hyperspace, on its way through space away from the Alliance and First Order boarder, looping around the core. The guards were not really excited to be here, the job was done and they were heading back to a station in dark space, away from any worlds, a station they moved. A few other raiders were out and doing the same moves the Era was doing. Raiding Alliance patrols in ships that were marked with Imperial markings. The trick was that some of the ships were better at it than others, and Sins of the Era was one of the best.

Carrying prisoners of war was always important. It was a group that could be ransomed off, or sold, perhaps. Checking the bounty board was occurring right now anyway, so people could be totaled to see if it was worth turning them in.

Power was going to the cells and there was the terminal, but was it sliceable? A few people were thinking it was. And as they got to work there was a varying degree of freedom for some. Mathas Cavyr was able to get the door to open, but a few of the guards had turned their head to the door. Darren Torran would be ready for them for sure. One grabbed a carbine and stepped forward. On the other hand, the guards were paying no attention to Ronin Naara and Koenrad Neistov’s conversation.

In another part of the prison, @Aeron Tosh was able to get full control of his cell’s door.

It was pretty helpful that Vam Rinav was getting a guard’s attention. He was watching the prisoner. “And what kind of data would that be?” He was just out of reach still, but close.

The Rodian looked at @D’Vok Windroamer and shook his head. “I… is there?” Of course it was coming out in Huttese and not basic. A bit of curiousity.

Through the gate, however, Kerx Zyron was able to grab the rifle and subdue the guard, if that was his aim, without alerting any of his cohorts. Ay Ge was able to help with some support, though.

Finally, the guard that Saoirse Flynn was chatting to started to take a bit more interest in what she had to say. Pirates, right?

With at least one door opened by Mathas and a guard held, and weapon stolen by Kerx, it was up to the rest to either get the cell block open or get their own gates open.

Options: Open the block, or risk more guards without backup, or risk the other pirates betraying you. Also, there should be a map somewhere.

As the guard drew close enough, he slipped the keycard from the pirate and tucked it up his sleeve.

"Go on and tell your boss that the sweeter he can make the deal for me, the better it gets for him."

As the spiced out freebooter turned to walk away, Vam piped up again.

Kerx felt his hand slipping on the rifle. What's worse is that the woman was now awake. She even asked him a question if he needed help. He, The Whispering Death? He could admit, it did look like a struggle but it was not out of his control. He reassured the girl by giving her a quick glance.

"Don't worry, I have killed bigger things before."

His cybernetic hand clenched harder and harder on the weequay's throat until you heard a snap. The pirate dropped to the floor and Kerx got the rifle from the corpse. He inspected it and it was just any old L3-E7 Blaster. Kerx wiped sweat off of his face and looked back at his cellmate. Before he could do anything else, he needed information to ensure that he can trust her.

"Before you say anything out of that pretty little mouth. I want to know some information first, sweetheart. Now, who in the name of God are you?"

That was it. Simple and easy. Just one question and that was it. Usually he would not be so rude like that, but he did not have time to sit down and chat with the girl. He needed to find a way out of here and fast. He leaned against the wall and checked the rifle more closely.

Ya, this'll work just fine.

He looked at the girl again to get a response but what happened next surprised him. He saw a lone Twi'lek and they asked him for Kerx's rifle. He knew what was going on. There were footsteps nearing the three. That Twi'lek was begin chased. This gun... he didn't know if the Twi'lek would give it back, free them, or what. The bounty hunter decided he did not have a choice. He could getout with similar methods other than just a blaster.

"You better know what you are doing and you better let me out of here after!"

He put the rifle through the doors and handed it to the unknown alien. Kerx looked over to his cellmate.

"You might want to take cover for this, sweetheart."

Ay stood stiff as a solider at attention while the man grappled with the guard, not showing any emotions to the somewhat unorthodox and painful death, though not her usual choice of killing what worked worked, even more so in a prisoner situation. "... fact so have I, but the awkwardness of your method required me out of social procedure to inquire about assisting you, though it appears as if your target has already been eliminated".

The dead guards weapon would be useful, but first the two would need to escape their cell, though it seemed the man would have needed information on her being before proceeding, trust issues? Probably, in all honesty Ay had some inquiries of her own, but for now said details could be put aside for the more pressing matter at hand. "Statement, yes I do conform to the standard and socially acceptable views of being pretty, thank you for taking note, answer my name is Ay Ge, as of now I class as unemployed though have extensive experience in individual threat removal".

Ay was unsure if he had heard her response before the sound of commotion echoed throughout the ship followed shortly by the arrival of a visibly winded green Twi'lek, wanting to acquire the blaster from her cellmate, a desperate attempt to arms one’s self in the face of an overwhelming enemy. "Sweetheart, noun, a person with whom someone is having a romantic relationship or used as a term of endearment or affectionate form of address, I was unaware of your feeling towards me, but I will not need to seek shelter from the ensuing fight".

The cell bars were not the most up to standard constructions, rust and other bits and pieces not fully secure as well as showing visible signs of fatigue, while the events outside played out Ay studied the cell bars, trying to pin point the weakest part of the metal. Soon she spotted a loose section its bolt long missing, rust and a bit of bending in the bars, probably from the cells last detainees, her best change to literately bust out of the cell to limited freedom.

Winding up her arm Ay let lose a powerful cybernetic enhanced back hand to the bars, making sure that the armoured part of her arm hit the metal construct, a sharp crack coming from the bars as the metal slightly snapped under the force, allowing a small exit that one could crawl through. "Statement, I have made an exit I will acquire your assistance in making it larger before we are set upon by guards".
