OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: This is a unit significant to Thalera's backstory and character as it guided her actions prior and post-cataclysm of Kaeshana where she went from a well-to-do Physician to the ruthless and short-tempered Governor-General she is today. Functionally they'll be apart of any storylines that focuses on Thalera and will even be around in faction roleplay threads, rebellions, invasions and anything of the sort.

COMBAT INFORMATION
- Availability: Unique
- Deployment: Mass
- Hardened, Brutal Veterans: The Eldorai Soldiers of the United Isianthar Regiment each have decades of experience behind them and lengthy amounts of training as a rock-solid foundation, little surprises these troops and few have the experience to match their own. Each Soldier is a veteran of several wars, skirmishes and firefights. They've seen more combat than their enemies have had hot meals most of the time.
- Overwhelmingly Superior Firepower: Equipped with a staggering amount of protection and firepower, the United Isianthar Regiment is peerless when it comes down to man-to-man pound for pound firepower and protection. They're unmatched making them an extreme threat to be faced with either at extreme ranges or in close-quarters. For example, in a section one Trooper is usually armed with a Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon with the two others carrying other heavy support weapons, giving a single squad the firepower of most platoons in other contemporary armies.
- Low Numbers: Constant warfare, natural catastrophe, attrition and recruitment shortages have left the UIR with crippling low manpower. Their cutting-edge technology, firepower, protection and experience is offset by the limitation of their numbers, a whole Company of these troops number just a modest three in a single section or "Squad" with an entire company being a paultry 48 men. The United Isianthar Regiment is almost always outnumbered by their foes in professional militaries at a ratio of 3:1 at best and 5:1 at worst. While the Regiment's size is respectable they usually deploy in small numbers.
- Air-Power: The 26th UIR is ill-equipped to deal with threats from the sky, their armour has a highly visible infrared and near-infrared profile and the regiment itself lacks any sort of dedicated fighter or bomber craft. When faced with aerial threats the Regiment is forced to use their personal weapons which often lack the range if not power to be effective against fast-moving fighters. The only truly effective way the 26th UIR can combat air attacks is by co-coordinating with the First Order's Starfighter Corps or other Military Assets, which requires them first to be present of course.
History & Description]
The 26th Royal Isianthar Infantry Regiment was a regiment-sized unit of the Royal Kaeshana Army during the zenith of Eldorai culture, politics and development shortly before the great cataclysm that brought their race to the low they've known for several years. It's at this time the Royal Isianthar Infantry Regiment collectively rallied around their regiment's leadership after the Monarchy and most of the Eldorai Court abandoned a significant portion of Kaeshana's citizens to die, refusing to forsake their oath to act as Kaeshana's gatekeepers for all time they remained on the scarred planet's surface, setting up several sanctuaries out of decrepit army depots, barracks and even a port. They became dedicated to preserving what remained of their population, culture and technology fighting a losing battle against the elements and raiders who came to become known as the "Forsaken." Several members of the regiment passed on from radiation-induced cancers and general attrition, their graves only recently marked and in many cases simply forgotten. This betrayal has left the Regiment's members with a seething and even unreasoning hatred for their previous government who now live in exile on Tygara and Arkan. As one of the only Paramilitary organisations left on Kaeshana post-cataclysm they enforced law harshly and made a habit of executing captured Forsaken and even violent criminals within their own midst, Thalera Isianthar the Regiment's then Officer Commanding deemed such measures necessary to maintain their settlements given the conditions where laxity and a lack of discipline would get them all killed. Leadership changed hands frequently between Elrendar Kalendris and Thalera in this time period as the latter became afflicted with several cancers and only managed to survive with what basic and barbaric medical treatment could be provided between droids, limited supply of drugs, appropriate equipment and Thalera's own knowledge given her status as a trained physician. An Eldorai child sacrificed herself in this time so that Thalera and another Officer within the regiment could receive treatment to recover from their radiation-induced mutation, which fuelled further resentment for the Monarchy. Now, whenever the soldiers of the United Isianthar Regiment come in contact with Tygarans or Arkans they cry out "For Anaria!" To remember one of many martyr.
