Thurion Heavenshield

You, your mother, and the rest of your family are in my prayers. I’m not sure what nationality you are, but I’d like to take this moment to genuinely thank your dad for his service to his country. If you ever need anyone to talk to feel free to message me.

HOOAH!

As a few of you know, my indoctrination for ROTC starts Saturday morning. That means no phone, no computer, no nothing. These heathens are even taking away my watch so I don't know what time it is. Yay! Anyways, all posting on my accounts will stop for at least a week.

The winning team decides on whether the button comes back or not.

Pretty sure that comment just opened the doors for wanton godmodding and metagaming the likes of which we have never before witnessed and may never witness again.

Also, I hope nobody takes this too seriously and DDoS's the site again over it.

It seemed their lessons would be built around the trial-and-error model. Fair enough. It was as good a teaching method as any. Jahan would just have to prepare himself for a small amount of trial and a considerably greater deal of error.

While he studied business on Lorrd, Judas made a habit of watching the local underground bare knuckle boxing matches that were typically held in some of the poorer areas of the city. Some of his friends had really gotten him interested in the sport, and it was quite a fun time betting on which fighter would hit the concrete first. He had picked up a few things while watching them over the years, maybe something he could employ here.

He entered a more defensive stance, trying to ready himself in the event that Jahan might launch himself across the floor at Wayne. He saw that the bounty hunter held his hands open rather than closing his fists, telling him that his mentor likely favored grappling to striking. The Cathar held a strong stance; there was very little chance that Judas would be able to get him onto the floor.

Wayne bent his legs slightly, keeps his fists loosely closed to keep Jahan guessing. As he inched forward, the Epicanthix would quickly send out a right jab directed towards the bounty hunter's sternum. However, he would pull back at the last second in hopes of drawing out Jahan's guard. He would follow with a heavy left hook directed at the Cathar's temple in an attempt to floor his opponent quickly. It was a bit of an unorthodox move, maybe even one his mentor wouldn't be expecting.

Wayne Tech Temporary HQ Roon

Judas Wayne sat behind the desk in his makeshift executive office on Roon. His company had yet to source the funding for a full-time headquarters, so this is what he had to work with until they were able to construct something a little more official. The blueprints were already being drawn up by an architecture firm, though the Wayne Tech CEO was still hoping to locate an old Techno-Union structure to inhabit instead. The costs of building the structure they had in mind was astronomical, and he greatly wished to shuffle at least some of those funds elsewhere. For now, he was at least grateful that this building had AC.

He sat awaiting a certain Darth Vesper for negotiations regarding a potential business agreement. He had been vehemently opposed to meeting a Sith of any kind, as the death of his parents by the hand of Force-using warmongers had left him with a deep-seeded hatred towards those that wielded their gift with reckless abandon. However, partially due to the practical begging of his advisers, he had agreed to meet with the Darth despite his feelings towards the Sith Empire.

While he waited, Judas looked over the rough draft of the terms he wished to negotiate on. His goal was to hire some of Luxarc's doctors to train some of his own people in medicine, all in exchange for weapons and armor for Vesper's security guards. Judas just hoped he would be able to hold back his anger before it spoiled the negotiations.

It seemed that they had come to an accord. Judas would take the datapad, giving the form a quick look over before filling out the final bits of relevant information on the screen.

He smirked at her not-so-discreet mention of combat ships. She needn't worry, the vast majority of his customers were those in the business of war. After all, what business would a defense corporation have the modern Galaxy if it didn't cater to such customers. His problem lied with those who slaughtered innocents across planets and warmongered because they could.

"Indeed, Miss Marc, I believe we have an agreement. Official documentation and the like can be mailed to my office for a final signing of the contract."

He took a brief moment to pack his things back into the briefcase before pulling out a business card and sliding it across the desk to her. It would include his business address, as well as both office and personal comm numbers in case she needed to speak with him directly.

"Now, I do believe that concludes our meeting today ma'am. Unless, of course, you have any further questions for me? I would be happy to remedy any final concerns you might have."

