The clatter of patrons setting down their drinks, using tiny metal utensils to cut into their food, or setting down their cards in defeat filled the entire casino on Abregado-Rae. The Merchant's Wife, the establishment was called, and a fine establishment it was. Ornate gold columns wove itself up the walls in a conclave fashion, and high lanterns filled the room with yellow, ambient light. It was the ideal setting for someone who did not want to be known, or someone who really wanted to be known -- the freedom of being on a planet not under the jurisdiction of a Galactic Superpower was palpable for many. And that included Kiff Brayde.
Normally, you wouldn't find a Confederacy High Marshal in a casino such as this. The Vicelord frowned on 'risky financial expidentures,' and not to mention the obvious public-relations detriment of a top military officer drinking in a common bar. But despite that, Kiff Brayde was not the average military commander. He had a large purse, a keen taste for fine wine, and a hunger in his eye. The constant stress of battle after battle was gambled away in the night. And this night, especially.
An open table sat in the middle of the room, the cards for the Corellian Spike version of Sabaac stacked neatly in a table. Shifting himself over, he sat himself in the dealer's spot while his hands shuffled the deck, tapping them sideways to keep them straight as he cut the deck into half and flipped them together. He had a feeling that this would be a quite unusual game, and for someone who had seen quite a bit of unusual things, that meant quite a lot. Hopefully, he wouldn't be dissapointed.