With the arrival of the First Order and Galactic Alliance on Kaeshana, Thalera only needed to take one look at the two-sides and belligerents and decide which side she was going to support; The one without Tygarans or Arkans, so the Regiment sided with the First Order immediately. The Royal Isianthar Infantry Regiment rose from their underground bunkers and assaulted the Galactic Alliance and Firemane Forces with extreme prejudice in a battle many believed and hoped would be their final. The ragnarok to end their story. But it was not to be, Thalera lead the Regiment into the First Order's arms and though many of her people were reluctant it was better than living in squalor and a barren wasteland. Thalera would go on to become a First Imperial Governor, overseeing the crucial Phrik mining operation on Val'hala with the now 26th United Isianthar Infantry Regiment becoming apart of the First Order's military machine. Elrendar Kalendris become the Regiment's new officer commanding and appointed Thalera as the Regiment's patron within the First Order's government. The Regiment is often paid visits by Thalera and keeps them close aboard her flagship or on Val'hala, where they effectively serve as a paramilitary gendarmerie commanded by Thalera and Elrendar. United Isianthar Infantry Regiment soldiers have a noted disdain for Humans and other Aliens, sparing no harshness when operating either domestically or in a war zone with noted ruthless efficiency when used against light armed or inexperienced troops. Members have a begrudging respect for Natasi Fortan for her position as Grand Moff, making her an extremely powerful woman and some even refer to her respectfully as "The Iron Moff". Recently the Regiment has been involved in the First Order-Galactic Alliance War where they arrested, imprisoned and deported suspected defeatists, alliance sympathisers, saboteurs and political enemies on Val'hala mainly amongst the Republic veteran community and even saw action aboard the FIV Ashira.

Notable Personnel]
Governor-General Thalera Isianthar
Governor-General Thalera Isianthar is the Regiment's "Colonel-In-Chief" or it's patron. Maintaining a special connection with the unit, she is also the person responsible for allocating funds for the Regiment's continued operational and personnel salaries through her position as Governor of wealthy Val'hala; A colony responsible for mining and exporting Phrik leaving the 26th United Isianthar Infantry Regiment with modern state-of-the-art military technology. Thalera Isianthar is the De-facto commander of the Regiment, hence the title of 'Governor-General' which she has since accepted humbly and uses with a hint of pride. Most members respectfully refer to Thalera as "Colonel", not only to acknowledge her appointment but also previously held rank within the Regiment.
Captain Elrendar Kalendris
((Source: x))
Captain Elrendar Kalendris is the current commander of the Regiment leading it with the support and blessing of Governor-General Thalera Isianthar, he is the highest ranking and first male Eldorai to ever hold the post. Thalera chose Elrendar to lead the Regiment based off of his fighting prowess, tactical ability and the personal loyalty and friendship between the two. Elrendar personally leads a team of hand-picked Eldorai soldiers called the 'Shining Eagles' who form the close personal protection detail for Thalera on and off Val'hala. This arrangement also aids Thalera in conveying orders to the unit through Elrendar or whichever eagle is closest. Elrendar is supportive of Thalera's egalitarian merit-based approach to their people and so supports her personal ideology and is one of the few people still alive to know of the Governor-General's charitable activities in years gone by.
2nd Lieutenant Ayrwen Valenar
((Source: X))
Ayrwen Valenar is a veteran within the Regiment and one of Thalera's most trusted junior officers. Interestingly enough the two Eldorai share cybernetic eyes leading many to speculate that Ayrwen and Thalera lost their eyes in the same incident though no evidence exists to support this notion. Ayrwen was very welcoming to the influence of the First Order on Kaeshana and is openly hostile to Eldorai theocracy for their history of kidnapping children, Ayrwen recalling that the Priesthood abducted her elder sister for alleged force sensitivity. Ayrwen holds a personalized belief in the Eldorai Pantheon however and believes that Ashira's will is being done through the First Order, inwardly justifying her cruelty towards captured Galactic Alliance personnel and Insurrectionists. Ayrwen achieved notoriety where thanks to her quick thinking incinerated a group of P.O.Ws with a flamethrower who attempted to escape their makeshift camp being guarded by 26th UIR Troopers. Ayrwen was then inducted into the Shining Eagles by Elrendar Kalendris, impressed by her dedication to duty and quick-wits when under pressure.
Sergeant Kael Oathsdawn
((Source: X))
Sergeant Kael Oathsdawn was a squad leader within the 26th UIR before being hand-picked by Elrendar Kalendris to serve in the shining eagles to Thalera's quiet approval. While Kael isn't a new member of the regiment he is rather young and was plagued by immaturity and disobedience caused by youth and trauma he endured during the Cataclysm where he had to endure losing his entire family to Forsaken raiders. Since the loss of his family and continued service with the regiment developing a disgust for criminals, Kael has come to value the First Order's goal and finds the cause worthy of service. Elrendar Kalendris is Kael's personal hero and hopes that one day he might claim as high as the Eldorai Captain. Male Sergeants within the 26th are not unheard of but they are quite uncommon and Kael only made the rank after rallying his team after the previous squad commander was struck down by a sniper. Kael's ascension to the shining eagles came after he risked his life to save several Non-Eldorai children from a burning hospital while off-duty and is the eagles' dedicated Field Medic, being trained to provide First-Aid and perform field surgery by Governor-General Thalera Isianthar herself who was impressed with his selflessness and repeated feats of bravery. Kael typically carries a FWMB-10 Repeating Blaster in combat.
