Silver Rest, Kashyyyk
The Concord had maintained media silence since their most recent losses against the Bryn'adûl. They needed to employ tactfulness when addressing the people they served, who relied on them for protection and some of whom they had failed. The loss of worlds to their enemies had been a devastating blow and the faith in the Jedi had begun wavering on their border. They aimed to uphold the faith people had put in them and so sought to strengthen relations with their neighbours and once historic friends - the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
At the Silver Rest, daylight was dawning and the temple was slowly beginning to wake to life from its slumber. The Jedi Master stood in the courtyard, at the podium, gathering herself to address the eagerly awaiting journalists and Concord's citizens and beyond in what was set to be a historic moment.
"Citizens of the galaxy, The Concord recognises the undercurrent of fear and uncertainty across our corner of the galaxy but rest assured that any who reside within our borders will be granted protection from the conquest of the Bryn'adûl as we work to liberate your home and restore it to its former glory.
We speak to you today not to deliver a message of fear but rather one of hope. Let it be of assurance that we are not alone in our endeavours. The galaxy is listening.
For too long we have focused on broken bonds and neglected historic bonds, In doing so we have left our friends in the shadows. We have failed to remember our neighbours who have stood beside us for years and whose home we share in the same galaxy.
Now, we must rekindle our relationship for the greater good of the galaxy. From this day, we are extending a hand in friendship towards the Confederacy of Independent Systems in the form of an alliance. We will weather this storm - together."
The Concord needed to be way of how they conducted themselves on the intergalactic stage. They wanted their citizens to keep the faith, to trust in them. Now, there was hope that news of the alliance would boost morale and that the assurance of protection from their neighbours would help turn the tide of the war in their favour.
