- Description: Shrouded from head to toe in Ivory duraplast, the Marines of the 7th Mechanized Regiment struck an iconic figure as they represented the best of the best that the Alliance and her Defence Force had to offer. Their armour was adorned with various Ochre inscriptions and iconography that detailed their specializations, as well as the units they belonged to. The emblem, worn proudly on their pauldrons and stencilled onto their vehicles, was a stylized Seven in Aurebesh laid atop the Star-encircled Starbird of the Alliance. Unlike their cousins in the 104th Battalion, the Troopers of the 7th Mechanized were more conservative in their appearance - electing to forgo the animalistic comparisons the “Wolfpack” drew. For, they were proud, stalwart defenders of the Galactic Alliance, not animals masquerading as men.

- Notable Tactics (Combined Arms):
- Combat Veterans; Sith-Imperial Campaign(s): Initially founded and deployed during the early days of the Galactic Alliance’s Core-ward Expansion, the 7th Mechanized Regiment was soon dispatched to the frontlines in the Outer Rim Territories. There, the Alliance Marines swiftly experienced the true and terrible nature of combined arms warfare as they were pitted against the relentless Sith Empire. With every victory and defeat on the battlefield, the Marines of the 7th Regiment consistently learn valuable lessons - not only about the enemies they face - but of themselves as well. Thus, through their garnered knowledge and understanding of the myriad realms of war, these Stalwart Defenders have more than earned the right to the claim of their veterancy.
- Frontline and Siege Warfare Specialties: After several engagements stationed at the frontlines, where the fighting was thickest and where the enemy was entrenched, the 7th Mechanized earned themselves a reputation for Siege warfare and Frontline specialists. They were capable of recognizing the weakest point’s in an enemy’s line of fortifications and exploiting it to the fullest - either by smashing their armoured columns into the vulnerability or utterly demolishing it beneath a ceaseless artillery barrage. In addition to exploiting weaknesses, the 7th Mechanized could entrench themselves behind improvised fortifications of their own, becoming a nigh-infallible bulwark against their enemy’s onslaught.
- Adaptive Tactics and Strategies: The Commanders of the 7th Mechanized are always learning, Not only from their own subordinates but from the various tactics that their enemy’s employ as well. To that end, the Marines of the 7th Regiment have adopted a more flexible method of approach when it comes to engaging the enemy. While some Subunits prefer utilizing textbook procedures, a vast majority of the Regiment elects to interpret the battlefield’s ebbs and flow and respond accordingly. For example; It’d be foolish to bayonet charge an entrenched artillery position when fast-moving attack vehicles would do.
- Stalwart Defenders: As the Core Worlds have suffered beneath the boots of the Sith, many within the 7th Mechanized believe that their cause is just. That every Marine, clad in Ivory and Ochre, is fighting not only to avenge their dead but punish the Sith Empire for their unrestricted malice. Thus, the Regiment seemingly adopted the stubborn mindset of refusing to give ground against their enemy, that in taking one step backwards - all was lost. They would stand their ground in the face of whatever horrors were pitted against them on the battlefield and would either carry the day through grit and tenacity or die trying.
- Requires Aerial and Starfighter Support: While the 7th Mechanized is and likes to consider itself a Combined Arms Unit, the Regiment is sorely lacking in the Aerial and Starfighter detachments. The Marines are therefore forced to rely on their allies in the requisite branches of the Alliance Defence Force to cover the gaps in any engagement; be it defensive or offensive. With that being said, however, the mechanized armour utilized by the 7th Regiment included some anti-aerial emplacements - allowing them to at least weather the storm until aerial reinforcements arrived. Although the 7th Regiment has access to a select amount of Gunships, they’re regulated to transport duties or rapid-relocation efforts - rather than being utilized as dedicated fire-support platforms.
- Inexperienced Reinforcements: Although most Regiment is considered to be hardened combat veterans, a small minority of Fresh Faces exists within the 7th Mechanized’s organizational structure. These fresh faces could be replacements for fallen Officers or Comrades and are often inexperienced compared to their predecessors. While the 7th Regiment does what it can to help these “Greenies” catch up to the rest of the Unit - their untested prowess and knowledge could likely lead to friendly casualties and fatalities on the battlefield. Such is the way of war.
- Until the End: While many within the Regiment believe the stubborn nature they adopted to benefit the Unit, such claims couldn’t be further from the truth. Where other Units would give ground to save their skins, the Marines of the 7th were vehemently opposed to withdrawing in the face of an enemy advance. They would keep fighting to avenge their fathers, mothers, sons and daughters until the bitter end. Such methodology gave birth to the Regiment’s unofficial motto, as these Marines wouldn’t back down from a fight - and would either emerge victoriously or die in the attempt. Naturally, this steadfastness conflicted with their perchance for adaptive tactics, as some Platoons would be needlessly slain to the man, whilst others tactically repositioned themselves to better engage the enemy.
- Only Mortal: The 7th Mechanized Regiment wasn’t led by Jedi, nor had any of their esteemed Order attached to the Command Structure. Thus, when combating threats like Sithspawn or Darksiders, the Alliance Marines often found themselves at a disadvantage against such beings. Despite this significant drawback when facing off against proverbial gods, the 7th Regiment always seeks new measures to level the playing field. Their armour and advanced technologies could only protect them so much against an ever-evolving threat. Their weapons, too, could only do so much damage against the hordes of alchemical abominations unleashed against them. For, in the end - they were only mortals, seeking to turn back the tides of darkness with naught but blasters and blades.
