A Breath of Fresh Air [Mythos]

Animus was always busy. He would never forget to see to the basics of his daughters needs, spending the morning helping to dress her and do her hair, tucking her in at night, eating meals with her, but outside of that they did not spend much time together.

So it was that Kida had quietly requested a day with him. She had been a little nervous doing so, because she knew that Animus' work and reign was important, but she was missing him dearly.

Stepping through the Palace, Kida made her way toward the large outdoor room which boasted a roof and wonderful pillars that opened it up to the world at large. It was the space that Kida usually trained in, but it was also secluded enough that no one would bother them here.

Before he was a lord he was a father, his daughter was above all else the single greatest thing in his life. Mythos knew she would be here but he did not advertise his presence, without weapons and sporting nothing else than his royal robes he made his way to the training grounds his daughter was in. He knew how much she enjoyed nature and the fresh breeze of the open fields outside the palace so the place of training had always been designed for her with that in mind.

Seeing her was a breath of fresh air, he hardly ever got time away to be with his daughter and when he did it was normal quickly interrupted. Not today however, today he would make sure that all delegations were brought up to the standing counsel with Galicus over there. Today... was for Kida and he was glad that day had finally come. "Hello my dear" He said kneeling beside her and giving her the same warm smile he had shot her when he rescued her and every day since. As always Groom was never too far away, either hunting or scouting the parameter Groom was the head of security in most cases. "Papa is here" He said planting a kiss on her cheek.

He did not have to announce his arrival. Kida sensed him immediately, though she exercised self control and did not leap up. Instead she waited for him to reach her side, practically squirming in her seat as waiting was not her forte, and turned to give him the biggest hug known to man kind after he kissed her cheek.

"Papa!" she exclaimed, "You came!"

She could sense Groom close by, just beyond the ridge of the training room. She knew better than to call for the tuk'ata when he was on the prowl, though, and besides while he was her most favouritest friend in the world, her Papa came first every time.

Pulling back the little girl reached into the pocket of her dress, hand clenching around something small.

"I made something for you, Papa..."

Tentatively she extended out her hand to him, and turning it palm facing up she opened up her hand to reveal a small Daux cat made out of wood.

"It's taken me weeks to make! I... I hope you like it."

There was even a hole in the top small enough to not take away from the overall feel of the gift, but big enough that he could loop through a thin rope of leather should he wish to wear it.

He held her in her arms and thought nothing more of the outside world. "I'm so sorry i have been away..." He said to her but mostly it was an apology to himself, he ha not forgiven himself for allowing his work to consume most of his time and took away from their quality time. Before he could part his eyes from her she brought something from her pocket and Mythos raised an eyebrow. "Oh? let me see.."

The wooden daux cat was uncanny in appearance, a beautiful carving for someone so young. It brought a smile to his face and he took it into his hands with gleeful anticipation. "Its awesome! i shall wear it into battle next time, i promise.... I have something for you too"

With the force and his mastery of telekinesis he brought forth from his cloak a lava crystal from mustafar that shined in a red blazing light. "This is a lava crystal from my friend in Mustafar... when you make your lightsaber you can use it." He could not help but to feel the rushing desperation of love, he hugged his daughter like he would never see her again, a thought that was much more than just a possibility. "I love you... remember that, I love you more than anything in the entire galaxy"

She twirled a lock of his hair around her finger and settled his other hand to her Papa's cheek, staring intently at him.

"You look tired, Papa."

Then she frowned, and shook her head. "You don't have to apologise. I understand, Papa. You have a lot of... of..." What was the word? She couldn't figure it out, so instead she fell silent and watched his reaction to the present.

She grinned when he said that he would wear it.

"It will bring you good luck, I promise."

Kida's eyes widened as she saw the light shimmer across the crystal, and she reached out toward it. "It's beautiful" she whispered. Carefully she cradled it in her hands, before wrapping her arms around his neck and nuzzling his shoulder.

"I love you too Papa! You're everything to me."

And she meant it. He had saved her, raised her, helped her to speak and walk. They may not have shared blood, but that did not matter.

He was her Father.

