There has never been in our nation when politics has so divided, or rather confused us as this stalking era of discontent.

As a former officer in the Confederate Armed Forces, I understood the complications of politics and why it constantly interfered in the ability of our leaders to make the right decision. The word itself has been twisted beyond comprehension. No longer does it mean the business of state, but the business of power. My political views at this time were nonextsitant. I was a solider. I agreed with the law and the law alone.

And only one person truly adjudicated the law to me, and my fellow servicemen in the Navy- the Vicelord.

By any definition, 'Darth' Metus was not to me a Sith, nor was he a child of the Emperor. He was my Commander-in-Chief. Whatever disapproval for his orders I felt were suppressed by my loyalty to this nation- the nation he built.

And honestly, I have thus far failed to break that mentality, even as a member of the Viceroyalty. I may disagree- vehemently, yet I still support my Head of State.

On that faithful night, in winded hours of debate- my vote remained NO. It was not Darth Metus who led the Confederacy- it was Isley Verd. In the end though, I couldn't bring myself to vote for or against the resoultuion.

Thankfully, my constituents approved of my decision to abstain.

Now of course the natural question remains: Who will become Vicelord?

Will the Viceroy of Ra'Katha take charge for his actions. Thyferra? Will the Lord Commander of the Knights Obsidian become Vicelord? Srina Talon? John Locke? Kiff Bryade? Truly the options here are all merited...and some aren't.

But- my faith, is in who has the faith of the people. Not the politicians.
