I love the Padawan to Master story, personally. But it's nice to be able to pick up and go as a newly minted Knight. Either are valid and I'll be more than happy to help you get into some stories and write cool stuff either way to help familiarize you with the site.

it can be fun going from padawan to master, Saki did it and it shaped her a whole lot.

if nothing else I am always around and up for posting so could stick around. though saki doesn't like taking padawans but I have other jedi masters.
