"We can," he said, smiling. "And we will. I own a company that I took over from my father: Overlock Industries. We make ships among other things. I can get the people too."
And yes, he had noticed the we as well. In all honesty, he knew they weren't going to be separated anymore. The introduction of Teli into their lives had solidified the tie between them. Each was tethered to the girl, and by proxy, to each other. She had solidified things between them. It was an unfortunate way for it all to happen. He did not wish for her to have to deal with such a horror as she had. The loss of ones parents. He had killed his own father, but his mother lived. He didn't know how his mother dying would affect him.
She was adorable in her excitement. Having already had a purpose in her life, she was already making small waves. Together they could make big ones. He was giving her something she most desired, which suddenly made him feel guilty. Was he doing it for the right reasons? Was he giving her something in order to forcibly keep her close or because he wanted to help her complete her journey in life? Did it matter? Her choice of words seemed to indicate that she wanted to be around him.
He lifted his free hand and brushed fingers against her cheek. Soft, supple skin. A blue contrast to his green. Beautiful.
"I might be presumptuous, but I think it's the will of the Force that we are together."

I gazed up at Sobaan. Could this be true? How could I have been so lucky to stumble across such a treasure? He mentioned that he owned a company, inherited, that built ships. He had access to people, resources, and most importantly, he had a big heart and willingness to use it all for good. How could it be that I was fortunate enough to stumble upon the path of such a wonderful person? Then there was little Teli. She was an almost equally wonderful treasure; such a precious child. As I thought back to when she'd been hiding in the closet. It was incredibly lucky that we'd come along when we had, considering how we had to slip out before the sun rose, I shuddered to think what might have come of little Teli if we hadn't been there to rescue her.
But of course, I knew luck had nothing to do with it; any of it.
It was the force.
The togrutalian had said as much. I nodded at his words. He sounded... almost unsure of himself as he said it. Not that such as unusal. Even those who practiced utter trust in the force still found themselves second-guessing its effects on their lives. Even I was struggling to allow myself to believe that my destiny seemed to be so bright.
"Oh I have no doubt." I agreed quietly, keeping my eyes locked on his, "the force is mysterious. But... I'm very glad that it led our paths here."
I was tired. It had been an exhausting day with an interrupted sleep to boot. Yet... I couldn't tear my gaze away. All I wanted to do until I fell asleep was gaze into those eyes, feel his arms around me. Sure, I had felt secure at the orphanage. I had stayed in protected buildings with armed guards to keep us protected inside... but never had I felt as truly safe as I did right now, staring up into his eyes. Without entirely realising what I was doing, I leaned forwards.

The way she looked at him was alluring. She was most certainly the woman he was destined to be with, at least at this point in his life. Whether they remained together forever was something he couldn't speak on. Sure, he could see a lot of things, but he couldn't see into the future. If he could, he would be extremely worried about what was coming for them. But fortunately for the moment, he could not. Instead he was focused on enjoying the comfort of her body against his, and the joy on her face. She really was excited about being there with him, and the future he was outlining.
He brushed his hand against her cheek and then pushed some of the hair back around her face. So beautiful. He wondered what Jyn would think of her. For that matter, he wondered what his mother would think of her. It had been a long time since he'd gone to see her, but he worried that if he went now she would be devastated to see him so old. Considering he should only be twelve years old, it might come as a shock to her, and he didn't really want to be the cause of his mother's death. Though, he did need to see her.
"The Force is a fickle thing, but it often makes good things happen," he said, offering her a smile. "Even in the midst of bad things."
There was them coming together, and there was Teli. It was a terrible circumstance that had brought her to them, but he was grateful to have her. She was such a cute little girl, and he was going to treat her like the little princess that she was. He would make sure she remembered her parents and the sacrifice they made for her, but he would make her life good in the future too. Yes, he was certain that Kintsugi would do the same for her as well. They would be a good little blended family. With three different skin tones.
She was staring into his eyes and he into hers. When she leaned forward, he instinctively did the same, and before either of them could even have the chance to second guess themselves, they kissed, and sealed their future with each other in so doing.