Judas was quite impressed with the degree of comfort and security the Chiss Ascendancy had provided to make their esteemed guests feel safe and at-home. This was probably the first technical business meeting he had attended where he didn't seem like the one struggling to a squeeze a contract for his company. All in good time, he thought to himself. Still, despite the security provided he still insisted upon bringing a bodyguard of his own along. One could never be too careful these days.

Upon entering the majestic building, the Wayne Tech CEO was greeting by a man providing him with a VIP badge. He was then directed to what he could only assume was the meeting room. It was a grand setting if he had ever seen one, the exquisite architecture of the interior topped by an expensive-looking table in the middle of the room. This immediately told Judas something about these people; they had a lot of wealth and they were going to great lengths to display it. The private escort, the palace-like building, and now an excessively fancy table as the centerpiece of the room. This was something he would have to keep in mind during negotiations.

He saw a Chiss woman sitting at the head of the table as he walked into the room. That could only be their host for this grand affair. He straightened the tie on his Executive Protection Armor. The black pinstripe suit would appear, by all accounts, to be just that. This couldn't be farther from the truth, however. Rusty's Custom Firearms and Cutlery had designed this baby to withstand all sorts of damage in the event of an attack, once again displaying Judas's semi-paranoia about these events. If this did turn out to be trap then he would probably be much better prepared than the rest of his peers.

He approached the blue-skinned woman at the head of the table, displaying his usual charming smile and offering his hand in a gesture of greeting. "Judas Wayne, CEO of Wayne Technologies. Would it be fair of me to assume that you are our host tonight?"

Fair enough.

Looking at it from her perspective, there was indeed no guarantee that none of Corellia Digital's allies would purchase from him in an amount that would make up for the initial investment of one million credits. He was asking her to roll the dice, and it was understandable why she was hesitant. Maybe if he were representing Iron Crown Industries or something similar then she would be more keen to gamble on him. However, Wayne Tech didn't carry much buzz as of yet and betting on them would be a bit of a shot in the dark.

However, her new proposition interested him greatly. Defense products were his company's specialty, after all. Equipping a major corporation's security droids was as good a contract as he could possibly ask for.

"Indeed, that would interest me considerably. What would you need from me, Miss Marc? Like you said, armor and weaponry would be paramount. Would our current model of armor suit your needs or would you prefer we develop something a little more custom? And would you want the provided rifles to come with our previously adverstised Ion Beamer Attachment or no?"

Judas unscrewed the lid to his bottle of water to take a sip of the cool liquid. The air seemed a bit dry today, leaving his throat more than a bit scratchy. Maybe his company should start developing a humidifier or something.

"Also, one more key question: How many droids would I be supplying? Are we talking in the hundreds or the thousands?"

Judas was a bit disappointed that she didn't have as much a need for his product as he had hoped, though he had sort of seen it coming. This was a banking corporation after all, not a private military contractor. Still, he would now have to find an alternative that would suit them both.

"Forgive me if I come off as a little overconfident here, but I very much believe that my company has the potential to make quite an impact in the near future. I think you believe this too, or else you wouldn't consider investing in us at all. I currently own all shares of my company, and in a few years I believe that a 10% stake will be worth far more than one million credits. Forgive me if I would rather wait until then to start selling my shares. As a fellow businesswoman I'm sure you understand my financial logic."

Judas, being the man he was, didn't go into the meeting with only one deal in mind. He realized his product would have differing appeals to different groups of people. Corellia Digital didn't need what he was selling, but like Ms. Marc said, there were others that did.

"Here's my revised offer, Miss Marc. You write me a check here and now for a small sum of one million credits. Then, as you said, you link me to some potential business partners of yours. For the next two years, any contract we make through your acquaintance will grant you a 25% royalty payment until you make back your initial investment of one million credits. Then, until the two year mark is up, you will receive a 7% royalty payment to increase your profit. Like I said before, we will also throw in a few of our previously advertised products as well for use at your discretion. Does this sound like a fair deal?"
