JAEMUS, OUTER RIM TERRITORIES

Sularen gazed upon the world of Jaemus from within the bridge of the INV Tyuk, which remained in position above the planet surrounded by a small fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers. For the past few days, the newly appointed Lord-Regent of the Empire had been working hard to revitalize the Empire, establishing the foundations from which his Jaemus Initiative would be built upon which would test how well the Empire could truly operate in the face of their new enemy to the North.

More importantly, Sularen had to also deal with the expectations that came with being the Lord-Regent as certain members of the Ruling Council were skeptical of his abilities as both a military commander and a political figure. If he was to reassure them of his capabilities then his Jaemus Initiative would be the best way to do so, to not only test how well the Empire could still operate in an offensive capacity against its enemies but to also test Sularen’s own ability to lead the Empire as it’s new head of state.

As Sularen dwelled on his thoughts surrounding the weight of his responsibilities and his future plans, Colonel Rackham entered the bridge with datapad in his hand as per usual, soon approaching the Lord-Regent. “Lord-Regent, sir.” he said, alerting Sularen of his presence while also seeking to speak to him. “Yes Colonel? Do you have something for me?” Sularen responded. “Yes, sir. I’ve come to report that the process of staffing Fort Comark has been finished and the base has been fully equipped.” the Colonel proclaimed, reporting on the latest progress from Jaemus.

Then our mission here is complete. What’s next on the agenda, Colonel?” Sularen asked, eager to move on to the next matter that required his full attention. “Our Forces are ready for the Invasion of Scipio as you requested, although we have recently received a request from Governor Rubix of Shu-Torun.” Rackham explained. “Since our initial efforts to crush the resistance have stalled, the rebel Ore-Dukes have entrenched themselves preventing us from gaining full control of the planet and unrestricted access to it's raw materials. In addition due to the persistence of the resistance there is now a growing risk of a potential Alliance intervention, especially given their recent actions on Iridonia.

So I'm assuming Governor Rubix wants additional resources to crush the rebellion?” Sularen inquired again. “Yes, Lord-Regent.” Rackham responded. Another intervention on Shu-Torun would considerably delay Sularen’s plans for the Jaemus Initiative, and worst of all buy the Diarchy more time to pursue their expansion into the Gree Enclave before turning their sights on Jaemus. However at the same time, leaving Shu-Torun unattended meant leaving it vulnerable to the Alliance, and after the significant investment the Empire had already made to secure its loyalty, such a loss could not be afforded. The toll of a two-front war, Sularen thought to himself as he dwelled on the matter. If the Empire was to survive this incoming crisis then it needed to act quickly and swiftly to secure its future and ensure its longevity, and while Sularen did not want to delay his Jaemus Initiative, it was a necessary action to ensure that the Empire's long-term plans were achieved.

Very well then. Governor Rubix will have his reinforcements, and I personally will lead the Imperial intervention on Shu-Torun.” Sularen proclaimed. “Let us get rid of the rebels on Shu-Torun once and for all, so that we may then turn our full focus on the Jaemus Initiative” he added. “Set course for Shu-Torun at once. I want to be back at Carlac by the end of the week.” the Lord-Regent ordered.

Soon enough, Sularen’s Fleet began to move away from Carlac before eventually jumping into hyperspace headed for Shu-Torun ready to put an end to the rebel Ore-Dukes resistance and secure the mining world once and for all.
