Téa sighed almost immediately after the Senior Minister opened his mouth. "What Mr. St Claire meant was... due to the-... desperation that these people are facing and the lack of funding that we are currently receiving in order to support the less advantaged, they can get rather, aggressive or rude at times. That of course does not excuse calling them "horrible", right, John?"

The man grunted abruptly in response, turning his attention to the crowds once more. Things had certaintly picked up but despite the low temperature and the freezing conditions, the two officials appeared unaffected as if they had grown so accustom to it after hours of standing out in the conditions; no, days.

"I can defend myself thank you very much. I don't need patronized by my sub-ordinate." The woman went quiet, she hesitated as if she was going to dispute but stood obediently at what he was going to say next. He sounded stern when speaking, but at the same time calm as if he knew the respect he commanded. "While we're both aware of what the Republic is playing these relief efforts off as, don't fool me for one second that some "benevolent" outside force could ever care as much for these people as I do. After standing out in the cold forwhat seems to have been months on end waiting for the idiots running the establishment to throw us some pennies to do our jobs and receiving nothing, you'll have to excuse my use of humor to stop the swelling tumor of loathing that is building in my head."

Another sigh escaped her lips. She was done fighting with him at this point.

"I'm telling you, this is a wild nerf chase."

Ever shook her head. Of course it was a wild nerf chase. The big lummox made enough noise to scare anyone away that might be anywhere near their position. Not really, but she was used to listening for the tiniest of sounds while sneaking through jungle and other harsh terrain so he sounded seriously loud to her. The walls of the tunnel continued on down below them and around a bend, which probably held trouble for them because they'd gotten so far without running into any trouble. She hated it when they went so long without finding trouble. Partly because she wanted to fight someone, and partly because it meant they were drawing closer and closer to the point where they found something.

She tapped her point on the shoulder to stop him. He looked back at her and she tapped her left ear before pointing towards the corner in front of them. A not and the both of them moved slowly up against the wall and listened. Sure enough she heard some small scrapping sounds from impatient feet. That didn't tell her a lot, though. They could have just been locals hiding out from someone or something. Or it could be a wampa lying in wait for them. So, she grabbed a stun grenade and stepped away from the wall before pulling the pin and tossing it around the corner.

When it exploded, she moved around the corner with her stave ready, and found herself looking at several Imperial snow troopers. It surprised her enough that she barely had time to regain herself before they did the same. She fired off several shots, catching the first in the chest, and her squad mate also fired. They took down the handful of troopers with relative ease, and she lowered her stave to poke around at them, completely surprised to have run into Imperial's this far from their territory. Well, it wasn't that far, but it was far enough. More than likely they were an advance recon unit that was spying on the Republic because of where they were located.

"Well, that was unexpected," she said, shaking her head. "Better report it."

Belizarius thought it was about time to talk more with the local authorities. He walked briskly towards Téa Kensington-Evans and Qyren Vessk. At this point the young Jedi was missing his cloak, he had given it to a child when it seemed like blankets were going to get hard to come by. Belizarius was a bit of a sucker for these situations, he had spent years travelling between refugee camps and even in his youth had to deal with the impoverished conditions other children faced on Taris.

He was the son of wealthy merchants but the Krusi family knew that an easy way to stay powerful in politics was to donate to the poor and have them on your side. Charity work wasn't new to him and he knew that even the little they could do could make a large difference. He was being idealist, but the galaxy in it's current shape meant that you worked for the best solution possible, It was a sort of optimistic pragmatism. At this point he was frustrated though, this sort of local incompetence was usually found in refugee camps where governments had little time or resources to deal with them. This government seemed to take to this situation with a huge indifference.

He gave little attention to the two politicians at first, he was quick to ask Qyren "Do you know if the republic has anything to spare? My volunteers came with what could be quickly donated and funded but.... we obviously require more" bit of a white lie. He had actually transferred funds from his parents bank and used those credits to buy supplies. This wasn't something he often did but he made a promise when he was younger he'd only do so if it was to help others and never for himself.

At this point Belizarius was starting to feel the cold, he was slightly shivering but his way of handling it was to keep busy and work hard this was starting to affect the Jedi's temperment. It was only after this that his attention turned towards the two locals...

