Being on the constant look out for safe havens was at times exhausting. Not only were there jobs to do in between for these sleazy Hutts, but then there was the actual job of packing things up and moving what was left of Galaar's clan. Eventually they were going to need a place, a permanent place that would house them and keep them protected from whatever foul deal that had been made. Running constantly wasn't doing anyone any good, not to mention it was eating through resources like no one's business.

A fact that had Calixte back in Hutt space, whether she liked it or not - and she did not. But, she had taken a job, a quick and easy hunt that she had already turned in and gotten paid for. Not a whole lot, but it would definitely replenish some much needed supplies for the clan. It was done, and over with, and she could head back to the others now.

Or at least...that had been the plan...

A far too familiar ship had caught her sights, and it stopped the redheaded vixen dead in her tracks. She half turned, scoffed noisily, then shook her head and marched that way. There was a bit of heat in her steps, but not the sort that would cause her to start blasting holes in the damned thing with her blaster. No, instead she stopped short of where the ramp would open up and laid her hands against her hips. For quite a long moment she stared, just stared, and then her head shook again and she was quick to open a comm link so that she could send a short and sweet message.

["Long time no see. Get back to your ship."]

Hell, he may have been inside, she didn't know. But if he wasn't? Well, she knew he would make his way back now.

Having literally just finished the trade of a pair of targets for credits, it was a small surprise when his comm went off before he could check the bounty boards for more work. Hearing the voice though, a smile cracked over his face under the helmets mask, and he was quick to go back to his ship, the board could wait at this point, there was a much more pressing matter back at his ship to deal with currently.

Hastily moving through the crowd, he approached the starport with almost zero regards for his safety. When he got there, he scanned the area, and let out a bit of a whistle, "Stalking me now?" he called out with an amused voice, as he started to lean against the door frame to the hanger, waiting to see where she was hiding.

There was no hiding for Calixte; she was not a creature to do as such. So when Mav came around and into view, Cali was stood right in the open where he would see her immediately. She had originally had her back to him, but hearing his voice? She pivoted on a foot to face him. Hands still on her hips, lips pursed, brow pulled down as she looked across the distance between them.

And yet, his inquiry made her almost smirk. Almost. "Don't flatter yourself." she let out to him. "So this is where you've been? Galavanting about again?" Really she knew he wouldn't have been literally galavanting, but she was clearly heated, and seeing him here after so long? Well, he deserved more than just the verbal lashing she was biting back in the moment.

He watched her, thinking for a moment, and grinning to himself under the helmet, "Gotta pay for fuel somehow, plus, gallivanting is fun." he had to use her words as a playful jab back as he finally started to move towards her, "It's been on job after the other since Mandalore fell, and with no aliit..." his voice cut for a moment, his body language suggesting he was a bit frustrated, "We all have to do what we can vod, you know that."

He could still sense her irritation though, so he had a feeling he may have stoked the fire more than putting it out, but he continued his course towards her, but stopping when there were a few feet between them, "What are you doing out here though, I wonder? I thought you had taken up with what's his face and his aliit?" he was genuinely curious after all things had become a mess, the protectors? were gone, crusaders? gone, hell the empire was gone. The galaxy wasn't a very welcoming place for their kind anymore, especially with the rumors that circled these days.

"Gallivanting is fun, sure." She rolled her eyes, more than visible considering she had no helmet on - as per usual. "Unfortunately, that also tends to take you away from the things that were fun before. Hence the 'what's his face' aspect of it all."

Her arms folded beneath her bust, and she arched a brow sharply as she gazed across the distance. But, he wasn't wrong either. About all of it. "We all do what we can," it was her turn to use his words in retort to him. She watched him as he had approached her, and there was a part of her that told her to step back, to maintain distance between them. But she didn't, she remained rooted to the spot.

"I'm here replenishing supplies. The others..." again her eyes rolled, though this time she groaned. "I'm not even sure what I'm doing anymore, Mav...."

"Don't lay that on me, I did offer you to tag along." he was a little defensive, but she was right, if he hadn't left, things would be very different for them both right now. He'd have sighed if he didn't think she'd take it as a sign of her winning an argument, so he remained standing there, hands on his own hips as they conversed, though he was waiting for her to swing any minute now.

Her trying to retort only ended with a small chuckle, he had a feeling she'd try that, but it was next response that threw him off a bit and he gave up the stoic pose, "Not going well, I assume?" he seemed concerned at this point, and gestured at the ship, offering her to go inside. Passing Cali, and heading into the ship, Mavrek removed the helmet and placed it on the weapons bench just on the inside of the secondary door into the ship, then turned to look at Cali with a look of sympathy, "It's getting harder, isn't it?"

