A Corpse, a Jedi, and a Sith

He had a mission. And he was going to complete it for his allies. He had to find the body of a person he didn't know. For the Yuuzhan Vong leader known as the High Prophet Dredge. Quite a silly title and name, but it was their culture after all. But the mission was just as weird.

He had landed on the planet of Ossus. He figured quite stealthily. The only reason was to find the body of a person who had died during the battle for Ossus between the Republic and the Empire. The Republic had won. Only because the Empire was spread on too many fronts. But the Empire's core would stay strong, as it should.

Looking out over the plains of Ossus from the ships viewports, he triggered the ramp to open with the force, grabbed his amphistaff on his way out and initiated the ramp to close before it had even touched ground completely. The ship was hidden just underneath the cover of the trees. Throwing his hood up over his head to conceal his features he walked out of the ship to look up into the sky. Not a lot of time left. He thought to himself as he noted the sun was only just beginning to sink. He didn't want to stay on this planet looking for the corpse of somebody he didn't know.

Akodya will never in her life time understand war. The unnecessary bloodshed was something she struggled to tie a reason to. No one deserved this fate, Imperial or Republican. Stepping cautiously through the rubble and wreckage that littered what was left of the Planet, her heart sunk. She had felt the lives just go without warning. It was if every star in the sky suddenly faded, leaving nothing but a blank, haunting darkness. She dared not look down at some of the bodies that still lingered around. The smell was awful...that was enough for her. If she looked into their cold, milky eyes she thought she'd cry. Why did she even come here anyway?

Oh, that's right. To see once and for all her 'peaceful' Order is capable of.

How many of these imperial soldiers, she wondered, where cut down by a Jedi saber? How many died out matched? snuffed out as quickly as activating the weapon. Did they even feel anything when they thrust the blade into their chests? No. They didn't. In fact, some where probably celebrating the victory now. Akodya scowled. This why she had to leave. In the deathly silence that lingered over the battlefield, another set of footsteps could be heard. Snapping her head around she caught sight of hooded figure, staring up into the dimming sky. A darkness cloaked him, one that she could only feel was...Sith. Her fingers instinctively wrapped around her light saber held before dashing for cover behind a ruined building. Peering over the top, she watched with narrowed eyes.

He stopped in the midst of the bodies. He felt a presence in the Force. Jidai. He thought to himself, though he didn't look around for the presence. If he did they would be alerted. They were no doubt watching at that very moment. But he had to find that body now or else be found out and stopped by more Jedi and Republic scum.

However, the presence of Ashla only drew him closer and before he knew it his amphistaff was in his hands and his yellow eyes corrupted by the dark side, were blazing in fury and he was running to the light sided presence in the area. "Come out, Jidai!" He said as he ran faster and faster with the aide of the Force, in order to cover distance quicker.

Akodya resist the urge to growl in the figure's direction. She did NOT come here to fight. Hadn't there already been enough of that? In the fading light Akodya's thumb hovered over the activation button of her blade. If she could feel him there no doubt he could feel her. It was a matter of time before he found her kneeling behind the slab of concrete. Sighing she rose to her feet and walked into the open. Her saber hummed softly as the bright emerald blade lit up the battlefield as the day came to an end. Darkness now ruled the baron city. A cool wind blew in silence, whipping her long, loose hair around her face. She could sense the Sith's frustration, his corruption, as she dashed around in search of her.

"I am here, Sith. I mean you no harm. Enough fighting has been done in this city." She said in a low, powerful voice. Her words rang with the false professionalism and no hint of the awful emotions that boiled inside of her. She doubted he would just let her go quietly, he was Sith after all...maybe he had a heart though.

He stopped when he was less than ten meters away from the Jedi. He heard the female's voice though it didn't register until she activated the lightsaber. "Your Republic attacked this planet. What do you mean, you do not mean me harm?" His amphistaff was spinning in his hand with practiced movements. He was thinking of tearing her limb from limb. Though would it truly be a challenge? If anything she was trying to avoid a fight. But that was the way of the Jidai scum.

"What is your name, Jidai?" He inquired as he stood there. He planted the amphistaff in the ground and looked at her. His hands were grasped around the three meter tall staff, but for the moment, all he did was wait for her to speak. Perhaps she could help him find who he was looking for..After all, throughout all the ruins he couldn't truly tell which one was the old Jedi Academy.

"I am separate from the Republic." She blurted out before she could stop herself. Well, she felt she was anyway. She was considering leaving the Order she had called home, after seeing the chaos that was a result of her fellow Jedi. Under the dark hood of the figure her hazel eyes caught a pair of yellow ones, hinting at the corruption she had felt radiating from him before. He stood a fair distance away from her, with a massive staff stabbed into the ground. rubble and rock lay in the space between them. He continued by asking for her name.

