STRENGTHS:
  • The Secret to Surviving is Knowin' What to Throw Away and Knowin' What to Keep: Triple-Mode System allows for three settings: Standard, Haste, and Combat Modes. This allows the ship’s power settings to various systems to be changed depending on the situation at hand, giving the option for extreme speed and maneuverability at the cost of armament and reduced shield power levels or else brings the ship’s armament online and decreases speed and maneuverability slightly for combat situations. Standard Mode serves as the default setting, in which armament is brought offline, while shields, maneuverability, and speed retain very high functionality.
WEAKNESSES:
  • You Gotta Know When to Hold ‘Em, Know When to Fold ‘Em: Toggling between Standard, Haste, and Combat Modes requires several seconds to change over, during which the affected ship’s systems recalibrate due to power redistribution, leaving the ship with diminished functionality for those systems and leaving it briefly vulnerable to enemy attacks or other threats. Under no circumstances can various systems operate at different levels beyond those enumerated in each mode setting, e.g. you can’t ‘magically’ bring weapons online while in Haste or Standard Mode, nor achieve extreme speeds in Standard or Combat Mode, etc.
  • Know When to Walk Away: Due to various advanced and proprietary systems used aboard ship, serious damage may require specialized replacement parts or materials and the necessary availability of trained technicians and/or dedicated facilities to make repairs, making field repairs difficult, time-consuming, and potentially impossible given the nature and severity of damage incurred. To try to push on when the ship is seriously disabled is to invite potential disaster.
  • Know When to Run: While the ship has a ‘Combat Mode’ available, this was not its chief intent and it is poorly-suited to prolonged or intense battle situations, lacking the armaments necessary to be very effective against anything more than small craft or starfighters. Rather this mode exists for the purpose of engaging in low-scale hostilities or breaking contact altogether to allow it to depart rather than face further danger. In most cases, it was intended that it should rely on its speed, stealth, and maneuverability rather than offensive weaponry.
