GENERAL INFORMATION
- Unit Name: Children of Moridinae, 2208th Battalion
- Affiliation: Sith Empire
- Classification: Jump Infantry, Rapid Assault Battalion
- Description: Pulled from those children that were not slain when the vast majority of the population of Mandalore was slaughtered, the Children of Moridinae are the brainchild of Grand Moff Lirka Ka as the final stroke of spite against those Mandalorians whom still wish to fight against the Empire. Taken into the dark depths of the Sephi’s holdings within the Imperial Borderlands, they are all psycho-conditioned for all but absolute loyalty to the Empire, and unbeknownst to all, Lirka herself. Making a grim parody of stereotypical Mandalorian tactics the Children of Moridinae are up-close-and-personal fighters making extensive use of gunships and jet-packs for maximum mobility.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
- Unit Size: Medium
- Unit Availability: Rare
- Unit Experience: Trained
- Equipment:
- Sith-Imperial Legionnaire Armor Mark III
- Sith-Imperial MAAG (preferred mode of deployment)
- Jetpacks
- Combat Function: The 2208th very much focuses on shock and awe tactics, arriving in full force with their Gunships unloading ordinance before dropping from the skies with their Jet-Packs and engaging in close-ranged to mid-ranged fighting, generally eschewing most heavier infantry-scale weapons and leaving such firepower to their gunships. As much as being the heralds of Lirka Ka herself when the Grand Moff wishes to enter the field of battle.
Strengths:
Residual Training
With the people of Mandalore training their youth at a young age, many of these new conscripts that were forced into becoming the 2208th already held combat training before becoming soldiers. All the more capable of emulating the fighting style of their people.
Unflinching Loyalty
The psycho-conditioning of the 2208th is so absolute that they will follow near any command without a question asked, no matter how grim of an atrocity it may be: it would take deep focus and care on their warped minds to reverse its effects.
Weaknesses:
A Rare Stock
Being pulled exclusively of those youths spared from the Mandalorian Genocide, the ability to replace those within the Children of Moridinae is very much working with a fintie resource: to add salt into that wound, the vast majority of those pulled from the planet are of unsuitable age for frontline combat and instead are being given more training.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The fires of Moridinae birthed many things, and as those whom once called it home were crushed under the boot of the slaughterer Lirka Ka, their children wrenched from their hands and taken down into the dark depths of the Fortress Imperious to be reborn, to be crafted and formed into the soldiers the Empire needed, but more than that they were to be the final and ultimate stroke of spite Lirka would give to the failed Mandalorian warriors whom had tried to reclaim their home: the very children of their cultural and homeworld turned against them.
Within the sunless halls, the children underwent deep psycho conditioning to make them unflinchingly loyal to the Empire, more than willing to give their lives to the cause with but a single word. But Lirka is a selfish woman, insidious in her intents of power and dominance: slowly trinkled into their unflinching loyalty to the Empire was something, an absolute loyalty to Lirka’s commands. Giving the Sephi a Legion asset that she can “suggest” deployments to at any time, with all but no chance of being refused. And a bout of chaos that could be stirred were she ever to be ousted from the Empire.
Engaging in a dark parody of Mandalorian warfare involving Kom’rk Fighters by using modified Sith-Imperial MAAGs, the Children of Moridinae equip themselves with Jetpacks before deploying out of modified troop-bays in the backs of their gunships, though unfortunately the lack of suitable aged soldiers became abundant and forced the Children of Moridinae to become a mere Battalion rather than any sort of large scale military force: the vast majority of their rank being too young, and years off, before being suited in their modified Imperial-Legionnaire armor, nothing more than visual mods so as to make them appear more Mandalorian in appearance. Another additional bit of salt added to the wound by the dear Grand Moff.
