A Better Logo Rendition?

Hey all! So as you know I'm no maverick with Photoshop and after three days of trying to create a presentable final product for my company's logo I've given up all hope. I find it exceedingly hard to add a metallic look to the logo above all else, and I end up with a dull gray looking color that just makes me cringe. So this is the basic image I've been working with:

I like the format and images in it, even though some of the letters are askew, but all in all it's okay. What I was wondering is if there was anyone able to make this look like an actual professional emblem. I was thinking maybe something more metallic like you'd find on a pin than this standard black and what scheme I have going. Maybe someone with decent knowledge of the chrome effects could do it well enough?
