3 AM was a strange time on the temple ship, Prosperity.

For most, sane people, it was a time to sleep. For Jonyna, it was a time to get a snack. Jonyna's sleep schedule had always been....erratic, but nowadays she couldn't help but grab a bit of bacon to calm her stomach.

The people you meet in the kitchen at 3 AM.

This was the question.

Just having docked from a long trip, Ran could feel the need for sustenance approach. From the Jedi Enclave of Svivren to the Jedi ship Prosperity she had gone almost an entire solar cycle without food. Between the busted food synthesizer on her ship and the insect infestation that ravaged her fresh ingredients, Ran had no choice but to meditate through her rumbling stomach.

Once she made it to the Prosperity she made a beeline for one of the mess halls and went straight for the kitchen. For a while she had the whole place to herself and all the fresh ingredients in the temple at her disposal. She tied her long dark hair back as she meant business, danced around the room, grabbing ingredients, prepping them, and combining them to make something very special.

Once it was finished it was a sight to behold a giant pot of steaming Ormachek Soup and a refreshing Cushnip, Protato, and Schule Nef Salad. They were staples aboard Ran's starship. She was always happy to make them, and even happier to eat them. She dipped a small spoon into the soup to have the first taste and as she did the door to the kitchen swung open.

Wide-eyed, Ran spotted the strong female Cathar that had taken her by surprise. "Hello," She paused and extended the spoon toward the stranger. "Would you like to taste?" If there was one thing Ran liked to do, it was share her successes. She had a feeling this dish was a great success.

"Yes please."

It was said the key to a woman's heart was through her stomach. In this moment, that was very true. The jedi master was very hungry, and only half awake. Dressed only in a pair of gym shorts and a t-shirt she had clearly thrown on for the sake of modesty, Jonyna sat at the island of the kitchen on a stool, and waited like a kid watching their mother cook. Tail swishing back and forth eagerly. Soup was an old favorite of the Cathar, and she wanted whatever was in this one.

Ran grinned at the cathar’s impeccable manners. The word please always went a long way with her. “Okay. Taste test.” Ran announced with a warm smile as she extended the spoon out and toward the woman in front of her. She kept a hand underneath the spoon to keep from spilling. “Careful. It’s hot.” Ran observed as she angled it toward the woman’s mouth.

It took a moment for Ran to realize how intimate the moment might’ve seemed. The act of feeding a person was often reserved for those close to one another; family, lovers, and the closest of friends. Ran and the woman in front of her were strangers and Ran was inexperienced in matters of intimacy, but that could always change.

“Is it to your liking? Would you care for a bowl?” Ran asked as she studied the woman from across the island. She was like Ran. Tall and Strong. But where Ran was lithe and lean, the woman was built. Ran thought she’d be an intimidating sight across a battlefield but in the kitchen in a sleepy combo of shorts and a simple tee she was rather adorable.

As she ladled the soup into a bowl and made sure to make no mess, the thirty-something, leather clad Jedi introduced herself. “Ran Serys, Jedi Knight." She said with a smile as she pulled the pot from the heat. "And you are?"

The intimacy of the act seemed completely lost on Jonyna, as she leaned in to slurp up the soup from the spoon, whatever manners Ran thought she had fell to the wayside for Jonyna when she loudly slurped up the soup.

"Oh yes, a whole bowl please."
Jonyna purred as she looked to the woman. Punch-drunk hunger snapped to reality at the question of who she was, switching to confusion.

"....Jonyna Si? I'm the new Council member. Have you really not heard of me?"

Confused by confusion. "I've heard the name, but I've never seen your face. I'm sorry if I've offended you." Ran apologized to the woman. She was clearly proud of her new station. "If it is any consolation, I don't keep up with the news and haven't been in front of the council very much these last few years." She continued simplifying a very long story into fourteen simple words. "Regardless, Congratulations, Master Si." Ran celebrated and slid the Jedi Master a hot bowl.

Ran swiftly buried her face into her own bowl. For her, the dish had indeed been one of her best yet. She slurped voraciously, satisfying her hunger. With a quick glance at the chronometer on the wall, Ran found herself curious. "What are you doing up so late, Master Si? Or should I say early?" When one spent a life hopping from planet to planet, one could never be sure of their internal clock.

"Oh, you don't need to call me that. I just...curious why you hadn't heard of me."
She waved off. "Big news following the battle of Coruscant, three new council members. Figured everyone and their mom had heard." She let out a chuckle as she watched the woman slurp up her own bowl. Jonyna took a more patient approach, sipping spoonfuls of soup at a time. "Oh, my sleep schedule is erratic at best. I just needed a midnight snack. What about you?"