"I don't think that is necessary for you to know." She said, her face illuminated by her buzzing green lightsaber. Tilting her head to the side she studied him silently. "What is a lone Sith doing on this planet? the damage is done." She asked, her back straightening.

He grunted, picked up his amphistaff and looked out into the dark. The darkness was crawling towards them and had engulfed them. The only light was the slight orange hue of the sun as it rotated to the other side of the planet, and the green hue of her lightsaber beam.

"Where is the Jedi Academy where the fighting took place?" He said, he leveled the head of the amphistaff to the floor. He wasn't going to attack her, at least, not if she gave him the information that he wanted. "In what direction? There is something I must find." More like a someone, but that someone was dead, long dead, and they were now an it in death. For those who are dead are no longer a he or she.

Akodya wanted to accuse the sith of grave robbing, but she bit her tongue. She wasn't going to just give a Sith directions so he could probably steal something from the ruins! 'There is something I must find?' ha! Akodya bet he was just going to dig up some hologram and hand it to his master so he could butt kiss his way to the top! Her eyes narrowing, the padawan took a step forward.

"What exactly do you hope to find there, Sith?" She demanded, using her free hand to push her sleek hair from her face. Anger began to boil within her. Typical. Disgusting. Hasn't this planet had enough damage? enough suffering? No one should be allowed to just come and pilfer whatever tickles there fancies! Stealing from the dead was something she couldn't stand.

I bet he had been picking things from the fallen, too! she thought to herself, her lips forming a harsh line.

He watched her and tilted his head to the side slightly. A grin formed that could only barely be seen from the receding light. He felt the anger that was within her. He revelled in it. Though he didn't show it, besides the grin on his face. "I have a body to find." He said simply, and he started to walk by her. He put enough distance in between them as he started to walk past her so that he would have time to defend himself if she did try and stop him.

Jidai are a waste of time. I could crush her within the hour. And yet, he didn't. He elected to ignore her until either she decided to attack him or tell him what he wanted to know.

"What do you want with one of the fallen?" She piped up, scowling.

Akodya bristled as he casually strolled past her, a cloak of darkness shadowing him. Under the comforting glow of her emerald blade, she could see hidden under his hood the corners of his mouth were curled upwards in a mocking grin. Ah, he was messing with her. Like vinecats, Sith liked to play with their food before they ate it. With feet firmly planted on the ground the young woman watched his movements out of the corner of her eye. He was not moving into a offensive stance. He was not planning on fighting her at this point. Turning around she let out of soft sigh.

"Tell me, why are you here? there is nothing but death in this city." She said, her voice relaxed and somewhat sweeter than before.

So she was going to follow him. Or at least persist in speaking to him. And they said Sith like to talk. He turned to look her over for the first time. He supposed she was pretty, in the average kind of way. Whatever that was. She must appeal to someone's taste somewhere after all.

"One of them..Was someone I knew. They never returned to the Academy." He lied. He wasn't going to tell her the truth. It was none of her business, he needed to get to the body. "Where is the Jedi Academy then?" He inquired, his voice gentler, if he had to be nice to get her to answer him, he would. He would do almost anything to better himself and further himself. He could only hope that she wouldn't lie when she told him where.

"In that case, let me retrieve the body for you. It makes sense since I will know the pile of rubble better than you..." She said without answering his second question, trying to call him out. You could never tell with a Sith. They had an odd habit of being truthful, then lying straight afterwards. Also, she didn't trust how soft his gruff voice had become. It was forced and she knew it.

"That saves you time as well." She added, innocently brushing a strand of loose hair out of her face. "You know, so you can get of this rock faster."

It was curious. The Jedi was going to help him. It had been done before, the Sith and the Jedi working together. But that had been underneath more extreme circumstances. Such as Abeloth. This was simply looking for a body, but he would use her as much as he could, until her uses ran out. Though he wondered how she would be capable of helping him.

"You do not know who I am looking for. You may accompany me, but do not get in my way, Jidai." He said and he finally walked past her to where the ancient Jedi Academy had fallen into ruin after the Invasion of Ossus. He saw the ruins from the viewports of his ship as he landed. But then again there were many ruins on the planet. But this collapsed structure had to be it certainly? It had the strongest presence within the Force even after it had become a pile of rubble. Though the presence within the Force was a light sided aura, he would have to deal with it.

"Why are you still on Ossus, girl?" He inquired while he walked. He figured she followed him, she wouldn't just let him wander around now that the Republic had the planet, would she?
