3d or 2d Animation Interest?

Greetings,

What is your preference when it comes to animation? 3d or 2d? What would you like to see more? I am both a 2d/3d modeler and while I have another post on my content I wanted to discuss something with the community, mainly as I do not have an outlet for such things I admit.

I ask because I am at the point where it is time for me to commit to 3d or 2d animation artwork. My artwork is not professional grade per say, but it is at the point where I have to start getting into 3d animation if I want to glean the most out of my effort. The learning curve for 3d art is steep, however it is more cost effective for me in the long run. Where 2d art has an easier learning curve and more resources, but is an old school method and resources are not cost effective on my limited funds.

Here is some breakdowns:

3d Animation
+++ Cost Effective
++ Less work
++ Cleaner work
+ Easier to Finalize
+ Less physical effort
--- Harder to learn
--- Requires more pre-planning
-- Less learning resources
- Looks more "crisp" when it comes to presentation

2d Animation
+++ Easier to learn
+++ Less Preplanning
++ A lot of resources
++ Experience can be translated from many communities (i.e. American Cartoon to Anime)
+ Can have a variety of "looks"
--- Very cost ineffective
- Heavier physical toll
-- Easier to make messy work
- Harder to finalize

Which do I enjoy more?
I enjoy doing 2d in the short run, 3d in the long run. 2d is great for creation of ideas, 3d for making them a reality. 2d is good at creating content, conveying ideas, and can be 'dumbed' down in many ways. But it is a lot more work too when it comes to physically presenting work. 3D is a lot of work too however once an asset is made you can re-use it pretty much forever.

As a disabled person I find 3d to be easier to sustain, as it is slightly painful for me to draw. That said, drawing animations in the past has been a delight to work with.

Here is a short sample of my 3d Animations in the past...
This:

Took about 16 hours to make. 2 hours to 3d model for animation and 14 hours to render on my computer.

Yet these two took about 4-6 hours a piece + ~5 hours to render a piece.

Just looking for your feedback, thank you for discussing.

Personally, I'm a 3d hobbyist. My major problem is that I find getting proportions right really hard in drawn objects. I love drawing landscapes, but for anything else, well that and Monty Oum are the reason I got into 3d Graphics. I'm a modeller/hobbyist, but I absolutely love it. It's majorly detail-oriented work, but it's such a good way for me to unwind and relax.

Between the two, I've found I really enjoy making 3d models a lot more. It does take more time, but it's like moulding clay, it's so amazing to see a scene come to life.

I started to get back into 3D animation a little over a year ago, and have been thoroughly enjoying it since. I've amassed a large library of Star Wars models in that span of time, so I've been trying to do little animations for Chaos (or just in general) any chance I can.

Here's some of my recent stuff:

And I also like to do opening crawls for some bigger threads (while this is my latest work, I've vastly improved my template since then to be more movie-accurate):
