Intent: This vessel is intended to be the first in a series of vessels and other products to be offered by Magrath Industries. Likewise it is meant to fill in a rather small niche; that being those poor worlds that would be incapable of purchasing other starfighters and interceptors of both 'higher quality' and higher price.

Primarily crafted out a light weight durasteel alloy composite; while the primary screen of the pilot's canopy is of a strong plexisteel laminate. The vessel is thus light weight and due to its cheap materials that are readily accessible; easy to rapidly produce.
Description:
The 357 series Intersystem class Interceptor is a light weight vessel produced by Magrath Industries. The Interceptor is crafted from light weight materials that allow for it to be vastly superior in speed to many other counterpart vessels or similar fighters. Likewise it is this light weight of the interceptor that allows it to be both relatively cheap to mass produce. Many of these strengths however have left openings for weaknesses that are easily seen.
Much like the TIE/LN Starfighter fielded by the Galactic Empire; the 357 series is a singular construct without moving parts. Likewise due to its minimalistic design, the interceptor itself lacks deflector shields as well as internal life support systems. This requires pilots to rely on the vessels maneuverability to ensure that their vessels are not damaged. Additionally, the pilots of the 357 series must wear a fully isolated and sealed environmental life support suit while piloting the vessel.
While there are many 'superior' starfighters on the market that do not possess these same qualities; the 357 series due to its relatively low price and the capability to mass produce them rapidly are its own incentive. Rather than being directly marketed for use in large military navies; they are instead, marketed to individual worlds for use in their own security forces. Additionally, it's rather small size and profile allow for a larger number to be stored in a hanger or vessel when compared to many other interceptors or starfighters.
