She knew the manner to go about telling Silfe about her ability would hit her like lightning and it happened as they talked about her people. The code she followed was that of her people. Doing a bit of a mental smile, Jairdain listened to what else her friend had to say.

"Peace is sadly a delusion. Something to strived for certainly, but it won't ever happen fully."

When she had initially met Lady Kay, she had been a teenager and wanted nothing more than to be a diplomat or consular. In a way that dream had come true, but not in exactly the way she had anticipated.

"You may see yourself at a low point in your life, Silfe, but you can come out of it. There was a time in mine that was very dark and I recovered. Lady Kay actually was the capping point to that. By offering me the opportunity to consul Brad. Anyway, that's not something I really want to talk about right now."

While that lightning had struck her, she would ride it down and open the topic up to Silfe.

"Are you at all familiar with the Codes of the Jedi or Sith? In your line of work, I would think you should have some form of education on them. As the last of my people I think somebody else should know of the Code we had. It applies to far more than ideals to using the Force, but life itself."

The prospect of coming out of her dark place was one she wished she could see. Right now, it all seemed rather bleak, but she did acknowledge she had friends here, even if a part of her wondered if they really were friends to begin with. Politics made for strange bedfellows. IT was possible her idea of friendship had been delusional. Harsh thoughts such as this plagued her quite a bit these days. She shoved them aside however, returning her full attention to @Jairdain.

"My father did have me instructed in their codes and the basic interpretations of them throughout history. My history teacher was quite fond of those lectures and put a lot of interest into them that caught a young pupil's attention. Why? Is there something I should know?" Silfe asked politely curious.

Jairdain finished off her drink and kept a hold of her glass. There was a reason for it and it would soon become clear why. She listened to what Silfe said about her knowledge of the Codes and nodded. When she asked if there a reason for her being questioned, Jairdain nodded. However, she could also tell there was still a cloud of doubt hanging around her friend and she thought on what it might be caused by.

Holding the now empty glass out to Silfe, she indicated for her to take it.

"Try to break it again. They were supposed to be unbreakable, yet you broke the one. First one of the collection for that to happen to. Now I'm not worried about that and hopefully your cuts are fine now. But there is a reason for my questioning and asking you to try and break that."

There was a skill she thought Silfe manifested a few moments ago without even knowing it. It was called shatterpoint and picked up on the weak points in pretty much anything. The user could then target those weaknesses and get through. She thought that is what Silfe did when she broke the glass.

Not yet able to pinpoint what was bothering Silfe, she would not be able to address that issue and have to wait until it was given voice.

Silfe took the glass, confused. Even as Jairdain explained about the shatterproof glass she broke, Silfe could not imagine that she had done it with anything other than pressure on a weak part of the glass somewhere. She honestly didn't even understand what Jair was asking and thus tried to break the glass physically. After several moments of trying however, she simply shook her head.

"Perhaps it was a manufacturing defect, or the glass had some kind of worn area that allowed the breakage. It had to have been some kind of freak accident. I can't break the glass."

The confusion was natural and Jairdain expected this. Giving Silfe the time she needed to try and break the glass when she admitted she couldn't, she nodded.

"Exactly. There was nothing wrong with the previous glass either. Trust me, they've been dropped and knocked over enough that it would have broken before now if there was something weak with it."

Now the most difficult part of this exchange was going to happen. Telling her friend of her Force ability and getting her to believe it. Having been a consular helped sometimes, but not always. There was no easy way to say it except by being upfront about it.

"Silfe, you can use the Force. When you were holding the glass before, you were filled with emotion and on a basic level broke the glass with the Force."

She placed the glass on the table beside her. Despite knowing she could not break the glass, she handled it gingerly anyway. As she returned her full attention to Jairdain, she found herself knowing somehow what would come out of her mouth next. Was it odd that she did not act with surprise at the news? Perhaps. Silfe simply felt like she had somehow known this for some time or at least guessed it from the shattering of the glass.

She sat back and pursed her lips in thought. Finally she sighed. "I spent my whole life at the mercy of a man who made everything miserable and painful for me. I wished when I was a little girl, that I would be able to use the Force like the Jedi and defend myself from my father, escape and become a part of the world. I wanted to be strong and able to defend myself so bad I cried... a lot. I don't know how I went from that to this. Like everything from the last two years, it is a mystery and I do not know at all what to do about it. I don't want to be a Jedi. I loved being a diplomat. Of course, that job is lost to me know. I am just lost."

Jairdain listened to her friend speak of her past with her father and nodded. There was much of her past that wasn't known by many people and as strong as she was, she too had spent some of her life at the mercy of a man that made everything miserable to her. A small bitter smile crossed her face when Silfe said how she wanted to be strong and be able to defend herself. About the times she spent crying and the mystery of how she got to where she was now.

"I wouldn't ask you to be a Jedi. What I might ask of you though is take lessons so you can learn control. That has nothing to do with codes or ethics, but at your stage right now, you might do more than just break a glass."

Her friend had wanted to be a diplomat and Jairdain nodded again.

"You and I are alike there. When I joined the Silvers, I wanted nothing more than to be a consular or diplomat. Lady Kay gave me that opportunity, chance and here I am. I love them like family, but I don't think that will be an option much longer, Silfe. Brad is missing and has been since before Commenor fell."

Silfe might be feeling lost, but that was just a small portion of what Jairdain felt. Her whole world was crashing down around her, but she attempted to maintain a strong face and not show just how weak she was right now.

