The Yalilyr

14 October 2017 - 06:11 PM

  • Intent: To Sub a neat Mandalorian unit for the new age.
  • Role: An elite group used to guard things of high value to Death Watch
  • Links: N/A

  • Unit Name: Yalilyr
  • Affiliation:  Aryn Spar,  Ra Vizsla, Death Watch
  • Classification: Elite Guard
  • Equipment:

-Various Weaponry

  • Availability: Rare
  • Deployment: Limited
  • Strengths & Weaknesses:

[+]Mandalorian: The Yalilyr, or hunters, are Mandalorians to the bone. These are men and women who were born and raised within the traditions. They are exceptionally skilled in combat and strategy, each one capable of taking on Jedi, Sith, and any other elite warrior that cross their paths. They are extremely skilled combatants and know their way around most weaponry. They are also exceptionally observant, whatchful of everyone and everything around them.

[+]Loyal: The men and women who join this group are specifically chosen by Aryn to be as loyal as possible. Many of them come from Clan Spar or allies of Clan Spar and served Ra in the first part of his reign. The men and women of Yalilyr participated within the Crusades, and when the true Mand'alor returned they did not hesitate to unite beneath his claim. The Yalilyr are extremely loyal to Ra and Death Watch.

[-]Strong Personalities: As one might expect, members of the Yalilyr are extremely touchy about their honor, who they serve, and what they are expected to do. These soldiers do not take well to outsiders, even less so to taking orders from people they deem "below" them. They are an effective group, but its clear that they only listen to two or three people total, and even then will sometimes argue. The Yalilyr are not blindly loyal soldiers, but instead serve those who they see as worthy.

[-]Not Versatile: Founded for a specific purposes, the Yalilyr have no specialists among them. The men and women within this group are soldiers, trackers, and that's about it. None of them are exceptional pilots, slicers, or engineers. As such they are not suited to being an invading force or army, but rather are strictly held to their position as defenders of Mand'alor and the upper tiers of Death Watch.

  • Description:

With the recent rash of assassination attempts on both the life of True Mand'alor Ra Vizsla and his Lieutenant Aryn Spar, it was deemed necessary that a guard be formed.

Being Mandalorian, and thus being grand combatants in it of themselves, neither Aryn nor Ra wished for any true 'guard' to constantly be surrounding them. Instead what they created would be something else. The Yalilyr were founded shortly after Ra's declaration of his return, not to serve as a true Guard, but instead to scour out those who would strike at Death Watch.

In Mandoa'd 'Yalilyr' means Hunters, and that is what they are.

Created for the sole purpose of tracking and hunting would be assassins that strike at Death Watch.

Members of the Yalilyr do not stand around Ra or any Lieutenant for the entire day. They do not attempt to shield their charges with their bodies, nor do they hurry them along inside. Instead the Yalilyr seek out those who would strike at their leaders. When an attempt is made the Yalilyr seek out their prey instantly, utilizing their skills to track and find whomever struck at Death Watch.

Having been trained since birth, the Yalilyr are excellent warriors and trackers, well suited for their task within Death Watch.

Bayr Tki'r

  • Intent: To sub a fortress for Death Watch
  • ‚ÄčImage Credit: J.C Park, me, Ra Vizsla

  • Military Base Name: Bayr Tki'r
  • Classification: Defensive Fortress
  • Location: Concordia
  • Affiliation: Death Watch
  • Population:

The Bayr as many people simply call it isn't an overly large outpost. At maximum capacity the fortress can only hold about Two thousand men and women, and this number is pushing it's capacity. Generally the Bayr is only garrisoned by about seven hundred men and women, usually kept only as an outpost and prison where more valuable detainees can be safely held. In an emergency however the Bayr Tki'r can fill to the prim.

  • Accessibility:

As might be expected, the Bayr Tki'r is absolutely located in the middle of nowhere.

Concordia was long ago mined to almost desolation. The Bayr sits within the middle of the worlds most hazardous mining zone. All around it are marked cliffs and dugout sinkholes, deep pits and expansive layers of mining waste. The fortress itself has been dug into one of these former mines, buried and reinforced with heavy durasteel plates. The Bayr is also hidden within the mountains, making it difficult to spot from high above.

Getting to the Bayr is not a simple task, by foot, speeder, or even air.

  • Description:

The Bayr Tki'r is not a pretty structure, it is not beautiful and it was most certainly not built to catch anyone's eye. The building is mostly buried within the an old mine, hidden from view. The only thing that is readily apparent above the surface is a large hangar bay door and two towers sticking out of the mountain rock. Every bit of the fortress blends into its surroundings, holding the same drab gray as the stone.

