A character idea

I have an idea for a new character. I haven't planned it out too much, but it's basically just an advanced and complex AI. It would be sort of like SkyNet and have control over a wide range of droids/electronics/etc. Of course, that doesn't mean EVERYTHING and I obviously wouldn't just use it to assume control over every droid in existence. In RPs, the AI character would have a new host body (or even recurring) to use while the AI's core has been lost and only the AI itself knows its location.

Again, I haven't thought about this much and I don't know if this has been done before, but please let me know if this would create any infractions with the rules or just any ideas/comments/thoughts. Also, I'm assuming I'd have to submit it to the codex or something.

What I'm talking about is an AI that doesn't have a host body, but may override and take control of one should it choose. Obviously it'd have its own weaknesses which I'll get into eventually. Like HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey or GLaDOS.

What scope of influence are you looking at? Planetary?

Could be done. but i'd have it only use one droid at a time like a host or possession like you said.

Really? Interesting. I had that sort of idea when I first came to this site but I figured it wouldn't be feasible. Huh. Well, what do you know? Might revisit that idea in the future, then.

^ That passage was originally drafted with 'Contana similar' tech companions, autonomous starships, or smart power armor in mind. As, some players had taken to integrating Halo-like supercomputer's into their guns, armor, starships, and NIKE brand sneakers. Ugh.

As always, the Factory remains an optional experience. Likewise, character profiles are not subject to approval.

Yeah. A lot of us have seen Mass Effect and Halo before. So there have been a few Cortana and EDI knockoffs running around the place. Similar droids that can copy themselves. Like that bounty hunter droid IG-88 could do in the EU for awhile.

I mean. It's Star Wars. Droids, robots, and talking computers are everywhere. It's one of the reasons why 'Slicing' is such a popular job right alongside smuggling. It's everywhere.

Non canon droids must be submitted to the factory, and AI must go through the factory for PC characters.

The factory is optional...unless you want to do things which make it no longer optional.

All of this is possible however with a bit of work.