"That's because I am..." He said while managing a smile. His strength had faded, so many wounds and scars in his body and now even the force had been taken from him....it was time to take the advice [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] had given him and take his role as a father. He smiled to her, not letting her see his pain or weakness for a second and took her hands into his. "We are going to leave this place, we are going far away with Groom, we are going to see many places... your brother is coming along too..." He stood and took her into his arms, she was heavier than he remembered but his body still had strength left in it somewhat after being stuck inside a bacta tank for a week.

They were leaving One Sith space, possibly forever, Mythos had already prepared a special ship packed with all they ever needed as well as those of the Jar'Kai who remained loyal to him even through everything they had gone through together. His weapons were packed, he would need to train once again in the arts of combat, become a warrior once again through training. His body had suffered severe injuries, bloodied and battered yet now healed and on his way back to recovery with every passing second. Mythos walked with her in his arms to the docking bay, he had already decided that [member="Nomkneer"], General of Atrisia would rule Atrisia in his stead and make sure the planet thrived under his command. Mythos could not be king anymore, could not be part of the One Sith with his power at the moment, he was of no use to them.... His son would rule them and he would pave the way for his rise if it took a thousand years... that was his mission now, raise his son who he had seen in the vision before his death in the force.

This was the first page in a new chapter, a new adventure and a new story to tell...

They were headed first to Thrandosha to make their homes or so Mythos planned, a lush green world filled with prey to hunt and closer to Korriban than Atrisia.... also secluded from prying eyes of the Sith and the Alliance... he would need to remember the teaching of [member="Darth Ophidia"] now... he would need to become a shadow to the galaxy. His artifacts would come with him, yet he knew that they would only cause problems which is why [member="Serena Bouie"] would take care of them while he was away, her powers increased tenfold, her mastery of the force becoming prevalent and clear with each passing day. Mythos knew.... He knew he would see her grow old, time passing for him and his daughter without so much as a gray hair to show for it while his beloved would feel the full force of time... He did not dwell on it, but it was in his mind.

"I will never leave your side again, I promise..."

Truthfully, Kida hadn't quite gotten used to the fact that she had a little brother now and the reminder brought a small frown to her lips. Any day now, she thought, it could be any day that they chose to cast her out now they had a real child of their own.

Kida was no stranger to abandonment. It had happened numerous times before. But where would she go? Where could she go? She was just a child, a child who despised the great metal beasts known as Starships, which would be the only option to get her somewhere new.

With such somber thoughts putting a severe downer on their day together, Kida simply nuzzled her head against her Father's shoulder and sighed. Mythos was including her now, and she liked to think that Groom would never leave her even if she was left behind, but what about when his son grew up? What about when he could do all that she could, and more?

As he lifted her into the air, an act which usually resulted in a squee of joy, Kida simply clutched him tightly. Something felt wrong with her Father today, he didn't feel whole. "Something is missing" she whispered, nuzzling against his neck, "You've lost something."

Leaning back ever so slightly, Kida stared into his eyes. Her brows pulled together into a furrow, her feline senses taking over as she peered into the depths of his core. "Papa, what happened?"

He walked her through the halls, past everything she had grown to love, and toward the hangar bay. Was this really it? The last sights of the place she called home? At least she was not losing her Papa, not yet. "Don't leave me" she whimpered, "I'll be good, I promise."

Even when he made his own promise, she couldn't help but feel the gnawing seed of doubt. So much so that she quite refused to be put down once they were aboard the ship. Kida had never been a clingy child, fiercely independent in so many ways, but the thought of losing someone else she had grown to love weighed heavily on her soul.

Her words struck him like a mallet, how could she know? He was careful to hide every shred of doubt, sadness and pain from his visage yet she still managed to know exactly what was happening. He smiled and shot her a wink while hugging her tight into his arms. He shook his head and took the face of shock and awe from his face.
"Nothing is wrong, i just lost my powers is all" He said it with a smile, as if it was nothing more than a scratch. He wanted to be her strength and her titan and he could not do that if he looked worried or hurt at all. Still... she deserved the story.

