On this day in 867, a terrorist attack perpetuated by the Brotherhood of the Maw struck the Imperial Capital Complex, Fortress Imperator in the New Imperial capital city of Ravelin. Several explosions erupted in the meeting area of the New Imperial High Command, resulting in several injuries and a single death.

Irveric Tavlar, Sovereign Imperator of the New Imperial Order (819-867aby) died as a result of the attack.

Imperator Tavlar was the progenitor and founder of the New Imperial Order. With a military service history tracing back to the days of the One Sith and eventually the Sith Empire, Irveric Tavlar declared open treason against the Sith Empire in 858aby, resulting in a call to arms to Nirauan of all True Imperials to join him in defiance of the Sith. What ensued was a several year bloody struggle, the Third Imperial Civil War. After several hard fought campaigns in the Braxant Run, the Stygian Caldera and the Sith Core Worlds, the New Imperial Order declared victory and the Sith Empire's systematic collapse followed. Imperator Tavlar was the supreme commander of all New Imperial and coalition forces during this time, orchestrating a great deal of the Braxant Campaign and Pentastar Offensive along with personally leading several battles from the front, on the field. While his position as head of state made him ineligible to receive any official commendations by the New Imperial Armed Forces, his merit as a leader and commander on the battlefield is echoed through the ranks in admiration and trust for his command.

His legacy is as ingrained in the Galaxy as any other and will live on as one of the great figures of the Imperial dream. Two weeks of mourning with the Iron Sun at half mast will follow the Imperator's death across New Imperial space.

Today marks a tragedy for the New Imperial Order and for all who take a stand against darkness and chaos across the Galaxy. Irveric Tavlar is succeeded in name by his twin sons Kriegan and Corvallis Tavlar.

The powers of the Sovereign Imperator are to be assumed by Lord Executor Rurik Fel in temporary emergency authorization. An announcement by Fel will be published following this communique.
