Description: After the fall of the One Sith, Sig Avenir followed much of his One Sith brethren to the newer rising imperial faction in the Outer Rim, the First Order. Having prior experience as a commando serving in conflicts such as that on Togoria, Avenir's leadership potential was recognized and he was placed in charge of a small military police unit comprised of fellow former One Sith military personnel. This was to ensure loyalty to the First Order, placing them under command of a familiar face who has been screened and approved by higher echelons within the First Order.
The 12th MP Detachment is tasked with routine law enforcement operations, chiefly regarding that of the cultural preservation of the First Order. Though holding little jurisdiction over civilians, the 12th MP Detachment, as well as other military police units in the First Order military, have complete and utter authority over anyone that falls under the umbrella of the Defense Ministry, regardless of rank, title, or position. Their commanding officer, Lieutenant Sig Avenir, has made it his mission to weed out corrupt military officers as well as enforce military and defense ministry regulations.
In an imperial and authoritarian state, lines can quickly become obscured as far as the justice system is concerned. This often leaves the men and women of the 12th MP to interpret wrongdoing on their own, overseen by a adjunct provost to help keep the enforcers in check, as well as prosecute those who've been arrested by the military authorities. The 12th MP also boasts a small support staff to assist in the administrative upkeep, management, and dispatch of military policemen.
Keen on seeing senior officers held accountable for their actions, they may often find a target on their back thanks to the directive of their commanding officer. One thing remains certain though - with the 12th MP on scene, the streets of the First Order are a lot cleaner.
