Perhaps the scheming of the Sith were finally starting to rub off on Diodoros, who was now making a move towards his own goals. Having been planning things out piece by piece since getting his Letter of Marque and working with the Sith. Which offered him a level of luxury and privilege that is absent for most other cosmic corsairs. Allowing him to use Sith resources and the Letter of Marque kept him much safer from mutiny from his crew. Since the contract only applied to him, so Diodoros was deposed than his successors would just become normal pirates.

Right now the Firrerreo has been hanging around the Sith’s remote enclave. Causing inconsequential harassment for EOTL trade and patrols. But that was mostly just to pass the time. What Diodoros really wanted was a ship. A capital ship for himself to greatly expand his power, and currently there was only one ship that he had his eyes on. An ancient behemoth within the Corporate Sector. The operation of which has been mothballed for generations at this point. Where it was too much of a hassle to use it, or even scrap it for parts.

The ship he had his heart set on was an Invincible-Class Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser. Which appealed to Diodoros in multiple ways. That being their massive size, and the name. Which the golden privateer thought was really cool sounding. But it also had a few practical advantages for a ship of its size. Since it was so old they were said to be quite easy to crew. The necessary crew to operate it could also be cut down dramatically through the use of droids as well. Plus its size and firepower could easily overpower and bully just about all other rival pirates they came across.
. . .

On the day that Diodoros finally set out to acquire the old dreadnought he did so with numerous light-freighters which functioned more so as improvised gunships, boarding vessels and tugs. To acquire the ones he needed he used his old contacts from Hutt Space to temporarily rent most of the vessels since he wouldn’t need them for long and didn’t want to go through the hassle of stealing them all.

The dreadnought was docked at an old station on the outskirts of the corporate sector. Looked after by a mere skeleton crew. So the actual raid experienced hardly any resistance. None of the workers and espo spoldiers were gonna risk their lives for some ancient battleship that had been functionally abandoned for many years now, but they did manage to set out an emergency broadcast which was anticipated.

Within the command center of the station that docked the dreadnought Diodoros along with some of his pirates ordered the workers to separate the vessel from the station. All the while it was getting boarded by his crew and docked with the numerous light freighters. There was an expectation that its engine wouldn’t be functional after not being used or activated for a long time or if it even had fuel. So its massive hull was being pushed and mauvered by the various light freighters that attached themselves to it. Hauling it away like a bunch of hungry little ants after slaying a mighty beetle. The Invincible-Class Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser was now in his possession. Finally achieving his goal of having his own mighty battleship.
The rock upon which he will build his church…
