1000 ways how not to make a light-bulb

"What's the Effect at the end of Underestimation?"
Iziz had been tossing and turning over the chance for this experiment,

With his ship docked with the Wingtip, he and his newly appointed ally had moved to attempt the fusion of Ysalamiri which would be grafted to the material they were hoping to fuse into something larger and something many times grander. Ysalamir were hard to come by, the eggs he had taken had long since hatched and grown into well sized Ysalamir in the time it had taken for him to find a shaper like Yun who would be able to handle his case. Being in proximity of his ship at the moment completely suppressed the force powers of Iziz, pushing the spirit within him back into the deepest folds of his mind and soul. It was a peace that he could afford, though he knew it was something that would not last... soon the Ysalamir aside from his pet would be gone, and there would be nothing more to protect him on this particular plane.

No time like the present...

Iziz thought to himself as he ferried in two of the creatures form his ship, each of them hanging off him, digging their claws into his leather clothing with hooks which would quite happily rip into and through tree bark to the point they could not be removed... the creatures were brutal, though there was one of the party which was not intended for the development of the material, marked over his body with blue Wod like markings which identified him clearly, the male Ysalamir had been trained to follow Iziz and eat with him, for all intents and purposes, the nearly two foot long lizard had become a pet for the boy, and a means to escape the menace of the being inside him, much to its chagrin. Much like the use of a seizure dog, the Ysalamir was able to sense the threatening force within him and protect Iziz with its bubble in order to keep his mind to himself...

though not 'always' welcome.

"I bought the materials with me, These two are two of the larger ones, I think they should have enough mass to be able to work with, if mass is an issue, I don't know... sorry, I've never been told much about... shaping."

Iziz spoke with nervous tones, looking around him at the minageree of creatures which accompanied the living vessel, which he knew he would be finding remnants of in his ship for weeks to come after this was said and done...

"Just tell me if i need to do anything."

The Jawa spoke hopefully, swallowing his saliva in a nervous gulp as the first attempt to create true Miriskin would begin.

The void made it easy to work. Hanging still in the vacuum, the Wingtip looked lifeless. Yun sat before a workbench in what was once the ship's medical bay. By now, the Wingtip was more organic than machine, the inner plating almost entirely replaced with vast sections of bright coral, skittering creatures clacking back and forth in their creches, tending to the young. Shaper tendrils slithered across unfinished works, probing gently at them and moving each piece carefully out of the way. The ascent from Vullain was smooth, and though Yun was still recovering from his injuries, he was capable of working on the Jawa's request. The Vong owed the Sith his life, and an opportunity to repay at least some of that debt would be met with diligent work.

To his right, Iziz entered the room with several creatures in tow. Orange lizards not dissimilar to those Yun raised himself caught his eye. Yun nodded slowly at the Jawa's words, reaching out with his Shaper hand to clutch one of the reptiles by its head before placing it on the table, underbelly exposed to his prying observation. Such a fascinating creature it was, laid bare before him to study. Rare beings like these needed to be treated with absolute care, one misstep and the pair would be off hunting for more subjects, a detour that would no doubt become tedious. Cautiously, Yun plucked at its legs and claws, turning its limbs back and forth before gripping at its jaw, wresting its teeth apart and peering closely at them. He turned to Iziz then, and spoke.

"You would do well to remember the precepts of Shaping. In this discipline, we deal with living beings. I am not an engineer, clumsily wiring together soulless automatons. I Shape life, and life must be nurtured. Where machines are created in a factory, my creations are raised in cradles. To Shape life is slow, gentle and respectful."

"Tell me, Iziz," His words, soft and cold "About the being you wish to create,"

Pinning the lizard by its neck, Yun's digits caressed its scales, sharp instruments emerging from the tentacles, the tools necessary for Shaping. A thin scalpel wedged itself beneath a single scale, plucking it free. Releasing the lizard, Yun allowed it to escape the table and crawl beneath a bed on the other side of the room. He brought the scale to his face, examining it closely, taking note of the patterns and composition of the creature's outermost layer. Slowly, he was determined to peel away the mysteries of this being, and harness its tools for his own.

Iziz thought about the words he was going to say before he spoke.

"I... think I understand, I'd like to... grow... a being which would bond with the force resistant material that i have prepared here, like a tough leather, something lose and light compared to crab armour but which retained the ability of the lizards you're using, in order to protect, but not limit me... The ysalamir have the ability to stop others from projecting the force through the bubbles that they create, it's a powerful ability and one which I would like to make use of, however, they cannot use the ability if they are dead. Perhaps reducing the power from something associating with their skin, like tutaminis, the power for a being to absorb energy."

Iziz spoke carefully, trying to avoid using terms like build or engineer in fear of his angering the vong shaper, Iziz had never seen the art before, the closest thing he could think of when it came to the art of shaping life was what the Sith used with their alchemy, mad science which bound beings together with the use of blood and the dark side to create entities of great power, and also specific purpose. Iziz hoped that the vong were capable of similar such things. From what he had seen from Yun alone it seemed that his menagerie alone was varied enough that he was creating each of them for specific purpose, but he was certain that manipulating the nature of the force through his constructions would be something vastly more difficult to achieve should it be attempted. They were trying to limit the power of a creature who wielded it, but that could be as simple as re-wiring their brain, associating their protective bubble with protecting their skin.

"I'd like the creature to replicate the function of a cloak, covering my body so i could benefit from its protection, but also not be overly hampered by it either. If you understand"

Iziz had no idea if the Vong would be able to accomplish the task, in truth, he knew very little about Yun personally, he had simply jumped at the first opportunity available to be able to aquire what he wished from the man fate had dropped into the Jawa's lap.

Iziz wasn't one to decline fate.
