24 Hour Amnesty Notice (Open for Reactions)

The GNN Logo would flash across the monitors throughout Republic space and wherever it was televised. A voluptuous blonde would begin speaking rapidly, her facial expression showing that of a bit of shock and concern. "We are interrupting your regularly scheduled programming to join an announcement from the heart of the Republic..." The screen would go blank for a minute and return to a picture of a podium infront of the Grand Senate Chambers on Anaxes.

The camera would pan out to focus on the Supreme Chancellor [member="Popo"] and a smaller female to which the screen identified her as the Senator of Alderaan, Alyesa Praxon-Organa. The Senator of Alderaan would approach the podium with the Supreme Chancellor behind her and clear her throat, causing the microphones to echo briefly.

"Good evening to all those who serve the Republic, to all her loyal citizens who stand with us tonight in our darkest hours." She looked up from her flimsies to the camera and then back down, reading over the notes for a moment before looking to her left. A soft breeze caused strands of darkened hair to blow across her vision. "Recently the Senate Bill 69743.2 passed with minimal opposition."

She paused and looked around the small crowd and then to the holocamera. "This bill is being relabeled as the Defense of Freedom Act, and under the Defense of Freedom Act, as the Chairman of the Security Council and in the interests of the Republic, I am hereby allowing the individuals on the list which my office has obtained, to leave the Republic." The sound of gasps and almost jarring boos emanated from the crowd.

She held her hands up, attempting to calm the crowd as she turned to look at the holocam. "Anyone who is a Sith collaborator, informant or operative has a 24 hour amnesty window, it's as simple as that."

Her hands would fall down to the podium, a single finger coming down to press on the flimsies before her. "If you do not vacate the positions you hold, leave Republic space and never return, you will be arrested and tried for treason."

Her index finger would rise. "If you return to Republic space, you will be arrested and tried under the Defense of Freedom Act, make no mistake ladies and gentlemen..." She brought her hand down and shuffled the flimsies. Her pause was long as she gazed around the crowd and took a deep breath. This was something that needed to be done, too long had the Republic dealt with insurgents within it's ranks. For far too long had she been bleeding information that cost the lives of millions. She would look at the holocamera one final time, face showing little to no emotion as she spoke.

"The Republic for too long has tolerated subterfuge within her ranks and corruption amongst supposed loyal members. It is time we take action and defend Freedom and Democracy from the tyrannical Sith. Be it One Sith or a Sith Empire, it doesn't matter." She nodded her head and went to leave the podium. "That is all."

Yusan merely remained silent as he watched this, a look of disappointment crossing his face as he heard the speech and his eyes closing as he contained the thoughts within him. Democracy dies in a applause and not a cry of pain they say, it is interesting how true the statement is, yet there did remain a tinge of hope that the way these are handled are in such a way that allows for a truly fair trial... the problem is who classified people as traitors and who were not, that is something he would have to watch his back on knowing what the others in the Senate thought about him for not voting Yay on the bill.

Kaiden watched as his eyes danced around the Holoscreen. The news came at him like a hot Twi'lek in his ear- he'd been waiting so long to hear the sweet sound of things on the up and up. He leaned forward in the musty chair, his pupils dilating with intense glee as he picked at the food in the cheap bowl clutched in his hands. He reached over to the table, grasping a small phone. A few numbers were punched in, echoing through the empty barracks he was in. He left a message- he didn't wanna bother [member="Popo"] at this time.

"Between you and me, anyone doesn't leave Pub space in the window won't be leaving at all."

He hung up his phone, and he continued to watch the screen. An evil smirk came across his features.

Delila stumbled through her apartment on Etti IV, half-tripping over a cardboard box containing some random belongings. She hadn't bothered to unpack much yet. Maybe she thought [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] was going to drag her back to Dahomey. Or maybe she was just busy. Flipping on some lights the redhead made her way to her small kitchen, still dressed in pajamas and a robe. Caf was put on, unhealthy breakfast pastry in hand.

The HoloNet was flipped on. With the proximity to the Republic, GNN was a channel option out in Free Space. Normally preferring a local news outlook but Delila supposed she couldn't be uneducated all the time. Hot caf in hand she stared at the screen, over looking the at the announcer. She half rolled her eyes at the information being presented. So typical of the Republic. Make a law and expect the bad guys to just pack and leave.

"What fools." Delila took a sip of the coffee and chewed on her sugary pastry "I bet the Sith are scared. Since when do they listen to governmental bills? Waste of tax payer credits. Thank the Force I'm not a soldier for them anymore."