"You offered- Its not like you gave me much time to think it over, Mavrek!" She was starting to lose her composure, and hell she couldn't have that. She wasn't about to lose her shit and start swinging. She knew exactly how something like that would end, and there was no way in hell she could open that door back up. There was a part of her of course that wanted to, but all things considered....

So when the offer to go inside came up, the redhead hesitated. More often than not stepping into that ship wound up in one particular way. So doing so now?

She sighed, shook her head, and followed after him. She could do this, and there was plenty to talk about, she was sure. Once inside, she looked around and was all too easily relaxed being aboard. "Yes," she answered him without even needing a moment to think about it. "Everything is. From the day to day, to long term...It all seems to be getting harder and harder every day."

Gesturing to one of the many seats he kept around the 'shop' in the ship, Mavrek just listened as he sat/leaned on the edge of the table, watching Cali and letting her vent, it was the least he could do for her with everything that had happened over the few months. There was a slight nod at her words, letting what she said sink in and he wondered what he could even say to make her feel better.

At some point Dewey, his astromech came around offering them both drinks, before vanishing again, leaving the Mando's to themselves, "So... tell me about it, talk to me. Pretend this was like when we first became friends, tell me everything.", it was amusing to him, that once upon a time he'd have just taken her to bed to help her vent, but this time he chose to be mature about it, he wanted her to talk. He just watched her, with the eyes of a concerned friend, he tried his best to offer the support a friend would offer, this was all sort of new to him, he was used to being on his own, it's part of what lead him away.

The same things that were amusing to him, were strange to Calixte. All of the things that would have once happened a certain way not happening now? Yes, it was certainly good for her morals and conscious, but that didn't make it any less strange. To see him stood across from where she had seated herself, managing to keep distance between the two of them? Strange. And if she was a hundred percent honest, she wasn't sure how she felt about it.

"I wouldn't know where to start, Mav." she admit to him with a sigh. When they were both brought drinks, the redhead paused and looked down at the cup in her hands now. Her brow creased and there was a hint of that smirk on her lips as she studied the contents. "The droid knows my drink." she mused, then looked up and across the way once again. "Cute." she added, then took a drink from her glass.

Deflection? Maybe, and not totally uncommon for the redhead when it came to talking about things she was struggling with.

"Dewey remembers everything, I swear. Never had the heart to wipe his memory banks." Mavrek smiled as he took a drink of his own, still watching Cali for a moment, she was trying to deflect, he knew that it was something she always tried. Shaking his head as he grunted slightly, he smiled "You don't know, or don't want to acknowledge?" he goaded her slightly, trying to coerce the answers out of her.

His eyes locked with her, and she would be able to figure out that he wasn't going to let her off the hook so easy. Grabbing a chair, he spun it around and straddled it as he sat right in front of her, arms resting on what would be the back if it wasn't in front of him, and he tilted his head slightly "Come on, talk to me Red, this isn't that hard."

Admittedly the redhead should have known damn well better than to try and dodge the subject of conversation. When someone knew you better than you knew yourself, it made things difficult to hide. Or to deflect for that matter. Had it been anyone else to call her out on it, she probably would have hit them - though honestly when Mavrek moved closer, it was tempting to hit him anyway. Not that she would do as such unprovoked.

"Both?" she answered in inquiry about whether she didn't know or didn't want to, and then set her cup aside so that she cold fold her arms. "I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all. Helping the last surviving members of any clan is a cause that I will always gladly take up, but the constant running is wearing me down." She lift a gloved hand up, the fingers exposed, so that she could rake her fingers roughly through her curls. "There is never any time for anything else - anything else."

Hell when was the last time she and Galaar were in the same room together for more than a minute or so? Probably when she had confronted Lyra - another story to tell Mav about later, for sure. Right now, that wasn't important. "And I know, I know that right now relationship things aren't important, but damn...I'm tired of feeling lonely when surrounded by so many people..."

Mavrek watched every bit of Cali's motions, trying not to overstep any bounds between them, while they had a long history, things were a little different now, he knew that, and he didn't want to make her uneasy. So with a little bit of unease, he reached out, resting an armored hand on her shoulder, trying to convey his sympathy, "That can't be easy, I'm sorry I left you to deal with such things..." there was a frown, he started to wonder if he should have stayed, been a better clansman, done more to protect their own.

"You shouldn't be dealing with the things an Alor should be doing unless you're their Alor now." he grumped, a little annoyed at the fact it seemed that the aliit Cali was supposed to be a part of was being mismanaged, and the duties of the chieftain left to those, not in his position, "Maybe it's time we reunite clan Kordel, you and I. We'll restructure, rebuild under the Kordalas name, find other clans to fight alongside." there was some excitement, but also a very serious tone to his voice.