"Does this planets government have any idea about how to properly help these people? I can't help but feel we've been called in to help these people far too late for their own good. Absolutely useless" unfortunately he had no idea that he was actually talking with two government representatives but reality is, he would of been angry regardless.

Qyren glanced over to Tea as she moved to defend her superior. However the man's mouth had already damned him in the eyes of the trooper. He was a politician, and while his efforts were admirable, he was the same as the rest of them. Once his own statement had come to an end, the Lieutenant nodded at him. "Whatever you say, Sir. My job is just to make sure you and your subordinate are safe,"

Turning just in time to see the man approaching him, Qyren arched a brow beneath his helmet as the man spoke. He seemed to be another hoping to help these people, and if nothing else that was commendable. "I'm sorry, Sir." A phrase the officer was growing used to saying.

"Everything we have we have already given out. My men are getting some blankets rounded up from our mobile base, but that is all we have." He told the man.

Téa remained completely silent as the Jedi approached the trio, and she knew exactly how John was going to respond, or that's what she thought.

"Oh great. Another incompetent fool who has no idea how bureaucracy operates. Yo-You know what.." his hand raised to the bottom of his chin, stroking it for a few seconds as he pondered on an idea, "You know what... you deal with this this. The least I can do is minimize the PR disaster that this entire operation has been and stop making the department look completely idiotic." He stopped again, continuing to think. "Oh yes, that is a wonderful idea. Well, I won't bother you any longer. Toodaloo."

And yet another sigh. Téa's mouth opened sounding even more monotonous and bored than before, if that was even possible. "Most of the Ministers for this Department do this, since we're constantly in this crisis of never having enough money to do anything leaving me to pick up the pieces." she paused and spoke even quieter, meaning for only her self to hear it. "Of course they always forget I majored in Public Relations in University."

She looked back up at the man who had approached them, requesting more supplies, "Do you have any identification? We should have another shipment in soon, whether we have a surplus to donate to independent groups I'm yet to be informed of."

Belizarius responded to Qyren Vessk "That's fine, thought it would be worth trying. I think the Republic was so focused on building the power supply they didn't think that much about what to do with the people while they waited for that power supply to become active"

He also hardly took the male politician seriously, he had come across his type too many times before. Refugee camps were filled with self-proclaimed martyrs claiming that it wasn't their fault things were bad. Failure in this case came from many different departments. This was a failure of infrastructure investment, energy policy, welfare management. It wasn't just one department that was the problem and the entire government could look pretty bad from this happening. Belizarius simply nodded the man off.

When Téa Kensington-Evans asked for identification he was puzzled for a second, he was used to people just sort of allowing him as a Jedi to be in places but that was something that he couldn't always expect. Luckily he did manage to remember some of his briefing.

"I am Belizarius Krusi, I am a Jedi who volunteered with the Republic Military to come out this way. If you check their logs I would be in there somewhere. I don't tend to exactly carry around proper ID but I do have...." he was going through the pockets of his robe and managed to finally pull out an extremely beaten up datacard "That is a Tarisian passcard for the Olaris Sector, should hold basic financial information"

Passcards on Taris were practically cards which gave you access to somebodies credit information. Going from sector to sector could quite often be limited to how good your credit was.

Qyren had already elected to ignore the Secretary until he said something of worth, so far that time had not come. So when the man took his leave, the trooper made no indication that he was sad to see the man go. Behind his helmet there was a curt roll of the eyes that was quickly erased from the man's face. While Tea spoke to the apparent Jedi, Qyren's eyes caught the approaching squad of Republic Troopers.

The 501st had gathered what blankets they had in their command base, bringing them to the people in an act of charity. As Vessk's platoon Sergeant made his way over, the man met him with a few paced steps. "Is that all of them?" Vessk asked, looking over the blankets that were being carried on the skiff units.

"Yes, sir." Sergeant Skor responded, turning to the men and giving them a gesture to take the blankets over to the refugee huts. "Sergeant, make sure the sick, young, and old are seen to first." Vessk ordered, watching as the squad moved as ordered.