Operational History:
The Origins of the 7th Mechanized Regiment were closely tied to the reformation of the Galactic Alliance. As the two Core-bound factions came together to reunify the Region, there was not only much rejoicing but a considerable effort made towards reorganizing their combined militaries. Thus, as the two armies came together as one, the 7th Mechanized Regiment was founded. Their initial exploits were unworthy of note, as they were overshadowed by greater events taking place elsewhere in the Core Worlds. But, the Regiment as a whole managed to cut their teeth against whatever Imperial and Sith remnants still openly operated within the Core Regions.
While the battles against these remnants were brutal and bloody, the Commanding Officer of the Regiment knew that these dregs were naught but a stepping stone towards a greater threat that lurked beyond the Alliance’s borders. The Alliance Marines learned how to counter their Imperial and Sith adversaries’ rigid tactics and strategies, refusing to give in to their displays of power and force projection. Thus the seeds of their Regiment’s ideologies had sown themselves into the Unit proper, laying the foundations for these Marines to be Stalwart Defenders of the Alliance.
As the Senate voted to send their soldiers to war against the Sith Empire, seeking to punish them for their misdeeds, the 7th Mechanized Regiment was assigned to a Battlegroup that would ferry them into the proverbial heart of the Stygian Caldera. While the Regiment had a string of relatively minor encounters with the enemy, their moment to shine didn’t come until the Battle of Felucia. The 7th Mechanized worked in concert with the 104th Battalion to secure the planet and assist the locals in ousting the Sith-Imperial Garrison. It was there that the Regiment showed their aptitude for Siege warfare, as they utilized their armour and mobile artillery units to significant effect against the entrenched Sith-Imperial forces.
Nowhere was this more apparent than before the walls of Kway Teow, the Felucian Capital City. With their flanks secured by allied units, the 7th Regiment encircled the settlement and began digging defensive positions. They were more than content with levelling the improvised defences and fortifications that the City’s garrison had erected. However, despite their best-laid plans, portions of the Mechanized Regiment were ambushed by enraged fauna and cohorts of Sithspawn - which somehow managed to tear down an entire artillery line. With only a single section of cannons remaining, alongside some Sith seeking to draw the Jedi Commanders away from the battlefield… the order to attack was given.
While the Commanding Officer of the 7th Regiment was initially opposed to throwing his men into battle without support or softening up the enemy’s defences, the Major elected to utilize an unorthodox strategy to gain entrance to the City. As the Gun batteries began their barrage, the Command Juggernaut of the 7th Regiment began aligning itself with one of the City’s walled gates. When the two opposing forces were aligned, the Major gave the order to charge. Laden with eager Alliance Marines, the Command Juggernaut busted through the gate like an improvised battering ram, allowing the 7th Regiment and the 104th Battalion to take advantage of the Chaos and pour into the City proper.
It was only a matter of time after that critical turning point, as the City of Kway Teow was soon occupied by Alliance forces, and Felucia itself was liberated from Sith-Imperial control after that.
From there, the Stygian Campaign progressed towards the venerable Sith heartland. With minor skirmishes against the Sith Empire, the armed forces of the Alliance soon found themselves in orbit over the world of Ziost. As the second leg of the Stygian Campaign, the 7th Mechanized was once again teamed up with the 104th Battalion and tasked with taking the capital city of New Adasta. This time, instead of taking an entire month to secure the planet before landing the decapitation strike, the Alliance went straight for the head - seeking to quickly take the City and rout the Sith-Imperial garrison in the process.
Their initial landings proceeded smoothly, as one Fighter Tank after the other was deployed to the surface in preparation for the attack. As they were supported by elements of the Alliance Navy and the Starfighter Corps, the 7th Regiment had little to worry about, as their allies drew first blood. When a majority of the Mechanized Regiment was deployed, the Order was given to assault the City. They needed to move swiftly to capitalize on the daringness of their assault and keep the defenders on the back foot. As more and more Fighter Tanks were being deployed, they followed in the wake of their Commanding Officer as he led the Speartip assault. However, the firepower that their Fighter Tanks brought to bear wasn’t enough to breach the walls.
For that, the 7th Mechanized Regiment had to thank their valiant comrades in the 104th Battalion.
Through various acts of sabotage and pre-set explosive charges, the pathway into New Adasta was made open. With several of the enemy emplacements destroyed and their orbital vectors made clear, the rest of the Regiment began to deploy in earnest. However, while everything was proceeding according to plan, the 104th Battalion and the 7th Regiment were ambushed on two fronts by the Sith-Imperial garrison. Rousing themselves from previously hidden tunnels and sewage pipes, legions of Sithspawn stormed the City - killing anyone and everyone in sight. In addition to such wanton slaughter, the orbital guns were retasked and targeted the City proper - raining hellfire on Alliance Marine and Sith-Imperial alike.
Despite everything going to hell in a handbasket, the 7th Regiment endured. It persevered against all odds and claimed a Pyrrhic Victory in the streets of New Adasta, only for the Alliance Expeditionary Force to be trapped as the Sith Empire exerted their influence and reclaimed a majority of their lost ground. Thus, in preparation for what was to come - the surviving Stalwart Defenders of the Alliance began digging in. New Adasta would either become the site of their ultimate victory in this battle against the Sith-Imperial menace or would die standing - having fought with all their might for what they believed in.