Bayr is a fortress, and it's inside as well as outside reflects this to perfection. The entire place was created to hold Warriors, and thus every hall, every room, and every little alcove is bare to the bone. Everything is streamlined and well put together, from the barracks to the Armory.

It is clear that while it was being constructed the Architect had only war in mind. The corridors are winding and confusing, with many alcoves and pockets. Auto-turrets and blast doors are everywhere, and the prison cells sit at the deepest part of the mine. The Bayr is a structure designed for a fight, and only for those who know it.

Hangar: The Hangar bay is the most obvious feature of the Bayr. Located in the site of the Mine's old staging quarters, the hangar bay is an expansive area hold enough to hold two transports and a squadron of fighters. The bay itself is well organized and put together, no tools out of place and everything finely squared away.

The door of the Hangar Bay is a massive Durasteel blast door reinforced with Titanium and length of Beskar film. The door is meant to take a beating, Ray shield projectors hovering over it in case the blast door were ever to fail. This is the only known entrance and exit to the Bayr, and it's defenses reflect that.

Command Tower: The only other section of the Fortress that is found above the ground.

The Command Tower is where all communications to and from the Fortress occur. This structure is built of durasteel and duracrete, lined with fiberplast and painted to match the surrounding rock face. The Command Tower blends into the environment and holds various tools that the garrison of the Bayr Tki'r regularly utilize in their day to day activities. Without the command tower the Bayr would lose communications, though it could still function well enough.

Barracks: The Barracks are the living space of those who reside within the fortress.

Plain as one might imagine, most of the barracks are nothing more than communal showers, large rooms containing racks of beds, and of course other amenities that soldiers require. There is nothing fancy about the barracks, though hardly anyone complains about them.

The Barracks are located very close to the Armory.

Armory: Containing most weapons stored within the fortress, the Armory is one of the most well defended areas of the entire structure. Auto-turrets, three blast doors, as well as a twenty four hour guard stand watch over the weapons kept inside of the armory. Located closely to the Barracks, the Armory is incredibly important if the Bayr were ever to be attacked by enemies of Death Watch.

Despite it's important status, most men and women carry their own weapons within the Bayr.

Prison: Located at the very bottom of the fortress hundreds of meters below the earth, the Prison of the Bayr Tki'r is one of the most secure places in the entire galaxy.

This isn't a boast, and also isn't due to any special security measure that the fortress itself takes. The fact of the matter is that the prison is quite plain. It has standard cell doors, standard ray shield projectors, auto-turrets and of course blast doors.

The trouble with escaping this prison is the fact that between you and the exit sits an entire structure filled to be the brim with Mandalorian Soldiers. The prisons location at the very bottom means that any escapee would have to traverse the Bayr's maze like tunnels, all the while fighting against some of the best soldiers the galaxy has ever seen.

Though not the most well defended Fortress in the entire galaxy, the Bayr Tki'r is perhaps one of the most easily defensible.

The entire structure is built into a mountainside, and there is only one way in and one way out. The mine that had once been the Bayr is built hundreds of meters into the ground, and its tunnels have all be reconstructed and reinforced with durasteel plates and rebar, keeping the structure up and secure. The entire complex is a complex woven interlace of hundreds of tunnels, almost maze like in their construction. Dozens of blast doors, ray shield projectors, and auto-turrets line the halls.

The fortress itself is dug deep into the mountain, meaning it is incredibly resistant against most forms of attack, even orbital bombardment. The two exposed parts of the building are the command tower and the hangar bay door. These are both protected by a powerful shield generator within the facility itself. The door to the Hangar bay is triple thick durasteel reinforced with a ray shield projector.

All in all the Bayr Tki'r is hardly the most impenetrable fortress in the galaxy, but it is one of the most well defended. Those who enter the Bayr rarely leave it without permission of the Death Watch, and fighting ones way inside is a nightmare that even most Sith would shy away from.

The Bayr Tki'r is not an ancient or old fortress, in fact it is less than just a few months old.

It was constructed originally at the behest of Aryn Spar.

The building was set to become a defensive fortification for the Death Watch lead by Aryn. Constructed to become the last vestige of freedom should Death Watch ever be eradicated. It was commissioned during the first reign of Ra, when the crusades tore through the galaxy and the Mandalorians were at their apex.

Though construction was slow, the mines were reinforced, the tunnels were rebuilt, and the hangar bay at the top of the Bayr was constructed in short order.

Things were nearly finished when Ra disappeared, his death shattering much of the confidence held by Death Watch.

