It is their profession and many of them have seen more than they can talk about or want to remember. - Combat Function:
- Armored Spearhead: The 1st Armored Division is a major formation with the task to break through enemy lines. Utilizing a mobile version of the Stormwar, their combined arms of fast moving, well coordinated tanks, swiftly deploying artillery and air recon as well as close air support are the core of every large scale conquest or operation.
- Steel Scissor: The Tank Regiments of the 1st Armored are extremely capable, only the most skilled drivers and gunners make it into their ranks. The commander says, "only a driver which can smell a mine from hundred meters and who knows exactly what the tank can do, will make it into our division". They have perfected a manoeuvre which is called "Steel Scissors" and they apply it in any terrain. A line of tank attacks the enemy line, at high speed moving forward all the while the guns blazing and breaks through the enemy line. Meanwhile a second line forms up where the first started and once the first line moved as far forward as they can, they turn on the spot and both lines attack the enemy line again, now from front an rear. At high speed this action can result in friendly tanks passing each other with extreme high speeds and only centimeters between them.
- Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A
- Tanks: Tanks are the unchallenged masters of mobile warfare and capable of delivering fast, well organised blows to the enemy.
- Iron and Thunder: The 1st Armored is capable of delivering extraordinary fire support and the has the toughness to hold the line against enemy onslaughts.
- Experienced: After many campaigns the 1st Armored has accumulated a lot of experience and veteran crews who serve with extreme discipline and skill.
- Replenishment: Equipment is less of an issue for the Eternal Empire, manpower is, especially experienced tank crews.
- Stealth: This is an Armored Division, so please.
- Death from Above: Formations of tanks when in marching order or idle are easy targets for airstrikes or even orbital strikes from starships.
The 1st Armored Division was formed several years ago as part of a restructuring of the mobile fighting forces of the Eternal Army. They are both a distinguished as well as solid formation within the armed forces, serving at the front of most wars and fiercely devoted to the cause of the Empire, as all soldiers are.
The Thunder Corps only selects capable drivers and those with a good grasp of basic mathematics for the service in their artillery or armored units, therefore the average Ultranaut here is both educated and has a certain amount of imagination, allowing the units to function as best as possible. A trait especially necessary for those that have to make decisions in mere seconds, that have to be able to calculate distances or trajectories on the fly.
The 1st Armored has a very close relationship to the 3rd Starfighter Fleet, the two are known to work very closely even with competition among the individual elements as the one is delivering the air support, the other pushing on the ground. It is a supreme example of the excellent mechanism of the Stormwar doctrine.
