Jaemus to Receive Imperial Stragglers

Composed Q1M3D25 - 902 ABY
Jaemus Directory Archival Division

One by one, Imperial ships drop out of hyperspace in the Jaemus system. Frigates and cruisers, all scarred from recent conflict; troop carriers and sleek shuttles weighed down by haggard, exhausted passengers.
The collapse of any Empire is an apocalyptic scenario for all of its stewards - from distinguished moffs to the lowliest fuel purity inspector. Factionalism, followed by warlordism, takes hold. Institutions fragment and fail. Despite the Empire Reborn being the direct successor to the Dark Empire, the catastrophe has proceeded much the same. The southern Braxant is once again enveloped in a miasma of violence and confusion.
There is a great deal of hesitancy to follow the lead of a new Sith Lord, and not all of it is out of self-interest. The Sith have failed the Empire before, and there is little in their rhetoric to suggest any meaningful adjustments in policy.
It has become the policy of Moff Antipater to court what earnest Imperials remain, inviting them to Jaemus to have a hand in what he calls a "[...] necessary re-envisioning of the goals and methods of the Imperial project."
Disparate forces have assembled to take him up on that offer.
Of the military, elements of the 421st, 301st, and 406th legions - as well as some of the remains of their tattered support fleets - have arrived on Jaemus. These forces in particular saw intense fighting at Ithor, Coruscant, and Prakith, respectively.
The Directory likewise employed a number of well-skilled interstellar logistics specialists to safely extract discontented officials from COMFEAR, COMLIT, and other valuable administrative organizations.
Most notable among them stands Maximilien Rubix, the would-be governor of Shu-Torun had the Dark Empire not failed in its attempt to claim it. Driven from his home along with his staff of collaborators, Rubix has become a voice of dissent against any prospective Sith leadership.
He has remarked, publicly: "We are expected to just follow them trustingly into the Unknown Regions. What nonsense. How could we fare any better out there? A Sith Lord led us lockstep into this mess. I don't see how a new one could profit us any differently - especially in that uncharted hell."
Though the Directory has carefully maintained a neutral tone in matters of succession, it has also done nothing to rein in Rubix's more inflammatory remarks.
"They're just opportunists. Couldn't make it among the real Sith, so they had to come all the way here and attach themselves to us. Like a leech. It's embarrassing... For both parties, one supposes."
