I hope this correspondence finds you well. I am quite relieved to know that you and your staff were safely evacuated from Hapes following the tragedy. I hope that you suffered no injuries, and that your people have fared well in the aftermath of the Cluster’s destabilization. The people of the Republic are wary of the Galactic Alliance now more than ever, a sentiment that I’m sure is shared between our nations.
My people are likewise concerned about the rise of a state bearing the same flag as the old Confederacy of Independent Systems, but I am advised by trusted officials that the Confederacy you preside over is fundamentally different than the CIS who abandoned Naboo. The Royal Assembly has received your generous donation of foodstuffs and medical supplies. I want to express my deepest gratitude for your support of the Republic. Already, our humanitarian staff are working with the Foundation to distribute these supplies to those affected by the recent attacks against our people.
The Republic may not soon forget the actions of your namesake, but the Royal Assembly has farther sight than the citizenry. The Southern Systems is expansive, but it is finite. Cooperation is key to avoid infighting. To the galactic west, a Sith iron curtain shifts inward day by day; to the north, we are boxed by the GA’s colony worlds. Soon enough, our borders will meet – I do not need to convince you how important it is that they meet with olive branches instead of bayonets.
We may yet need another soon.
There is much to discuss. I would like to invite you to a political summit to be held on Naboo between the Royal Republic, the Foundation, and our allies. If you’d accept, we would be delighted to see the Confederacy represented here as well.
