The Veritas – Those Who See
Who Are the Veritas?

The Veritas are not an order, a doctrine, or a tradition. They are simply those who have awakened to the Truth—the realization that the Force, as most understand it, is an illusion shaped by the will of the Celestials and the collective unconscious of the galaxy. They do not wield the Force as a tool, nor do they submit to its balance. Instead, they impose their will directly upon reality, expecting it to conform, not through struggle, but through certainty.

However, this does not make them omnipotent. A Veritas does not exist outside of reality's constraints—they exist in constant conflict with the collective will of existence itself. Their power is not a blank check to rewrite the universe; it is a contest, a battle of perception. Those who possess strong enough conviction, superior skill, or greater willpower can resist them, counter them, and even defeat them.

A Veritas is not inherently stronger than another Sith or Jedi, nor are they immune to loss. They are a different way of understanding power, and they are dangerous because of how alien that understanding is.

What Do the Veritas Believe?
The Veritas do not preach—there is no doctrine to follow. But those who have become Veritas share a common understanding:

  1. The Force is not a current, nor a power to wield—it is an illusion that responds to belief.
    • The Force exists as it does because people expect it to behave that way.
    • The Jedi and Sith struggle with an illusion, believing themselves bound by its rules.
    • The Veritas do not ask the Force for power—they expect reality to obey them.
  2. Reality is a contested space—a battle of wills between all who exist.
    • The Veritas do not simply reshape the world as they see fit; they must contend with the will of others.
    • The galaxy has inertia, shaped by the expectations of all beings who exist.
    • The strongest wills can resist the Veritas—warriors, Force users, and even non-Force users who possess absolute internal certainty.
  3. The Celestials imposed order upon the Force—and the greatest heresy is to see beyond their design.
    • The Veritas are heretics of the highest order, having realized that the Force itself was structured by ancient beings.
    • Some Veritas seek to break these hidden chains.
    • Others seek to define their own version of reality, ensuring that their vision is the one that prevails.
  4. Power is not something you take—it is something you impose.
    • Where Sith seek to dominate, and Jedi seek to align with the Force, the Veritas do neither.
    • They do not struggle, they do not fight for control—they expect reality to conform.
    • If their will is greater than their opponent's, it does.
    • If their will is weaker, they fail.

What Can the Veritas Do?
The Veritas are not all-powerful, but they bend reality through sheer certainty. Their most terrifying abilities include:

  • Effortless Reality Bending – Instead of channeling the Force, they simply expect things to happen. A Veritas does not reach for an object with telekinesis—it is simply already in their hand.
  • Absolute Dominion – Their words carry weight. To those who are weak of will, their commands feel inevitable. If a Veritas says, "You will kneel," then you will kneel.
  • Existential Erasure – The greatest of their kind can unmake something from existence, but only if there is no opposing will strong enough to resist.
  • Perceptual Warping – They can cause others to perceive things differently, making an enemy forget they were ever in battle or shifting memories without deception—simply by expecting reality to be different.
  • Temporal Stagnation – Some Veritas exist at the edges of time, acting in ways that seem impossible—appearing where they should not, leaving before anyone realizes they were there.
However, all of these abilities are resisted by those who possess greater certainty.

What Are Their Weaknesses?
The Veritas are not invincible, nor do they override the will of others without effort.

  1. They Can Be Defeated by Internal Certainty
    • A Jedi, Sith, or warrior with absolute belief in themselves can resist a Veritas.
    • A duelist who is simply more skilled can still defeat them in combat, because they internally know they can win.
    • If a Veritas tries to impose their skill, but their opponent has lived that skill through experience, the opponent will still win.
  2. They Do Not Enhance Themselves Internally
    • They do not empower themselves like Jedi or Sith.
    • A Sith can make themselves stronger, faster, more resilient—a Veritas must rely on their expectation of power, which can be countered.
  3. They Are Vulnerable to Rapid, Unpredictable Action
    • If a warrior acts before a Veritas can impose their will, they may land a fatal strike.
    • If a situation unfolds outside of their perception, their expectation may fail to shape reality in time.
  4. They Are Not United
    • The Veritas do not work together. They are competitors of perception.
    • If two Veritas disagree on the nature of reality, they are locked in a battle of will, and only one can be correct.

How Are the Veritas Perceived?
By the Sith
Heretics and Abominations
  • The Sith Empire fears them—they are unnatural, heretical, and outside the Sith paradigm of struggle.
  • Veritas are considered monsters, and are ostracized from many Sith organizations.
  • Still, some exist publicly within the Sith Order. Some still, do so in secret.
By the JediMonsters Worse Than the Sith
  • The Jedi understand Sith rage and ambition, but they do not understand the Veritas.
  • A Sith fights for power, a Jedi fights for balance—but a Veritas simply is, and this violates the Jedi understanding of the Force.
  • Some Jedi believe the Veritas are so dangerous that their very existence is a threat to reality itself.
By the Galaxy at LargeA Myth, A Horror, or a God
  • Most do not know they exist.
  • Some who have seen them believe they encountered a god.
  • Some see them as nightmares, beings that erase people from history.
  • The few who truly understand them fear that if too many Veritas emerge, the very laws of the Force may collapse.

Final Truth: What Do the Veritas Mean?
The Veritas are not omnipotent, nor are they beyond defeat. They are a different way of interacting with the Force, one that bends reality not through struggle, but through will alone. However, their will is not absolute—they must contend with the wills of others, the weight of history, and the inertia of reality itself.

Some Veritas seek to reshape the galaxy. Others seek to understand it. A few withdraw from it entirely.

But all Veritas know one thing:

Reality is a lie, and only those strong enough to impose their truth will shape what comes next.

List of Known Veritas:

Before anyone gets too upset about this, it is simply an extension of the lore that is already written or unwritten within Sith Eternalism and how it relates to the Force and the Galaxy as a whole. In no way does being a Veritas actually mean anything beyond how a character might approach the Force or their goals. A Veritas is not able to god mod your character, your npcs, or your ships without your direct consent. This is entirely flavor text, and in all actionable ways they do not differentiate themselves from any other character on the board.

Where a Veritas might 'erase' something, someone else could just kill them.
Where a Veritas might 'change' something, someone else could just do it themselves.
Where a Veritas might 'create' something, someone else would just create something.

A Veritas is not inherently better at killing, changing, or creating anything. A Veritas is not the sudden realization that they can do everything on the same level as someone else. A character who has perfected the art of alchemy or technology is not going to be outdone by a Veritas who imposes their will to create something. A Veritas is limited by their experience, just the same as all others. The only difference is the flavor around how they go about doing things.

They don't use Force Lightning, they just will lightning to exist. Its the same thing, just written differently. They don't use the Hate Stare power Sith have, they just look at people and they die (same canon power, don't get mad at how I just said that, no the Veritas can't look you into death anymore than a normal Sith can.)