"Well... its a long story.." He began while walking to the massive frigate at the moment being filled with all the resources they would need and the men and women of the elite loyalist Jar'Kai who willingly gave their services to Mythos even after his leave in the order. "I went to a planet and fought a strong Jedi and his wife to defend the One Sith from invaders"

He started to walk up the ramp and looked his daughter in the eyes while speaking of the story. "His name was [member="Thurion Heavenshield"].... and instead of killing me, once he beat me, he took my powers away and gave me a chance to be a father and a husband..." He spoke with no anger or resentment towards the Jedi, instead a reverent respect and admiration to the fighter obvious in his tone. "He told me to return to my family, raise my son and my daughter... that is what i intend to do."

Her concern of being abandoned came as no surprise to him, yet he held her tight when she whimpered to him closing his eyes and whispering back. "I will never, ever leave you... I promise... besides its now you and Groom who will have to protect me and your brother Until i become super strong again." He held out his hand dramatically. "Plant surge! to everyone!"
The ramp closed behind them, it was time to leave Atrisia... once and for all.

Lost his powers? What did he mean? Kida truly did not know. The child frowned curiously, tilting her head to one side as she listened to her Father as he told his story. Everything was fine up until he mentioned the name of the one who had severed him.

Kida gawped.

Her breathing slowed as conflict rose within her, brows furrowing. "T-Thurion" she whispered, it had been a long time since she had heard that name though she had recently seen the boy. Man. He was a man now. "Furry..."

She shook her head. That couldn't be right. Why would he hurt her Papa?

But as Mythos continued his story, she understood the implications of his actions. The why. And her heart skipped a beat before becoming engulfed in a warm sensation. Thurion had given her a chance at a true family, without external pressures.

Without warning the little girl began to sniffle, burying her face down against her Papa's shoulder. "He... He saved us" she whispered, her hand trailing up to his beard. She had always drawn comfort from facial hair, even as far back as when Jaxton cared for her. Now she absent mindedly ran her fingers through it, her eyes closing.

The Sith had never sat well with Kida; they were destructive, they viewed the Galaxy as their own and would stop at nothing to gain what they desired, even if it meant exterminating whole species' and plowing down swathes of nature.

And now she would not have to associate with them. And neither would her Papa.

Mythos chuckled when she said the name 'furry', he had suspected that there was a connection between his daughter and the warrior he faced in Lujo, now there was no doubt, Mythos now thought it prudent to perhaps reunite the two to snuff out the thought that she need be in conflict with either. He held his daughter tight in his arms as the engines of the Frigate roared loudly preparing for departure from Atrisia. [member="Braxus Zambrano"] had given Mythos an opportunity to escape Atrisia without the slightest whisper in the One Sith ranks and even gave him further protection by faking his death and even orchestrating a funeral. "Indeed he did..., now we are going to have fun and do our own thing, whatever we want!"

He changed the subject on the fly as they entered the main chambers inside the frigate separated for them. The frigate was well stocked thanks to Braxus, enough food for decades and an speeder bikes from the OS as well as a couple of starfighters and good communications all without a smudge of strange activity on One Sith armory recalls... He would need to even further thank Braxus in the future... maybe a little something in the funeral would drop by as extra for the man. The armor of the fallen king, his new armor, was already ready and strapped for use in his chambers next to Serena's lightsaber... it wold be quite an adventure.

"It's going to be fun"
[member="Kida Malgus"]

While Kida had high hopes for wherever it was they were going, if her Father knew her as well as she thought it would hopefully be nature filled and wonderous, she could not for the moment share in his enthusiasm. She despised these horrible metal lumbering beasts, even after all the time she had spent on them alongside Mythos.

Try as she might, she simply couldn't do it. She couldn't pretend they were anywhere else.

So she clutched at Mythos as tightly as she could, refusing to let him go. And when he was finally able to set her down the girl yelped and fled through the vessel in search of comfort, the only thing which could do such being the refreshers. There, at least, there was water.

Curling up in the basin, letting the slight drip of water splash alongside her, Kida was met with Groom who enveloped her and held her close as best a tuk'ata could. Sometimes she wondered how an animal could understand her so well, but at the end of the day she had always been more beast than girl.
