+ High Level of Training and Gear: The Antarian Rangers, paramilitary forces affiliated with the SJO, have always work with the idea of a small well trained and equipped military to achieve their gains and the Marines follow this ideal very closely,[SIZE=9pt] equipping themselves with the very best gear that the Silver Jedi can provide and train constantly to keep themselves on the edge.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]+ Focused on Space and Space Station/Starship Combat: Unlike the majority of ground [/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]forces the Marines focus their training on assaulting and defending starships and starbases. Their training gives them a distinct advantage in the narrow passages and confines of this environment as they are more practiced[/SIZE][SIZE=9pt] at dealing with narrow spaces, chokepoint and sharp corners when compared to standard units.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Weaknesses[/SIZE]
- Limited Unit Size:[SIZE=9pt] The Marines are an assault strike force built around a core of members who had found themselves in this situation before. While well trained and geared they don’t come with a large team, numbering only 20. When faced with a large number of opponents or heavy resistance it is easy for the Marine Assault team to be overwhelmed.[/SIZE]
- Lack of Heavy Support Weapons:[SIZE=9pt] With a [/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]focus on fast movement and close range striking power the Assault team lacks any significant heavy weapons to support them. This is mostly by[/SIZE][SIZE=9pt] design, heavy weapons have a very limited use within a starship for fear that they would cause critical damage where it was not required.[/SIZE]
- Of Extremely Limited Use in a Large Scale Ground Conflict:[SIZE=9pt] Due to the small size of the unit and their lack of heavy or specialized equipment the Marines are not a frontline combat unit and have no use in a large [/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]ground-based offensive despite their advanced training and the high level of their gear. The one use they do have is a quick strike at an enemy base, but without significant backup[/SIZE][SIZE=9pt], this would only be a hit and run style attack.[/SIZE]
Description:
[SIZE=9pt]During the Silver Jedi Order’s battle for Torin Station Padawan Asaraa Vaashe found herself approaching the station with a team of Antarian Ranger’s aboard their assault craft. Although the craft was shot down the team managed to survive and started deeper into the station to push towards their objectives. By combining the Jedi’s ability to sense opponent’s with the Ranger’s gear and training the small force was able to effectively deal with enemy formation, either by floating concussion grenades into their positions or circumventing them entirely. Although the assault itself ended with the Trooper’s being forced to run as a Dark Jedi Knight engaged the squad while Asaraa held her off the concept had been planted. Catching up with the Trooper’s after the mission Asaraa shared the idea with them and then the higher-ups in the Ranger’s Command Structure. A small team of highly capable Ranger’s trained to work with a Jedi as a fast strike force able to move fast and hit hard to assault enemy starships and stations, able to strike before the enemy even knew that they were there and before they were ready for them. The [/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]Anatarian[/SIZE][SIZE=9pt] Marines had been formed. [/SIZE]