"Of course sir." Skor responded, before beginning to aid in the relief effort.

Returning to the Jedi and the secretaries assistant, Qyren glanced down at the ID the man had produced. He never knew Jedi to carry around much of anything, much less ID.

"I'm assuming this isn't forged given I don't know many criminals who would steal from a relief centre."She paused, trying to remember exactly where the supplies were. Another thought crossed her mind, and if he was particularly interested the man would be able to sense it, great, another self-entitled force user. Over the years, she had managed to mask her disdain in pleasant conversation, which she continued to do. "I'm not too sure exactly how much we'll be able to spare, depends on whoever is monitoring the supply levels and what they think is appropriate."

Some rustling could be heard, given their close proximity to the delivery doors, a few of the idle workers who had run out of their supplies now made way for the doors which had a truck inside unloading yet more supplies for the hungry masses.

Her eyes glanced over to the troopers as they began to distribute the blankets to the impoverished, turning to the Lieutenant in a calmer voice than earlier. "I apologize for my outburst. I'm just a little... frustrated at the mismanagement of funds within our government. I'm sure you understand."

"Because we have decided to stop running." She said, helping the child as he made his way to sit up.

"Things have changed, and we will run no longer. The sith are more powerful than ever, with the First Order in the east and The Sith Empire in the west, you cannot go far without finding an absurdly powerful group of dark siders. We want to change this. We are ready to stand up and fight for what we believe in. Freedom, justice, liberty." She then helped the child get up onto his feet, he needed the help.

"Your people will be cared for, but there are many more who need your help out in the wider galaxy. You could make a much greater difference."

The child slowly but surely hopped down off of the table he was on, finally getting a bearing for his feet. His face lit up with excitment as he made his first steps. Helping people felt great, it always did, the innocent needed to be helped and protected, and obviusly this man thinks similarly, however sometimes you had to give up helping innocents for a higher purpose, a cause greater than just one life. Hopefully Corrin would realize this soon enough.

"You still have much to learn; but you hold promise. I would like to offer you a place as my student. Whether you accept or decline, I will not judge your decision."

Corran was silent as he watched the Jedi help the boy to his feet, escorting him out of his small hut. He would be lying if the idea of helping others beyond his village didn't appeal to him. He had been raised to never look the other way when people needed help, even if it meant you had to fight for those ideals. And, some of her words struck a particular chord within himself. Lifting his gaze, his once dead gaze had become fiery with determination and cause. He had fled when his comrades had fallen. He had secluded himself here among these people, doing what he could to help them. No more.

"Then...I shall stop running as well."

He extended his hand to the side, the saberstaff sitting on the table flying across the room to his hand. He held it for a few moments, staring at the weapon before igniting the two green blades. The snap hiss of the heated plasma broke through the silence of the room, and the green glow illuminated Corran's face as he turned back to face the Jedi.

"What do you have in mind, Jedi?"

Jaster stood in front of the small reactor building. It was not enough to run the planet it'sself, but the few colonies that spotted the surface of the planet could recharge their cells. It also acted as a trading hub and bar for those who traveled the far distances to get the cells. The Republic Soldiers guarded the perimeter and wondered the snowy plains. He and the Construction Crew of the UTC just put up the finishing wallas and the electrical to allow outsiders to access the power. Jaster himself was just looking in aw at what the Republic Contracted him to build and it felt good. Good to provide this service to those in need.

The Foreman of the site walked up to him, "Viceroy, the building is in its final faze and should have its exterior finished in a month, the Civilians can access it none the less."

Jaster only radioed the Republic Forces in orbit and Government of Rinn. [collor=#ffd700]"Rinn power plant is complete, the Republic has cemented their presence and planet is secured."[/color]

Location: Colony 1138 [Home]

Objective: Investigate the tampering of fuel cells

Late at night, pretty much the entire colony shut down. The promenade was dark and silent, the halls were barely lit – any once of energy was spent to warm the colony in order to survive the harsh night of Rinn. Citizens were usually encouraged to stay in their living quarters, as that’s where the warmest places would be. It was rare that one would see someone roaming the station at this time of night, but here Cassius Droma was, walking down a hallway, barely lit by the white florescent lighting.

