On an ordinary evening, Ko had decided to spice things up within his dorm at the New Jedi Temple. The teenage Kel Dor was determined to spend at least one day in the year more comfortable in his home away from home. Having gotten his hands on a special delivery earlier in the week.
With a bit of prep work, Ko had readied his dorm, getting some tape to seal off the cracks within it. Around the door, AC vents and window. Was it reckless for him to cut off ventilation into his room? Yes. But he was determined and didn’t think anyone would notice and what he was doing wouldn’t be harmful to anyone else. After Which he got a hold of his special delivery from Dorin. Some canisters of genuine Dorin Gas from his homeworld.
Rather giddy with excitement Ko opened one of the canisters in his room, quickly filling much of it with the life-giving air of his people. Once it was stable and he got all the icky oxygen out, Ko finally removed his breath mask and goggles before he was able to take a nice deep breath that reminded him of home. It was rather nice for him to be able to shed himself of the antiox breath mask that was necessary for him off Dorin.
Although it wasn’t that unforgettable, wearing it day in and day out for weeks, months, and years on end was quite the hassle. He had a variety of the masks so that he didn’t need to clean them all the time.
But unfortunately Ko’s comfort was short lived as alarms started to screech in his dorm and soon to the rest of the alarms around his dorm in the New Jedi Temple. Even though there was no fire, the alarms detected the strange unique gas and severe lack of oxygen. Warning part of the large building of the possible hazard.
Being filled with the sudden sense of dread and embarrassment of what might happen if his superiors found out what he was doing, Ko quickly tried to remedy the situation in his room. Dawning his antiox mask once more and frantically tried to remove the tape around the window to air out his dorm. But it was too little too late. Concerned Jedi superiors quickly got his door open and allowed the foggy recreation of his homeworld to escape from his dorm and into the wider area around it.
Fortunately the Dorin gas was non toxic to other species, what made Dorin so inhospitable was instead the lack of essential gasses for a type one breathable atmosphere. What followed was a rather stern verbal chastising of Ko having caused concern and worry within the temple that there was a serious emergency. The situation made all the more comedic from the high level of helium in the air giving all those around with ridiculously high pitched voices despite the valid and serious concerns being expressed.