Her head shook and she waved a hand almost dismissively over the matter. "It isn't anything you need to apologize for." she assured him. But she didn't argue with him about it more than that. He had done what he felt was right, and Cali had merely not had the time to decide one way or another - and then had felt scorned to follow. Though now, it all felt a little silly....

But as he continued to speak, she made a noise in her throat and reached her free hand out to put it over his armored one. "Wait, wait...Are you serious?" It was a question that didn't need to be asked. She could hear it in his tone that he was serious. That this was something he felt that he could do - and wanted her help doing it.

After a moment, she smirked just a little. "How is that any different than what I'm doing now..?" she questioned him, head tipping a bit to one side.

"Well for one, we'd be doing it together, where one goes, the other goes. We do it as partners, I'll be the Alor, only because it is my aliit by blood, and you can be my Al'verde officially, but also..." he went quiet for a moment before leaning in a little closer, "Well, what do you want to be considered really?" there was many words that came to mind that he would consider her, but he wasn't one to use titles of things all that often, and in this case, it was her call.

It was another moment before he had even realized how close he was leaning in towards Cali, it was dangerously close considering the present situation, but he didn't dare move, he didn't want to seem like he was backing out, but he also didn't want to seem like he was trying to advance further. Just sitting there, he could breathe in her scent, and it was killing him, the ache he had forgotten was there again, but he wasn't going to do anything to endanger the current talks of what they were trying to do now, and the revival of his once-proud clan.

There was no way in the entirety of the galaxy that she could deny the way his answer made her feel. She may have sat tight lipped about it, but it was deeply rooted in her gaze. Those grey eyes, the only bit of evidence that she could never truly hide from someone who knew her well - and Mavrek knew her better than anyone. When he leaned in, her head ducked a bit and she took a couple of breaths before she lift her gaze to him again.

She put no space between them, she had no need or desire to. "What would you want me to be, Mav?" she questioned him, a tad more softly than the current conversation had been in volume. It might be a bold question, but she needed an answer to it.

He was silent for a moment, thinking hard on her words, he did know what she was to him, but he was unsure she'd ever accept it, "I want you." was all he said at first, his eyes locked with hers, then he cleared his throat a little, "and I want us to be life partners..."

Was that a stupid thing to have said? Most likely, yes. Did it need to be said? he believed so, he had always loved Cali since they first became friends, originally just as a platonic thing, but she grew to be so much more to him, which was probably what had initially made him still leave without an answer, but now that it was out there between them, there was nothing to do but wait on her reaction.

That was not at all the answer she had expected. The first part, yes. To hear him say those words, that he wanted her? That she had expected. But the second part? "Mav..." he had most certainly caught her fully off guard with that one. She stared at him, lips slightly parted, gaze soft, completely and thoroughly vulnerable in that moment. A rarity, to be most certain.

She reached a hand out so that she could touch his face with the pads of her fingers. It had certainly been a long time since she had been able to touch him, and yet it still sent the same sensations straight through her. "And what do I do about everything I have going on now, if I were to tell you yes..?"

His eyes closed at the feeling of her fingers, his hand coming up to grab her's gently, and he hummed very softly, enjoying the feeling of her touch. At her question though, he had to frown a little, "I know what I would do, but it's not really my place to tell you what to do." he stared at her again for a moment in silence, still thinking on what she had asked him.

"Would they really notice or blame you for leaving? Galaar sure doesn't seem to notice you..." he felt strange suggesting it, but it wasn't like she was officially a member of that clan, and even if she didn't accept this weird proposal as being life partners, he'd still induct her into the clan fully, "Whatever you choose, you're a welcome member of the clan, that's always been a fact with me."

That seem to strike a cord with her. Hearing those words out loud, having someone else say them? It made the redhead physically deflate. Her hand did not drop from his face, but when his hand touched her own, her fingers flexed. She had missed the touch of his hand just as much as she had missed touching him - even if it was a gloved hand.

For a time she was quiet, just soaking in the moment between them. Her gaze then found his again, square on as she spoke again. "Alright, Mav..." she dropped her hand away from his face and her head tipped to the side as she looked at him - studied him in this renewed closeness. "You had me at 'life partners'."

He grinned, leaning in to give Cali a kiss on the lips, it was soft, but had a fire behind it, "Not going to lie... I was a little worried there." he smiled as he broke away from the kiss, trying to tease her a little bit before resting his forehead against hers, "We can stay here tonight if you want. Then tomorrow we start to look for what's left of our clan and rebuild tomorrow?" he was fine with starting now if she wanted, but he had a feeling that wouldn't be the case.

Before long, he started to shift in his seat a bit, realizing he was still sitting fully kitted out when it was more than safe enough to lose some armor, the best part of that was, he could lock the ship down with a tap of a control on his wrist, which he did do, but he was still lost in Cali's eyes as they sat there, just having their moment.