He stopped and turned his head, his breath coming out like hot steam. The jacket he was wearing had a furry collar and was puffy, but not too much as to restrict his movements. He knew that soon, he would need to move. Continuing down the hallway, he made his way to one of the more isolated parts of the colony, a place that was far away from the habitation areas, and was rarely patrolled by security. That’s when he knew they would come for him.

Right when he thought they would, he heard light footsteps behind him, as well as up ahead. They were slow at first, then fast, closing in to corner their prey. Cassius stopped and waited calmly, breathing evenly. Four people, three males and a female, all clad in black, stood around him – two on either side of the hallway. Their gloved hands held small hold-out blasters, the kind you could easily smuggle into places for political assassination. No doubt, they had illegal modifications to make them more powerful despite their small size.

“Is there a problem here, guys?” Cassius asked, his hands outstretched in a non-threatening manner. Without a word, one of them stepped forward and pointed their weapon at his chest. Just before she could pull the trigger, though, there was the curious sound of mechanical whirring from close by. She paused, her eyes squinting in confusion.

Before anyone else could react, T-4D4 appeared from behind two of the assassins and picked them up, slamming them against the wall. Using the distraction to his advantage, Cassius dipped to the left and pulled out his lightsaber, smacking the green blade against his would-be killer as the saber sparked to life. The last assassin fired off a volley of shots, but Cassius deflected them with ease before using the Force to slam him against a wall, stunning him.

T-4D4 looked to Cassius, and Cassius nodded back. Looks like they found the Imperial cell they were looking for.

Ultimately, with the work of Cassius Droma, the imperial cell on Rinn was discovered. They were summarily rounded up and sent off to prison while the unit that the Rangers found in the ice tunnels was mopped up and dealt with. The end result was that the people of Rinn were no longer under threat by an Imperial incursion. Some blood was spilled to make it so, but ultimately that was the price paid for security. War was not a business that came without sacrifice. The Imperials had known what they were signing up for, and they now found the results of it. Less than appealing though it might have been to them, they'd had the unfortunate misfortune of having to deal with the Republic, and now they were down for the count as a result.

Jaster of Clan Awaud and the crews of construction individuals managed to get the solar power facility installed on the planets surface despite difficult conditions. The result was such that the people of Rinn would no longer have to rely on faulty power cells, and would be supplied with a consistent source of power in the days to come. Solar power was far more reliable than fuel cells, which were easy to tamper with. It would keep the people of Rinn safe from freezing.

The people of the city who were suffering hardest as a result of power failure no longer need to suffer. The efforts of the people of the Republic have seen health returned to many of those suffering from hypothermia. Though a few were inevitably lost, old age being hard enough to deal with, the majority would end up making a full recovery in time. To ensure that the people of Rinn were properly secured for the future, the medical corp established a new medical facility within the city and supplied it with top of the line medical equipment for the future. Free of charge, of course. The Republic could afford to help people in such a way, being a major galactic government.

In the end, the efforts of the Republic won over the people of Rinn, who decided that a menial existence beneath the ice wasn't enough for them, and that they needed someone to look out for them so that the Empire didn't return to kill them off. They decided to join the Republic, and nominated Téa Kensington-Evans to be their delegate to the Senate. All in all, it was a smooth operation, and now Republic ships look out for the world, while the people live in relative peace.

“I’m not a youngling, you know. I’m fifty-three.”

―Meekerdin-maa

Lilla was ticking off sectors and planets from her virtual list as she accepted assignments from the Republic Remnant. Each was vetted by her Master – and she did not mind, trusting in his judgement of the likely risks and her development.

And so today she was heading to the Baxel sector, that was located within the Outer Rim Territories that crossed over to Wild space, with a border connected to what was once Hutt Space. Its capital was Teth in the Teth system, which was located at the outer border of the Outer Rim Territories.

But Lilla was heading to Rinn. It was a long-established planet that consisted mainly of plains and had three moons – the most famous of all was Iope, known as the place where the assassin X-7 hired a team of mercenaries to kill Luke Skywalker.
