- Formation and Size: As part of one of the first established regiments of the 501st Legion - the 23rd Light Inf - the 8th Airborne Battalion is formed almost fully of Sith-Imperial defectors. Its namesake, the All-Imperial, is due to the fact the battalion's stormtroopers are from all, without exception, oversectors of the Sith Empire. It is a slightly oversized battalion due to the attachments of a number of additional support companies of artillery, combat engineers and logistics making it a well-fit unit.
- Warfare: Special reconnaissance, conventional and irregular warfare. The 8th is the only special operations capable battalion of the 23rd which utilizes its airborne capabilities to its fullest. The 8th Aiborne Battalion was one of the first formed units after Irveric Tavlar's declaration of defiance. Initially the 8th was fully comprised of Sith-Imperial airborne defectors but as the civil war progressed replenishments to its manpower was sourced from fresh recruits to maintain the unit's integrity and organization. Its namesake, the All-Imperial, is due to the fact that there is a stormtrooper from every Sith-Imperial oversector, and nearly every star system as well.
After the defeat at Borosk, and suffering heavy casualties, decimated special operations units were consolidated into the 8th making it the only special operations capable battalion of the 23rd Light Infantry Regiment. These specialists would play a vital part in the 'revamping' process of the 8th following the Reclamation of Bastion.
As the Iron Sun rose across the wider galaxy and the state was officially established, the 8th was revamped to align with the new strategic goals outlined by the Imperator. Hence, the All-Imperial utilized the experience of the specialists to become a force capable of foreign expeditions as unmarked soldiers capable of waging irregular warfare against hostile designated forces. Insurgencies, uprisings, foreign internal defence and other destabilizing activities became second nature to the 8th.