As soon as the loss of the Mand'alor was announced many people fled from the project, deciding their time was better spent elsewhere. The Bayr Tki'r stood untouched for some time, fading away from memory until only very recently.

Aryn returned to the structure some months ago, using resources from Clan Spar and other supporting Mandalorians to finally finished the construction of the Bayr.

The Fortress now serves it's intended purposes.

Aryn's Maul

08 October 2017 - 08:47 PM

  • Intent: To Sub a proper weapon for Aryn
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Restricted Missions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Me, I'm great.

  • Manufacturer: Mandalorian Beskar Smiths
  • Model: Maul
  • Affiliation: Aryn Spar
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Beskar

  • Classification: Maul
  • Size: Two-Handed
  • Length: 1.8m
  • Weight: 18kg

  • Spiked Back End
  • Studded Front

  • War Hammer: Aryn's Maul is by no other definition a massive war hammer. The thing is a solid lump of Beskar fixed atop a long Beskar pole. One side of the weapon is a flat studded surface most often used for pummeling things while the other end is a large Beskar spike that can be used to penetrate everything from thick durasteel to heavy armors. The weapon is massive, making most adults seem like children when they hold it. In the hands of someone like Aryn, the Maul is truly deadly.

  • Bulk: It's not exactly easy using a weapon like this. The Maul is big and bulky, swinging it around is difficult even for someone of Aryn's stature. Though it is capable of doing massive damage, against a more agile opponent it is all but useless.
  • Weight: The Maul weighs more than several small children put together, and as such requires someone of immense strength to move it. Though most adults are able to pick it up, using it as a weapon for anyone but Aryn(or someone of similar size) is near impossible.

Aryn has never been a subtle person.

His immense bulk and size make getting around unnoticed rather difficult. This was something he's always embraced, utilizing his body as it's own tool in combat. His teeth and Claws had long since been replaced with Beskar, making them more than formidable weapon, but as of late the Togorian has felt somewhat inadequate.

Compared to many of his Mandalorian brothers he has no great amount of tools, carrying no blasters, flamethrowers, or even a jetpack.

Thus Aryn decided he needed something else.

The result of this was a massive Maul forged for him by the Beskar Smith's of Mandalore.

The weapon was easily one of the largest of it's kind ever created, a pure hunk of metal that had been forged for the sole purpose of killing. The War Hammer stood taller than most human females, weighed as much as a small child, and was as plain as could be. The only decoration that lay upon the weapon are two simple symbols.

One is the three claw marks of Death Watch, the other is the winged tusks of Clan Spar.

This is the OOC for this skirmish.

The thread is meant to be a fun sort of espionage game rather than a straight up combat thread. Enjoy :)

Things Hidden

18 September 2017 - 08:57 AM

Tingel Arm - Former Dominion Territory

Outpost Kresh

Tyrian slowly drummed his fingers on the side of the small table, his eyes wandering across the datascreen lingering in front of him.

Things had gone well over the last few months, extremely well. Raekkar has grown to exceptional strength, The Sith had won their war against The Dominion, and in the Legion's aid of the Galactic Empire's conquest of the Silver Jedi they had gained much. Money, technology, half a dozen Jedi Prisoners. All of it had been taken from Charros and brought back here. In truth Tyrian hadn't known what to do with them originally, but by now he figured the Sith would want them.

For whatever reason the two cults were always hounding one another, best to feed into that need.

The soldier shifted slightly as he drew himself up from the desk and shut down the data-terminal.

Things were going well, his plans were moving along and everything was quickly coming together. The Legion was now growing into an effective army and their equipment was improving day by day. Allaria had proven to be more than useful, the Yuuzhan Vong biots that she created being extremely effective against the Jedi they'd faced as of late. When the time came for his move, he hoped the same would be true of the Sith they'd inevitably face.

If there was one thing he was sure of it was the fact that they wouldn't like someone not of their own ilk rising to power. A normal person standing among them would be disgusting, but with enough military strength at his back they would just have to learn to live with it.

Tyrian stepped from his tent, eyes wandering over the small encampment.

Outpost Kresh, as they were calling it, was nothing more than a large collection of pre-fabricated buildings and tents surrounded by some transport ships. There was a defensive perimeter and of course a communications tower, but it wasn't anything fancy. They'd set it up after their retreat from Charros, the prisoners proving just a tad too difficult to control for an entire voyage. Those men and women were currently being...stabilized, and once they were more cooperative The Legion would pack up it's bags and head back to the Empire's territory.

Of course they'd been here for almost a week now, but Jedi were rather difficult to control.

A yawn escaped his throat, and slowly he began to head towards the mess-hall.
