OOC NOTE: This submission does not permit the user to call damage or hits on those taking damage from this Slug. That, as always, remains in the hands of the party taking the damage from the acidic slug.

With the Golden Company taking centre stage and coming face to face with a more diverse portfolio of hostiles, they needed an effective tool to remain on top - whenever they encountered a difficult enemy. To this end, the Guild of Armourers had contracted the Interstellar Thorilide Guild to purchase several canisters of their Xenoboric Acid which was utilized to refine the crystalline substance known as Thorilide - a shock absorber for various models of turbolaser cannons throughout the galaxy. Thus, with such a highly toxic and corrosive compound in abundance, it was only a matter of making a payment and signing a resupplyment contract to acquire the chemicals needed.
As they obtained the deadly xenoboric acid, the Golden Company looked into their pillaged archives and found a reference to an ancient slugthrower known as the KD-30 Dissuader, which apparently used a borless acid impregnated into kinetic projectiles. Which, were speculated to dissolve armour, flesh and bone - though it’s unclear what type of acid was used within those hollow bullets. Thus, taking what they had learned from the past and applying it to the present, the Sun Guard’s were able to safely extract the acid from their containers and, impregnate the hollowed out cores of a standard 10mm slug.
This process, while the abundance of chemicals would permit the bullets to be easily mass-produced, was an extremely dangerous process that resulted in two of the Sun Guard’s losing fingers, and limbs to perfect the means of production.
Once they had the process down to a science, the Golden Company began putting the kinetic projectile through rigorous test trials in order to ascertain its efficacy against a multitude of armour types and materials that were used throughout the galaxy. While the results of the trials were widespread, the Sun Guard’s were able to categorize several outcomes into five groupings. The first, and most prominent of these groups were the results that came from the slug being deployed against organic material. Due to the highly toxic nature of the Xenoboric acid, it affected the living tissue in two ways. Direct contact with the acidic compound began dissolving flesh almost instantaneously, which would continue breaking the covalent bonds until the aqueous solution was neutralized. With the acid being applied in a kinetic manner, there was an ever-present danger of the solution switching from an aqueous state to that of a gas.
This resulted in having the same effects as it would in an aqueous form, provided the organic material endured prolonged exposure.
From the applications against the organic material, the Sun Guard then began deploying the rounds against increasingly heavier materials and combat armour. Their trials had revealed that the lighter and less dense the material was, the easier it was for the Xenoboric acid to dissolve the molecular bonds keeping the various materials intact. Thus, by that extension, allowed the acid-filled slugs to proverbial chew through the heaviest armour in minutes. Naturally, the time for dissolution varied from material to material, and its overall molecular density. This also proved to be a weakness, as the acid was a fickle mistress and would dissolve anything it had come into contact with when activated. So, if the glass vials within the slugs had somehow cracked, or were crushed prematurely through various means, it would begin to dissolve whatever it was that it touched - be it the magazine or the Sun Guard that bore the acid-filled slugs into battle.
With the Xenoboric Slugs, the Golden Company would establish itself as one of the most infamous Mercenary Outfits ever to populate the Galaxy...
Modification Summary:- Added Thyrsian post breaker, and altered originally posted template to bring it into line with modern submissions.
- Raised Production from Limited to Mass-Production. (Justification: Not enough Acid in a single bullet to melt a person, and the Acid has widespread use in Turbolaser manufacturing.)
- Added Thyrsian Hierarchy to Affiliation slot.
- Updated Submission to 5.1 Standards (Modified Basic Template with Consumable Fields.)
- Updated wording in the Effectiveness Field to be grammatically correct.
- Updated Material Hyperlinks.
- Turns out Ordnance was a thing. RIP.
