On the Outer Rim, more specifically the Levant Spur, there is a Force tradition that has survived, and helped protect the former Sanctum worlds from threats, both inter- and extra-galactic. The Levant Sentries is an organization of Force users who found themselves, for better or worse, in the Levant Spur, around the time of the Gulag Plague. Basing their skills initially off of a framework similar to that of Jedi Watchman of old, or the legends of the Wardens of the Sky, these beings maintained peace and their own form of protection over the Spur.

During the years of the Gulag and the following reconnection of the galaxy, the Sentries maintained their vigil. While the generations went on, the training of a Sentry became less formalized, and more passed down word-of-mouth, and expanded upon for the teacher and the student, however several tenets remained firm.

  1. Above all else, protection is the most important
  2. The secrecy of our worlds keeps them protected
  3. Dogma should not come before the duty of a Sentry
  4. Hold to the spacer’s code, provide what one can, to those that need, and expect the same in return
  5. Always hold back the darkness.

While the Sentries are not a religious organization, their habits in the Force tend to align away from darkness for darkness’s sake and very few skills have arisen from Sith or Nightsister type teaching, however, the odd Dark Jedi skill has been cultivated so long as its been used properly.

A motley crew of hedge traditions, many Sentries have access to some of the most charismatic Force traditions and skills, without the heavy use of the dogma, and the mileage can vary. Access to Dathomiri magick is not unheard of, however the true secrets are lost to most Sentries, the same way kyber can be found in use in various forms, however not as artfully done as a Jedi.

While no two Sentries are alike, and some may take a much more martial path, or others may take a more mystic path, the majority of Sentries fall somewhere in the middle. Known for being able to operate independently, small groups have been formed to protect certain regions of the Levantine Spur.

Even with the galaxy finding connection in the recent years, the Sentries hold true to their clandestine selves that kept them and their worlds protected.
