Sleepless nights were spent in preparation for the Brotherhood’s return to the Core; fleets journeyed across the fabric of Alliance, gradually integrated into new naval task forces and put through rigorous patrol sorties. On paper, the founding of the 74th Expeditionary Strike Flotilla was nothing unlike the founding of any of its contemporaries. Following Commodore Kathause’s promotion to Rear Admiral, her own 3rd Carrier Line was sent to rendezvous with the 31st Artillery Line over the recently claimed planet of Adrathorpe. Following their meeting, the two lines were merged under the banner of the 74th Flotilla, with Kathause appointed the formation’s commanding officer.
As of yet, the Flotilla is an entirely new name in the records of the Galactic Alliance Defense Fleet, with little of its own history to boast. But the names of the 3rd Expeditionary Carrier Line and the 31st Artillery Line have each appeared in numerous battles across the span of the GA’s campaign against the Brotherhood of the Maw, persisting through the odds and cutting through the fires of darkness.
The combined force stands ever vigilant to guard every meter of Alliance territory, and to return the fight to the Maw if necessary.

- Description: Like the 3rd Expeditionary, the line that paved the way for the 74th’s organization, the flotilla is designed around the purpose of rapidly responding to emerging threats. It makes extensive use of starfighter swarms, launched from escort ships or from the 74th’s massive flagship, to sweep wide swathes of space or to overwhelm hostile vessels. In full-scale conflict, doctrine dictates that the flotilla be split into its two components, the 3rd Carrier Line and 31st Artillery line, with the former taking cover behind friendly defenses to provide long-range support, and with the latter more actively engaging enemy fleets.

- Reputation: A newer formation in the grand scheme of the Alliance military, the 74th has not been granted enough time to solidify a reputation of its own. However, the formation carries with it the fame and exploits of its founding lines, the 3rd Expeditionary Carrier Line and the 31st Artillery. With the reputations of the former and latter taken into account, the 74th flotilla can be counted on to fight with unceasing ferocity and fire against the Galactic Alliance’s rival powers.