Training? Silfe considered her friend's words. She always thought that if someone had Force abilities, that they were going to have to turn into either Jedi or Sith, or grey Jedi or WItches. If she remembered correctly, there were many different names, but they all had standards by which one lived and all required some kind of commitment. All Silfe wanted was to be committed to Commenor, her home, and the people she cared for. She could see Jairdain's point though. She had just shattered a glass through her emotional state. What more danger could happen if she couldn't control the outburst at another time? Jair had not been near and therefore had not been hurt, but it could easily have been a worse situation than it had. She nodded. "Seems like the best option for me."

She looked up at the mention of Bradshaw Ku, a man both women present loved. "He is missing?" She was surprised, and worried, both emotions exuding from her unhindered and obvious. Silfe expected that Jairdain had done a great deal of searching to find him. He was after all, her fiancee. Surely Lady Kay would not turn away Jair from being a part of Commenor's governing body simply because Brad was gone? Then again, Jair's job had been mentoring Brad. It seemed like they were both worried they were no longer a part of the family they had both come to love. She pressed her lips together in worry and sadness, sitting back against her chair. "What do we do now?"

Nodding when Silfe agreed it was best to take lessons. She held a hand out to her friend like an offer. Not knowing if she knew anybody else that could use the Force, Jairdain might be the only help she could get right now.

"I won't press you to follow any code, what you do is your own choice. You need a general education far more than anything specific to follow."

That was all she said at the moment because the conversation had now focused on Brad. Nodding again at the point where Silfe asked in surprise for confirmation that Brad was missing.

"I returned to Commenor to do a couple things. Sadly I don't feel my job remains, but am just now a member of society, even if a little higher than the normal population. In my condition, my hands are pretty tied on what I can or can't do."

It was more talking about her being blind than anything else, but there were other factors to include. Not yet wanting to speak of those, she kept quiet on them. Only one other person knew of things as it was. Not even Lady Kay knew everything and Jairdain wanted it kept that way until things were obvious. There was no doubt when that happened, it would be clear that she and Brad were no longer engaged.

"What do we do? I'm not sure if you have any connections that could attempt to look up Brad and find him, but I have done everything I can. All I can think of doing is waiting to see if he returns on his own. As for the other issue, I can offer to teach you control if that is a route you want to take."

There was a smile at the end of her speaking and she truly hoped the offer would be accepted.

Silfe could not help but return the smile. She had always felt connected to Jairdain even when she had been worried about Bradshaw Ku enjoying his playboy ways with his new advisor. It had turned out to be a valid worry but she tried not to dwell on that too much. Was she being naive? Perhaps. Or perhaps she just accepted that she had only dated Brad for a few months and while it had been promising, she had not tied him down to anything and they had had no monogamous agreement. Then too was her own disappearance. She couldn't blame Brad for moving on. Her mind knew this and to some degree, so did her heart even though it was giving a valiant fight against logic when she was in the quiet of her own bed at night.

"I think we best train me up, at least on basics. I appreciate the offer of the no strings training. I am sure it will help, if only with the small things." Little did she know that in a very short time, she would have quite the realization that the sooner she was trained, the better.

Her mind shifted to the fact that neither woman had a job and she grew a bit worried. "You... pardon me if this sounds indelicate, but are you well off enough to handle not having a job? I have plenty if its needed until we both get on our feet." It was a solid offer coming from her friend. Her sincerity in wanting to make sure Jair was taken care of as well as herself was evident in the emotions she had yet to learn how to hide from a force user.

Allowing Silfe to finish speaking before she said her own thoughts, a point was brought up, but she had an answer waiting.

"I belong to the Silver Jedi and they can provide a place to stay if I ever need one. However, I was able to save money while the advisor. Lady Kay paid me a handsome salary and with how I lived, I didn't need that much. So a nice amount of savings has been gathered."

During their time away, they had also been separate for a good amount of time. It was then, Jairdain had learned she was pregnant and kept their son secret. Even now Marcus was unknown to all but a handful of people. Silfe would learn of him, but not today.

"If you will, listen to the code I follow and see if you think it is something you can use."

Her tone had changed slightly and had taken on something akin to an instructor to a student. However, she did not treat Silfe like one and was a friend to her.

"Flowing through all there is balance.

There is no peace with a passion to create.
Knowledge stagnates without the strength to act.
Power blinds without the serenity to see.
There is freedom in life.
There is purpose in death.
The Force is all things and I am the Force."

"That was the code of my people, but they did not know of the light and dark that we do."

Silfe listened and thought through the code as presented by @Jairdain. She didn't know if she believed there should always be a balance. As an optimist, she hoped that there would always be more light than dark, more good than bad. Yet as she went through the rest of the code, she found she liked it in general. It did not exclude the passion of creation... art, music, science, etc. Knowledge was never enough on its own. Serene insightfulness was an extreme strength for those who are in power. Life was freedom, though many chose to use it like a prison. Death was always important, though some was senseless.

She nodded. "It is an interesting code and unlike what I have heard before. I don't know if I agree with everything, but I feel a code is often lacking a significant amount of information. I always felt like there was just so much more left to interpretation or completely unrepresented so that loop holes the side of an armada were easily used to add corruption to one's soul." She shrugged. "But then again, I am not well versed in these things."

"I am glad that you are able to take care of yourself financially. I expected so but I didn't want you to feel alone. You are not."

"There is as much merit in the Jedi and Sith Codes as there is in the one of my people."

There was a small hint of something in her words. Jairdain, to her knowledge was the last of her people. Human she might be, but her culture and beliefs she felt were unique to her now.

"I don't plan to enforce any code on you. It's not my place to do such a thing, just offering you another option if you decide to pursue a path."

Giving her friend a smile at her last comment. Her eyes lit up for a moment when Silfe said she wasn't alone.

"Nobody is ever fully alone. At least that's how I feel. Memories are sometime such wonderful companions."
