| 'Nameless' Research Facility Gamma
| Tuangsday morning, 0917 approx.
Two large vats of bacta glowed an ominous green. The procedure was taxing on the subjects. Constant healing was mandatory. Even with that, they could only be used as part of the experiments for the better part of half an hour.
Achan had arrived at the facility in time for the next demonstration. Being in this 'Netherworld' was something for which he had not been prepared. It's complete upside down nature to the real universe was unsettling.
The Unblessed had discovered a tear in the heart of the Netherworld while investigating the increased numbers of Nameless creatures inhabiting the Chaos-universe. The tear seemed to be the origin point from which these Nameless were spreading. The scientists working here had given preliminary findings that there was something much bigger on the other side.
"Aren't we already in...another dimension?" Achan said, casting a glance over his shoulder to the masked-up scientist.
"There are more than two. It makes sense if this one intersects with ours...that others might intersect with it."
He nodded. It made sense. Though thinking of how many such incidents were just waiting to happen.
"Prepare the emitter."
Achan stepped back into place. Hands folded behind his back as he watched through the required dark-lensed goggles. He glanced at the two young Force sensitives in their pools of bacta. As the dials and lights of the device began to come to life, he witnessed the struggle that the Force Sensitives underwent. It was visceral. A darkness rose to the surface of their skin, inking each vein that ran beneath the surface. Their eyes grew wide in shock. The bacta muffled their wails.
Achan's stomach churned. This was wrong.
The emitter vibrated above the research station. It sent unsettling shockwaves through even Achan's being. He watched the screens. Hoardes of Nameless creatures appeared in the distance. Each of them running at full speed towards the station.
"Activate security measures. Turn off the emitter."
Achan felt relieved the moment the emitter was deactivated. He watched the blips representing the Nameless be extinguished one by one. None made it within one hundred yards of the facility.
"This will assist in us opening the tear further?" He said to the scientist.
"It is not always so effective...that was perhaps the second best activation we have seen. Usually we have to have the emitter on for at least 20 minutes to get that result," came the reply.
Achan shot a disconcerted glance at the subjects.
"They are young. They heal quickly," came the dispassionate reply.
"The tear?" He said, ignoring the hollowing of his gut.
"The emitter will not open the tear. It may make whatever is on the other side...more eager to push through."
Achan stood there for a time, considering the ramifications of all that was transpiring. If this being were truly what they thought it could be, it could be the final answer to the plague known as the Force that ravaged their own universe. Nothing could stand in the way of this goal.
"Keep up the good work, doctor."
